Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 9, 2022

RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Matt Riddle) head to the ring to start tonight's show. Orton admits that they come out on the losing end at WrestleMania Backlash, and says that while they lost the battle, they will win the war. He says that the tag team unification match that was originally planned was The Usos' (Jimmy and Jey Uso) idea, but Roman Reigns and Paul Heyman made it a six-man tag match because they knew The Usos could not hold a candle to them. Orton says he and Riddle want to unify the tag team titles and become the tag team champions of the world. Riddle says that since The Usos can't make decisions on their own and Roman has to make them for him, they will head to SmackDown and demand that unification match. He says that if Roman says no, then it means he has no confidence in The Usos. Suddenly, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) show up. Montez Ford says that RK-Bro had a tough loss last night. Angelo Dawkins says Roman and The Usos are a tough squad, but says they are the ones they should be worried about. Montez then reminds them that "we got next" and proclaims that it is him and Dawkins who will unify the titles, and Dawkins mentions that RK-Bro have failed to mention them once before their match. Montez says that they want not just the titles, but the smoke, but Riddle says "RK-Bro 4:20 says we just smoked your asses."

Kevin Patrick interviews Austin Theory on the stage. Theory says he can defend the United States Championship all day and that he is the youngest United States Champion for a reason. He says he does not care about "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes or the past; he only cares about the future and himself.

The Judgment Day (Edge, Damian Priest, Rhea Ripley) head to the ring. Edge says The Judgment Day was formed because they were tired of being sheep just like the fans, and while "being a sheep" got him into the Hall of Fame, he is bigger than the Hall of Fame. He also says it got him injured, and that the fans do not care. He says that the fans just get on social media and just make asinine contents, then says the fans do not like what they see because they are ugly while they can look into any mirror and like what they see. Edge says nothing and no one can tough them, then Damian Priest says that the truth hurts. He says that individually, he and Edge were capable of destroying everyone's favorite, but together, they are more, and now they are greater with an instrument of brutality. He then demands that the fans rise for the newest member of The Judgment Day, Rhea Ripley. Rhea says The Judgment Day was the easiest decision of her life and that Edge and Damian changed for the better and wanted that for herself. She says that she is tired of signing autographs for all the little kids who want to be like her when all those autographs are being sold on eBay, then says she joined because she is tired of being used. Rhea then says she has unfinished business to attend to in the form of Liv Morgan, who no longer rides her coattails, and tonight, she will give Liv a reason to cry when she ultimately destroys her. Edge says that Rhea and Damian are now his "saints of fate," then talks about how he took Rhea aside and told her that Liv was holding her down like an albatross, having seen wasted domination and a juggernaut in the slow lane in Rhea. He then says his movement is not done and that they are looking more people, then Liv Morgan shows up.

Rhea Ripley beats Liv Morgan with the reverse cloverleaf. After the match, Rhea Ripley puts Liv Morgan back on the reverse cloverleaf while Edge laughs at and makes fun of Liv. Suddenly, Finn Balor shows up. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles soon joins him, and the two of them head to the ring for the next match.

Finn Balor beats Damian Priest by disqualification when Edge hits Finn with a Spear while Rhea Ripley provides a distraction. After the match, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles goes after Edge and also fends off Damian Priest only to be stopped by Rhea Ripley. This allows Edge and Damian to double-team Styles and take him out.

Backstage, Kevin Owens meets with Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis). Gable says that he sent Ezekiel's red cup from when he met The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) to his friends in a DNA test in order to prove that Ezekiel is really Elias. Kevin Owens then mentions that his older brother Ken Owens will be showing up to face Ezekiel in a match to beat the truth out of him.

It's time for The MVP Lounge. MVP demands respect for Omos for beating Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania Backlash, then says that Bobby Lashley became "The All Mighty" because of him until Lashley decided to hog the spotlight and the glory while leaving him at home. Suddenly, Cedric Alexander shows up and says he is proud of Omos, stating that everything MVP said about him is fact. He says that with his technical expertise and with Omos' strength and power, they would be unstoppable. Before MVP can say much to Cedric, however, Lashley shows up and lays out the security guards before making quick work of Cedric Alexander and confronting Omos. Omos and Lashley brawl, but Lashley sends Omos over the top rope. Lashley then confronts MVP, but MVP escapes as Cedric jumps on top of him only to be thrown down. Lashley then puts Cedric in the Hurt Lock as Omos and MVP leave.

She then tells her that she is still a WWE Superstar, then introduces her opponent for tonight: Alexa Bliss.

Alexa Bliss quickly beats Sonya Deville.

Before the next match, Kevin Owens shows up with a greyed beard and a platinum grey wig and calls himself "Ken Owens," then says everybody believes Ezekiel is Elias and that everyone is playing along. After asking the fans if they think Ezekiel is Elias, he asks if the fans are idiots or liars, then calls them all liars and Ezekiel the biggest liar of all. Kevin finally snaps and both men brawl, then Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) show up and attack Ezekiel. Owens then hits Ezekiel with a Stunner.

Backstage, WWE official Adam Pearce meets with Asuka when Becky Lynch shows up and demands a championship rematch while Asuka is handed a title match. Pearce says Asuka is earning a shot against the Raw Women's Champion, but Becky does not want to hear it. Asuka tells Becky that she handed the Raw Women's Championship to her to become a mother, but right now, she is acting like a baby. Becky takes offense to this and walks away.

Before the next match, Byron Saxton interviews Frank Lowman. Lowman says he does not want to be carted out of the building after being decimated by Veer Mahaan, but he has a wife and triplets who expect him to provide for them, so he has to do this for his family.

Veer Mahaan beats Frank Lowman with the cervical clutch.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. Cody says the chapter between him and Seth Rollins is closed, then says Austin Theory is brimming with potential and that Theory should be ready to dig down or else he will become the new United States Champion.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats Austin Theory by disqualification after being attacked from behind by Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. Austin Theory retains the WWE United States Championship. After the match, Rollins continues to attack Cody and tells him that he will not take anything from him ever again as he continues to ram him into the announce table. Rollins then hits The Stomp on the announce table.

Sasha Banks and Naomi beat Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop. After the match, Doudrop chews out Nikki A.S.H. and asks her when she will start taking thing seriously, then The Miz shows up dressed as a referee. The Miz is special guest referee for the next match.

Before the next match, The Miz says that Mustafa Ali has not been treated fairly in the WWE, and that Austin Theory has gotten him a special guest referee who will call it right down the middle: himself.

Tommaso Ciampa - now known as just Ciampa - beats Mustafa Ali after Mustafa Ali confronts special guest referee The Miz for making a slow count before Ciampa hits a reverse DDT and recieves a fast count.

Backstage, we hear from Bobby Lashley, who says Omos only won because of MVP. Lashley then makes it known that next week, he wants a match without MVP's interference and he wants Omos in a steel cage.

Backstage, R-Truth asks Dana Brooke and Tamina if they want to go through with their divorce. Dana says she has triked Reggie and Akira Tozawa into a double date. When Reggie and Tozawa show up, Reggie gets served with divorce papers. Tozawa runs away before he is served.
