Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for May 31, 2022

Before the next match, Roderick Strong tells The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) that they have the night off and to watch him and Damon Kemp show how it is done against Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince). Ivy Nile and The Creed Brothers are surprised and disappointed.

Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince) beat Diamond Mine (Roderick Strong and Damon Kemp) after Julius Creed takes a title shot to the head for Roderick Strong only for Pretty Deadly to hit Spilt Milk for the win.

Backstage, Solo Sikoa tells Cameron Grimes he has his back tonight, then tells Grimes to take care of Carmelo so they can have their match. Suddenly, Duke Hudson brags about his win against Bron Breakker, but Sikoa reminds him he won by disqualification. Hudson says Sikoa is young and inexperienced, but Sikoa comes to the conclusion that if he cannot beat Hudson, he should not be going for any title. Sikoa challenges Hudson to a match, and Hudson says he will see what he can do.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Grayson Waller sings the praises of Tiffany Stratton and says everyone should be like her while trashing everyone else in the room. As Waller makes fun of Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen, Briggs shows up and challenges Waller to a match.

In footage from earlier today, Tony D'Angelo meets Santos Escobar on his yacht. D'Angelo says that they both knew they would have a turf war and that he does not Escobar, but Escobar says D'Angelo made it big by stabbing everyone in the front and became a snake. Escobar then says he is a python and wants to squeeze the life out of him. Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Troy "Two Dimes" Donovan and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo want to fight each other, but D'Angelo and Escobar stop their respective men from doing anything rash. D'Angelo wants a match, Elektra Lopez says there is nothing in this for Escobar. D'Angelo challenges Escobar to a six-man tag match between both of their camps. If he wins, Escobar joins his family under his direction, but if Escobar wins, D'Angelo and his men will serve him. Elektra Lopez says this move benefits Escobar more than D'Angelo, but D'Angelo says that as a don, he has to make moves others cannot see. After both teams entertain potential results, D'Angelo and Escobar shake hands.

Cora Jade beats Elektra Lopez.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Wes Lee. Wes Lee says he has waited for a match with Xyon Quinn for weeks and he refuses to miss this opportunity, and for as long as he has air in his lungs, he will keep fighting. Sanga shows up and tells Wes Lee to fight Xyon Quinn like he fought him last week, and tells him that while he is not a giant, he has giant heart. Sanga then wishes Wes Lee luck.

We see a video package of Roxanne Perez for the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament, where Perez talks about her road to the finals of the tournament. She also talks about her friendship with Cora Jade, and says that while Tiffany Stratton is bigger and stronger than her, she is not as determined, and next week, she will fight until the contract is in her hands.

Wes Lee beats Xyon Quinn with a surprise roll-up.

Backstage, Roderick Strong yells at the rest of Diamond Mine for costing him the match and not staying in the back, then says he knows what is best for Diamond Mine. He then tells The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) that failure is not an option and that if they do not win the NXT tag team titles, they are out of Diamond Mine.

We hear from Joe Gacy, who says that the house of Bron Breakker was where the sparks of Bron's anger formed as he watched his father make pro wrestling history while he and his brother would wrestle at home. He then says that Bron Breakker took his rage onto the football field and got good at football, but Bron knew he had to switch to pro wrestling. Joe Gacy talks about Bron's NXT Championship reigns, then says that he knows all about Bron through his father. After stating that Bron Breakker's family settles things with their firsts, he tells Bron to be the man that he is and to give him what he deserves, as it is more important to get even than to win a match, and one way or another, he will be NXT Champion.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Bron Breakker, who says that he will not lose the NXT Championship to Joe Gacy. Gacy's laughter is heard in the room, and when Bron grabs the TV, he nearly throws it down but just places it back on the table. Bron says that he may be predictable like Gacy says, but he will tear Gacy apart.

Wade Barrett hosts a summit between Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) and the team of Wendy Choo, Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. Katana says they are tired of seeing Toxic Attraction with the gold and that they will knock them off the top of the mountain. Gigi Dolin says there has been a long list of women who could not beat them and that they are no different, and Jacy Jayne says that while Kayden and Katana were having fun, Toxic Attraction was controlling the women's division. Kayden says it is easy to stay on top when the tag titles are barely defended, and that she and Katana are the only tag team who ever beaten and that they can beat them again. Mandy Rose says that Toxic Attraction is the best because the titles say so and that she will do what it takes to make sure Wendy Choo is not a champion while making fun of Wendy Choo's appearance and telling everyone to put respect on her name. All the while, Katana, Kayden and Wendy keep telling Mandy to sign the contract, leading to a "Sign the contract" chant. Mandy Rose signs the contract, then says that Wendy Choo throws a spitball at Mandy only to get kicked. This starts a brawl between both sides, and Katana, Kayden and Wendy come out on top after Wendy splashes Mandy through the table. Kayden, Katana and Wendy then raise up all of the womens' title belts.

Backstage, Ivy Nile is met by Kiana James, who asks Ivy if she will talk to The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) after they lose on Saturday. Ivy says The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) will win, but James says The Creed Brothers have a 12% chance of winning. Ivy pins James to the wall and asks her what her numbers say about her kicking her ass, and James says the numbers are the same. Ivy says "We'll see about that."

Solo Sikoa beats Duke Hudson.

We see a video package for Tiffany Stratton for the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament, saying she is in the finals where she belongs and that success follows her around like a personal assistant. She says that Roxanne Perez's life is as exciting as a cardboard box and that she should have taken a plane instead of a bus, then says Roxanne Perez can cry in Cora Jade's shoulder while she gets her championship contract.

We see Thea Hail graduate from high school with a 4.0 GPA. Afterwards, Thea Hail announces she will be attending Chase University, much to the surprise of the Chase University students and Andre Chase.

Before the next match, Grayson Waller wants only Josh Briggs in their one-on-one match. Brooks Jensen and Fallon Henley head to the back.

Grayson Waller beats Josh Briggs after Robert Stone and Sofia Cromwell show up, followed by Von Wagner, whose presence distracts Briigs and allows Waller to get the win. After the match, Von Wagner attacks Josh Briggs. Brooks Jensen saves Briggs from getting an injured arm, and Sofia Cromwell holds Von Wagner back.

Ivy Nile beats Kiana James. After the match, Pretty Deadly show up and congratulate Ivy Nile before stating that they will win and get The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) kicked out of Diamond Mine. When Elton Prince asks what will happen when Diamond Mine closes, The Creed Brothers show up. When Pretty Deadly try to run away, The Creed Brothers beat them up and hold up the NXT tag titles.

We see another vignette for Giovanni Vinci.

Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams guest on commentary for the next match.

Cameron Grimes beats Nathan Frazer. After the match, Carmelo and Trick try to attack Grimes from behind, but Grimes fends them off.
