Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 30, 2022

Becky Lynch heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Becky admits she did not feel like putting on a brave face and acting like everything was okay without her title, but she knew so many planned for her downfall and for her to never take the title, and says she does not live for the fans and she is "pretty fueled up." She says some people collect friends or stamps, but she collects enemies and will continue to do so as she rises to the top so she knows she is on track to becoming champion again at Hell In A Cell. Becky says the odds are stacked against her, but she has always defied odds and convention. She then mentions her history with Asuka going back to Money In The Bank 2020 and says she gave Asuka "the greatest gift of her career." She then says she created "an entitled monster" out of Asuka when she handed her the title only for her to lose it, then Asuka shows up. Asuka tells Becky she is still "a big time baby," then says nobody is ready for her because she is ready to be the new WWE Raw Women's Champion. Suddenly, Bianca Belair shows up. Bianca says she respects Asuka, but she kicked her last week and she has a lot ot say to her. She also says she cannot wait to give Becky a piece of her mind because regardless of the odds, the Raw Women's title is not going anywhere. She also says that she will drop Becky just like she did at WrestleMania only for Becky to punch her, and this starts a brawl where Bianca and Asuka get the better of Becky.

Bianca Belair beats Asuka with a reversal into an inside cradle. After the match, Becky Lynch takes out both Bianca and Asuka.

Rey Mysterio, Dominik Mysterio and Ezekiel beat Kevin Owens and Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) in a six-man tag match after Kevin Owens inadvertently superkicks Chad Gable.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring. Cody says he has always been a fan of Seth "Freakin'" Rollins, as he saw potential to do great things the first time he saw him, as did his father Dusty Rhodes. He talks about how Dusty told him he had the ingredients to make him a generational talent, and says that Seth Rollins lives up to the hype. Cody then admits he was nervous, because he could not return to WWE with a loss. He then says he won and then became the better man against Rollins again, which has driven Rollins into madness and jealousy. Cody says Rollins is an egomaniac that wants everything for himself, and says it is what makes him dangerous. Cody then says he is walking into Hell In A Cell into the hardest challenge of his career, and tells Rollins that he will be in the cell with a man who will want to hurt him very badly. Suddenly, Rollins shows up in the crowd. Rollins bluntly tells Cody that he does not like him and does not want him in WWE after trying to accept the new version of Cody only for the pandering to get worse and the chants to get louder until it is all he could hear. Rollins says he cannot stand this any longer, saying that Cody left WWE six years ago because he was not good enough and that he and his friends tried to tear down what he built only to come back as a prodigal son to fulfill a family legacy when that did not work out for him. He says that Cody does not become the hero on his watch after smashing the throne, then tells Cody once again that he does not like him, does not want him and only wants to prey on his insecurities and end him so all can "wake up from the American nightmare." Cody asks Rollins why they are waiting to do this when the time for talking is over and they can fight right now. Rollins unbuttons his jacket as he teases jumping the barricade only to tell Cody he will see him Sunday. As Rollins leaves, Cody jumps the barricade and brawls with Rollins in the crowd, and Cody puts Rollins through the barricade before getting the upper hand on him as officials and referees separate both men. Rollins then runs into the ring and tries to leap at Cody, and both men have to be separated again. Just when everything is under control, Cody runs at Rollins, and this time both men are on the floor before they are pulled apart. (Interestingly, one of the officials is Curtis Axel, who was released from WWE two years ago; he is now back as a producer.)

They then ask The Miz about Hell In A Cell only to be told The Rock-style it does not matter. As The Street Profits mess around with The Miz, Dana Brooke shows up and Akira Tozawa tries to take the 24/7 Championship form her. T-Bar gets involved only to be superkicked by Montez, Tamina shows up at the same time as T-Bar, and R-Truth and Apollo Crews also show up. Crews gets knocked out by Angelo Dawkins, and Dana Brooke and Tamina go at it. At this point, there is a referee in the ring. Tamina then picks up Akira Tozawa and kisses him, and she and Akira Tozawa celebrate only for Tozawa to win the title off her with a backslide pin.

Austin Theory guests on commentary for the next match.

Mustafa Ali beats Tommaso Ciampa by disqualification and earns a shot at the WWE United States Championship after Austin Theory pulls Ali off the top and sends him falling into the ring apron. After the match, Austin Theory continues to attack Mustafa Ali, and throws him into the ring post before telling Ali that a win by disqualification may be a coward's way out, but a win is a win and he is on another level. Theory then asks why they should wait when they can go at it for the United States title right now.

Austin Theory retains the WWE United States Championship against a battered Mustafa Ali. After the match, WWE official Adam Pearce shows up and tells Theory that Vince McMahon would rather see him and Ali in a fair fight and a championship rematch at Hell In A Cell.

Bobby Lashley heads to the ring. After the match, Omos and MVP head to the ring, which now has chairs, a table, a security detail and the presence of WWE official Adam Pearce, who is here to oversee a contract signing. Both Omos and Lashley wait before taking a seat when asked, then MVP says it should not have come to this and that he did everything for him, and that on Sunday, the only thing waiting for Lashley that he and Omos will put on him. He says "the All Mighty Era" exists because of him, and on Sunday, it ends once and for all. He and Omos then sign the contract as Lashley tells MVP he has it wrong and that he never needed it. As Lashley calls MVP a leach who feeds off him, MVP tells him to stop talking and sign the contract. Lashley says this is an opportunity to send MVP and Omos to Hell before signing the contract. MVP says Lashley is full of anxious energy waiting for Hell In A Cell, then says nobody wants to wait. He and Omos stand up, as does Lashley, and Lashley throws the table out of the ring before Pearce calls security in. Lashley and Omos toss security out of the ring while MVP watches from outside, then Cedric Alexander blindsides Lashley. Lashley soon fights back and fends off both Cedric and Omos only to get a big boot from Omos. MVP then goes for the ground and pound on Lashley before commanding Omos to get a table.
