Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for May 17, 2022

Before the next match, Carmelo Anthony tells Solo Sikoa to shut his mouth and that "he's got last", and Trick Williams says that Carmelo has Cameron Grimes. Carmelo says he will take the North American title back because he is "the rightful A-Champion."

Solo Sikoa and Cameron Grimes beat Carmelo Anthony and Trick Williams despite some slight miscommunication between Solo and Cameron near the end of the match.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince). Elton Prince says they are terrified of The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed), and Kit Wilson say they cannot sleep. They then laugh, and Prince says that they have beaten them once before. Wilson say they will be shells of themselves when they win again, then looks forward to The Creed Brothers' match against The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) tonight.

We see a vignette for Thea Hail, who talks about her NXT Performance Center try-out, how she was the youngest one there and that she wanted to prove she wanted to do this. She then says there is one thing she needs to do: graduate high school, which she will be doing next week. She also says that WWE is letting her wrestle for the company while simultaneously going to college.

Lash Legend beats Tatum Paxley to advance in the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament.

We hear from Tony D'Angelo, who says Santos Escobar messed up and that it did not have to be this way, and after he says Escobar will regret it, he then mentions to his goombahs Troy "Two Dimes" Donovan and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo that he will take Escobar on alone.

It is announced that NXT is going back on tour.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Duke Hudson, who says that he does not care what the fans want and that he has had to clear his mind. As he says that no one can measure up to him, Bron Breakker shows up and heads to the ring, angering Duke.

Bron Breakker heads to the ring. Bron says the last time people saw him, Joe Gacy dumped him off the side of the road like a piece of trash and wanted him to join him. He tells Joe Gacy that after all they have been through, he can kiss his ass. He tells Gacy he should have finished the job out in that field, and tells him that he will put him out of consciousness. Joe Gacy shows up on the balcony with his two henchmen and says he is not here to fight, but Bron tells him to shut up and that he does not trust him and dares him to get in the ring. Gacy says a man becomes predictable when enraged and that Bron has a history of losing his temper, and while he can envision the violence Bron wants to cause and knows that Bron does not want to join him, he does not hold a grudge. Gacy says he will give Bron Breakker his one-on-one match with him, then says they should raise the stake after all he has done to Bron and that Bron should give him a beating, then says that if Bron loses control, he loses his most prized possession. He says that if Bron gets disqualified, he will lose the NXT Championship, then asks Bron how badly he wants their match. Bron says "You're on."

We hear from Indi Hartwell, who says that she has gone from the top to rock bottom in the blink of an eye and that she is tired of feeling sorry for herself. She then says she is flying solo now and that is is now sink or swim. She says that if Mandy Rose wants to kick her when she is down and weak, she should try doing it when she is staring her in the face, and that if Mandy Rose calls herself the measuring stick, she will take the stick and shove it up her arse.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Wes Lee, who says that his match is postponed because Xyon Quinn is not medically cleared. He says that Xyon Quinn is ducking him and that when he is cleared, he knows where to find him. Nathan Frazer shows up and says that while Wes Lee wants to be in the ring, so does he. Wes Lee says this is not the right time, as he has a lot of anger towards Quinn and does not want to take it out on him. Frazer says that if this is the case, then he looks forward to the challenge.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) after Roderick Strong tries to get involved in the match only to be tossed out by Julius Creed, distracting Julius just long enough for The Viking Raiders to get the win.

We hear from Legado del Fantasmo (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Elektra Lopez). Santos Escobar says that he has realized that Tony D'Angelo wants to be like him, but there is only one him and he has been one step ahead of him, in his head and under his skin. He says that he will take Tony D'Angelo on one-on-one, but Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro want a piece of D'Angelo. Elektra Lopez says emotions should not get in the way of business, and Santos Escobar implies that they can take care of D'Angelo's henchmen.

Backstage, Grayson Waller and Tiffany Stratton meet in the locker room. Grayson says Tiffany is a real breakout star, and Tiffany tells Grayson to take care of Andre Chase.

In backstage footage from moments ago, Bron Breakker says that Joe Gacy talks about acceptance and inclusion but does the exact opposite. Duke Hudson shows up and says that if he interrupts him again, he will not make it to his match with Joe Gacy. Bron Breakker proposes they have a match, and Duke Hudson accepts.

Sarray acts as the honorary flagbearer for Chase University before the next match.

Grayson Waller beats Andre Chase with a rolling Stunner as Andre Chase rolls back into the ring.

Backstage, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne watch an interview from Kayden Carter and Katana Chance. Mandy Rose shows up, and the three of them want to know why everyone is obsessed with them. Gigi Dolin says there is no respect on Toxic Attraction's (Mandy, Gigi, Jacy) name, and Mandy Rose says the respect starts tonight with Indi Hartwell.

Backstage, The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) confront Damon Kemp and Roderick Strong for their actions. Roderick Strong says The Creed Brothers will not be able to beat Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson) without his guidance. As Roderick Strong has Damon Kemp get a match with Pretty Deadly, Pretty Deadly shows up and says that no matter how much tape they watch, The Creed Brothers cannot beat them. Roderick Strong challenges them to a match against The Creed Brothers next week.

Roxanne Perez beats Kiana James to advance in the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament.

Backstage, Malik Blade and Edris Enofe make fun of both Tony "Two Dimes" Donovan and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo when Two Dimes and Stacks show up and tell them to face the real thing next week when they are done playing pretend.

Backstage, Cora Jade congratulates Roxanne Perez on her win tonight. Cora and Roxanne reveal they have been friends, then Elektra Lopez shows up and says she will take out Alba Fyre next week before calling Cora and Roxanne an underachiever and an overachiever. She also says that Roxanne has no chance against Lash Legend in the next round. When Cora asks Elektra what her problem is, Elektra says that with what is in front of her, neither of them are.

Nathan Frazer vs. Wes Lee ends with Von Wagner attacking both men and press slamming Wes Lee from the ring to the announce table.

Backstage, Wes Lee and Nathan Frazer are met by Sanga, who says that they had until Von Wagner got involved and took out two men of their size. Frazer wants nothing to do with what Wes Lee is going through, and Wes Lee is offended and wants to prove that he does not need to be ten feet tall to succeed. This leads to Sanga - who says that he meant no disrepect to Wes Lee - proposing a match between himself and Wes Lee next week.

Santos Escobar beats Tony D'Angelo. During the match, Tony D'Angelo looks for his crowbar only for Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro to reveal they have it. Tony "Two Dimes" Donovan and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo show up and attack Wilde and del Toro, then Escobar hits D'Angelo with brass knuckles to get the win.

We hear from Joe Gacy, who says that he has predicted Bron Breakker's every move and that Bron's lack of control will give him full control of the NXT Championship, the brand and the world.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
