Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for May 14, 2022

Dustin Starr interviews The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) at the announce desk. Simon says they came here to say thanks to "all the freeloading fans" for getting off their coattails so they could win the Memphis tag team titles, then thanks the legends who have held people like The Posses back before saying they own Memphis Wrestling now. Mr. Chris demands that he no longer be called "Lil'" anymore, then Simon announces that Dustin Starr - who is called "Memphis Vince" according to their shirts - has signed them to a big deal and that the "Memphis Vince" shirt is available right now. As Mr. Chris says that "Big Swole" Justin Cole had his shot at the Memphis Heritage Championship like everyone else, he and Simon are attacked from behind by Justin Cole, and referees and security swarm in to break up the brawl. Justin Cole is held back while The Posse leave through the front door.

Van Viciouss and "Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock proposition Derrick King to join them, with Van Viciouss asking Derrick King to be his assistant "just like old times." Derrick King declines. Blaylock says Derrick King just screwed up.

After the commercial break, Dustin Starr interviews "Big Swole" Justin Cole, who says he is looking for a fight and not a match, and that he wants The Posse even if that means the fight is unsanctioned.

K-Toomer beats Gio Savage. After the match, the referee - the same one who has had Tops Bar-B-Q on his shirt and eaten off the mat in the past - puts his gum behind his ear before pulling out a burger and eating it, much to the surprise of K-Toomer. After the match, K-Toomer tells Rhino that he wants all the smoke and that he knows where to find him.

We hear from Martin, who says that week after week, he is hearing about unfinished business, and that this afternoon, he will have some of his own to take care of.

Mike Anthony beats "The Last Hotstepper" DJ Brown. After the match, Mike Anthony threatens to hit Dustin Starr so hard that his first of kin will feel it if he eyeballs him again, then wants to know why there is no nameplate with his name on it on the Cobra Cup. He then says he does not care about Dustin Starr's or the fans' feelings and that he would fart if he wanted to hear from a butthole, then says "Time is ticking...whatever it takes."

We hear from Norman Meklakov, who says that he is the most dominant man in professional wrestling and that nobody can break the Meklalock and that nobody can break him.

Next week: The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) vs. "Big Swole" Justin Cole!

The Skimahorns (Brad Skimahorn and Uncle Mikey) beat The Yung GOATs (Zay Washington and Rashad Lee). Before the match, Briar Skimahorn hands out fliers stating "I'm A Lil' Stinkerhorn." During the match, Rashad Lee gets Uncle Mikey in the ring only to find out that Brad - not Mikey - is the legal man. When he gets Brad Skimahorn into the ring, Brad wins the match with an inside cradle. Both teams shake hands after the match.

We hear from Mike Anthony from inside what looks like a jail cell. He says that he has committed no crime and that he thrives in an environment like a prison that others can endure, saying it is his happy place and why he is in a class all by himself. He says that he is self-made and not made by Memphis Wrestling, Dustin Starr or the fans, and that the fans will soon find this out.

Dustin Starr interviews Martin at the announce desk. Martin says that for the past year, he has been having unfinished business, and today, he will take care of that business. He then calls out Lance Archer out. Lance Archer shows up, takes the microphone, then asks Martin if he has a death wish before saying he has unfinished business, but not with Martin. He gives Martin a chance to walk out of the ring and get out of Memphis or else he will make an example of him. Martin steps up to Archer instead, and punches him in the face. Archer takes the punch, then choke slams Martin. "The GunShow" Brett Michaels shows up with referees and security trying to hold him back. Archer teases getting out of the ring, which alarms everyone holding Brett back, before tossing the Memphis Heritage Championship over to Brett and telling him that will be the last time he is in the ring as champion before he beats him for the title.
