Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for May 26, 2022

Laredo Kid beats Black Taurus in the BTI match.

Trey Miguel beats Alex Shelley to qualify for the Ultimate X Match for the X Division Championship at Slammiversary with a La Magistral Cradle.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) and "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. Mark Briscoe says he and Jay are not only the baddest tag team in Impact, but on the planet, and Jay says they have beaten Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner) twice, yet they are still angry. He says that tonight, they have their third man. Alexander says that The Briscoes will put a beef to rest while he sends a message to Eric Young that he is the future of the company. Alexander leaves, then The Briscoes meet The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson). Doc Gallows tells The Briscoes that they cannot call themselves the tag team champions until they have beaten them, and Karl Anderson says that until then, their reign doesn't count. The Briscoes take this as a challenge and accept the match.

Masha Slamovich quickly beats Havok. After the match, Rosemary checks on Havok, and Crazzy Steve and Black Taurus soon show up to do the same.

Backstage, Trey Miguel is thanked backstage for his victory, especially by Blake Christian and Alex Shelley. Kenny King shows up to spoil the moment by proclaiming himself the greatest X Division Champion of all time and call Christian a nobody who should be listening to him, which leads to Christian challenging him to a match. Kenny King wants none of it, but Trey Miguel uses Kenny King's boasts of being the greatest X Division Champion of all time against him and forces him to accept the match.

Backstage, Rich Swann says Matt Cardona has been ducking him ever since he challenged him for the Digital Media title, so he is going to be looking for him. As for "The Drama King" Matthew Rehwoldt, he tells him to face him in the ring like a man so he can get his revenge.

Jordynne Grace beats Chelsea Green.

Backstage, Scott D'Amore is swarmed by Honor No More, and Mike Bennett wants something done about what has happened to Maria Kanellis-Bennett, and wants a rematch with The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) for himself and Matt Taven. D'Amore says that The Good Brothers' dance card is already full with The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) at Slammiversary, but Eddie Edwards warns D'Amore that if Honor No More does not get what they want, nobody does.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo. Purrazzo says everyone who shows up in Impact wants to make a name for themselves against her, and that she is the face of the Knockouts division. As she says she will make history at Slammiversary, Tasha Steelz and Savannah Evans show up. Tasha says she and Savannah are the only ones making history around here, then reminds her they have a common enemy in Mia Yim and invites her to Savannah's match against Mia next week so they can get rid of Mia once and for all.

Chris Sabin vs. Frankie Kazarian ends with both men being attacked by Honor No More.

Backstage, Kenny King brags about Honor No More's attack on Chris Sabin and Frankie Kazarian, and Honor No More says that Impact does not deserve to have twenty years to celebrate after showing lies, dishonor and disrespect, especially to them. Heath and Rhino confront them for their words and remind them that they were fired and that Impact gave him and Rhino an opportunity while calling Honor No More ungrateful complainers. Security has to get between both sides.

Bhupinder Gujjar and W. Morrissey beat Raj Singh and Shera.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Moose. Moose says Sami Callihan is the biggest fraud in professional wrestling and attacks him from behind because he is scared of him. He says that in their last match, Sami left on a stretcher. Steve Maclin then shows up. Maclin says that he would rather work alone, and that if they are to beat PCO and W. Morrissey, Moose must get Sami out of his head. Suddenly, some static occurs, scaring Moose. Maclin tells Moose to get out of his head.

Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner) beat "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander and The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) after Deaner hits Mark Briscoe with Eric Young's mask while Joe Doering distracts the referee.
