While the blue mist is still affecting her a little bit, her mind has never been more clear, and she is not giving Asuka a rematch, but a fight, at Night of Champions, until she retains her title. He then says that Roman uses The Usos and treats them as "the appendix of the table" as if they were expendable and have gone from the greatest tag team to Roman's errand boys, but Jimmy Uso says that as far as things go, he is the Tribal Chief. Roman Reigns' entrance theme immediately hits, then Roman confronts The Usos and tosses the microphons out of The Usos' hands. Raw Deal - Raw recap for January 30, 2023

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Cody says that he is not the same person he was when he started his journey fifteen years ago, and that he has thought about his first show at Ohio Valley Wrestling when he thought he would be WWE Champion in two years or the next John Cena. He says that if he could go back and talk to his younger self, he actually would not tell him exactly how his career would really go because everything in his career has been "100% worth it." He says that wrestling - and WWE - has more than one royal family, and for that to be true, he has to stand across from another and stand across Roman Reigns, and while he has respect for Roman, he will end his championship reign at WrestleMania. Suddenly, The Judgment Day (Finn Balor, Damian Priest, Dominik Mysterio) show up, and Finn Balor asks Cody if he is returning to do something original or knock off his old stuff like he has done before. Dominik says that Cody ruined their plans at Royal Rumble even as Rhea Ripley succeeded at hers. He goes on to say that he should have won the Royal Rumble, then Finn Balor jokingly asks what happened to Rey Mysterio. Dominik says that Cody put his hands on him and ruined his moment, but if Cody did that in prison, he would have "got got." Damian Priest says Dominik should be the only multi-generational talent headling WrestleMania, not some suck-up who is given whatever he wants. After stating that Rhea worked to win her Rumble match, he says that Cody was handed the #30 position in his. Dominik says that Cody owes him for ruining his Royal Rumble moment, but Cody interrupts and asks Dominik if he is trying to scare him straight. As he says he has respect for Rey, Dominik says he has none for him or anyone else's father. He says that he is the aggressiveness the new generation needs and that no amount of aggression can stop him. MVP says he can see himself in Theory, but reminds Theory there is no telling who will be in the match with him. After a discussion about how dangerous Bobby Lashley is, Theory says that Lashley and MVP should be worried about Lashley's health, not his, as MVP's "meal ticket" is about to be eaten up by Brock Lesnar. Lashley shows up and attacks Theory, but when Lashley goes for a Spear, Theory pulls MVP into harm's way before retreating.

Bayley says she is smart and that Becky has to make everything about herself, then says that Becky is overrated and is not good enough to be famous, to be a champion, to be the ring with her one-on-one, or for her husband Seth Rollins. She also says that Seth married her only because he knocked her up. Becky says she thought they were fighting only over wrestling, but knows this is personal, and demands a steel cage match with her next week. Bayley declines, then Becky heads to the back and drags Dakota Kai - with a chair around her ankle - to the stage. Becky threatens to injure Dakota if she does not get what she wants, and Bayley accepts. Becky tells Bayley she can bring her friends with her, but she might want to check on Iyo Sky first. She then leaves.

In the locker room, Byron Saxton interviews Rick Boogs. He says it feels like he is climbing a mountain in a loincloth and he wants to scream at the top of his lungs. He says it is great to be back, and while the road to recovery has been long, he is back. As The Street Profits talk about how Rick can shred on a guitar, Elias says it takes time to be an artist. Byron Saxton then mentions the Elimination Chamber qualifying match between Montez Ford and Elias as well as Dawkins' qualifying match against Damian Priest. Both men say they will win and must become United States Champion, but Angelo Dawkins says he will beat Damian Priest and go on to be champion.

Charlotte Flair heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Charlotte says that she will win the women's Royal Rumble match despite how unpredictable it can be, and says that she takes control of the situation instead of waiting for things to happen, which makes her the most dominant champion in WWE. She then says that she will change the game again when she wins the match and picks a challenger for WrestleMania, then "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler shows up. Shayna says Charlotte is an incredible performer, but she will not hesitate to snap her like a twig limb from limb, and after she throws her over the top rope, she will not hesitate to challenge her and hope she is healed up in time. Aliyah shows up and admits she has a lot of butterflies in her stomach from being in her first Royal Rumble and hopefully her first WrestleMania, but Charlotte says she has no chance. She mentions her win against Natalya, then Natalya shows up. Natalya says Aliyah is rude, clueless, delusional and lucky, but not optimistic, and says her win against her was a fluke and that she will hold a fourth Guinness World Record before Shotzi shows up. Shotzi says the situation allows her to sneak right in and seize the spotlight, then Charlotte says nobody belongs in the ring with her and has no chance tomorrow night when Sasha Banks shows up. Sasha says she is back and ready to rumble, then slaps Charlotte in the face. This starts a brawl, but Charlotte stands tall until she notices Sasha in the ring. Sasha tosses her over the top rope to be the last woman standing.

