Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for May 28, 2022

Aaron Roberts beats Brandon Espinosa despite Espinosa targeting Roberts' left knee throughout the match.

Austin Lane beats "Remarkable" Ryan Rembrandt with an STF in a Best of the Best Challenge. After the match, Austin Lane thanks Matt Williams for waking something up that he had buried deep inside of him, and warns Norman Meklakov and Matt that instead of the "best of the best," they will get "the wrestling machine."

Dustin Starr interviews "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock and Van Viciouss - who have security - at the announce desk. Blaylock immediately calls out Derrick King. After the commercial, Derrick King shows up, and Blaylock takes offense to him refusing to be Van Viciouss' assistant before stating that Viciouss is the next big action hero, Derrick is not relevant and that Derrick made a big mistake after not winning in months. Derrick says Viccious was only relevant when he was hanging out with him, then says Blaylock wants to jump on everyone's bandwagon before bringing up Blaylock's security. Blaylock says his security is the best money could buy and that Derrick could have had a job, and when Derrick touches Blaylock, Blaylock's security moves into place. Derrick says they can have a match so they can see who is making a mistake. Van Viccious agrees to the match despite both Viciouss and Derrick wearing street clothes.

Van Viciouss beats Derrick King after hitting him with "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock's cane after Blaylock and his security distract the referee when Derrick King hits the Superkick only for Blaylock to pull the referee out of the pinfall attempt.

We hear from Money Mark, who says that he is here to do some financing, backing and talent scouting, and he has scouted some talent. Big Jack and Bruce show up as he says they are going to smoke some cigars and kick some butt.

Lance Archer vs. "The GunShow" Brett Michaels for the Memphis Heritage Championship becomes a Triple Threat Match after Mike Anthony cashes in the Cobra Cup. As Archer tries to go for a vertical suplex from the ring to the floor and Brett blocks it before exchanging blows with Archer, Anthony rolls Brett up to win the match and become the Memphis Heritage Champion.