Backstage, Megan Morant interviews Ridge Holland and Sheamus. Ridge says he can still hear the crunch when his nose got injured, and he plans to stomp out Ricochet like the parasite that he is. Naomi beats Sonya Deville in a fair match called down the middle. After the match, Naomi says that after 153 days of Sonya Deville throwing everything she could at her, Sonya could not stop the glow and she shined through like she will shine through at the women's Royal Rumble match. Naomi then tells Sonya not to slip on her tears on the way out. Sonya heads to the back and grabs a microphone to tell Naomi that she cannot put her in the Royal Rumble without a little surprise: she is entering the match as well.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso). Jey says that just because they are banned from ringside, it does not mean that Roman Reigns will lose the Universal title. Suddenly, The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) show up. The Usos make fun of them, but they admit that they love a fast and command a very manly odor before stating they love their axes, which they pull out before saying they can trim a beard or cut a championship belt in half with them. The Usos leave.

Roman Reigns heads to the ring. After the commercial break, Seth Rollins heads to the ring. Seth brags that he played Roman like a fiddle last week and thanks him for doing the right thing and getting The Usos disqualified so their match can be one-on-one. Roman says it was a simple decision of letting Rollins embarrass the family by pinning The Usos or punching Rollins in the face, then says that he is in "God Mode" now. Seth then talks about how he cashed the Money In The Bank briefcase on him or beating Roman, sent him packing for thirty days after coming back from injury and turned on him to break up The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns). Roman calls the first two things "water under the bridge," but the third one visibly gets under Roman's skin, and Rollins says that when he put the chair in his back, he did it for his own good and knew it would rocket him to superstardom. Seth then says that Roman has done it all except beat him when it matters most, and tomorrow night, it will not be personal when he beats him for the Universal Championship, because he will always love him. Roman says he tried to forgive Seth for destroying The Shield, then says he will never forgive what Seth did to them and says that he hates him, and Rollins says he will hate him even more when he makes him and his family a joke and makes it all end up in smoke. Lesnar then jokingly tells Roman to acknowledge him before saying Roman has a lot to say all the time and that he does not, and that they both got what they wanted last Saturday before giving the fans what they want: title vs. title and champion vs. champion. Roman says it's a good idea, but not his idea, and that SmackDown is his show and that they do what he does on his time. He also says he does not do business with people who business with "trash like Paul Heyman." Charlotte says that this is an incredible list, then says she has someone very special that she will be announcing as another competitor and someone that everyone admires: herself. She says that she will be the first champion to enter the Royal Rumble and pick who she will defend the championship against, then Naomi shows up. Naomi says Charlotte does not have to wait until WrestleMania and put the title on the line against her right now, but Charlotte says Naomi has done nothing to deserve a title match against her. Naomi slaps her, then Charlotte runs at her only to get tossed out of the ring.

Charlotte Flair retains the WWE SmackDown Women's Championship against Naomi. During the match, WWE official Sonya Deville shows up to keep moving the goalposts for the match, making it so that the match cannot be won by count-out or disqualification and that the match can only be won by pinfall or submission. McIntyre's theme hits, then Madcap Moss shows up with a cane in one hand, a rubber sword in the other and a brace around his neck. Madcap pretends to be McIntyre, he can survive anything after having eaten haggis, then says that Corbin would massacre him and that he would soil his pants, not that anyone would notice. He also says that he will use his injury to pursue poetry about the Loch Ness Monster and watercolor painting. After Madcap Moss reveals it was him all along, The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) show up and chase Corbin and Moss out of the ring.

When Heyman keeps talking, Sami stands up and insists he was not finished talking, then says he knows Roman Reigns is not here tonight. He says that if Heyman wants to stand alone and insult him, he will rip his head off, and without Roman, there is no one to save him. Brock Lesnar shows up, grabs a chair, and instead of using it as a weapon in the ring, he sets the chair down. Lesnar then asks Heyman to hand him the microphone. Heyman asks if rumors about Brock Lesnar is the best she has, saying that he and Roman do not do rumors on the island of relevancy and that Kayla just wants to put the spotlight on herself. He tells Kayla to dig through sources and come with a confirmation or denial, and to come with facts in Roman's presence and that she lives through an Instagram filter before telling her to leave the ring. Kayla leaves. This leads to the crowd chanting "We want Brock," and Roman tells Heyman that the problem with rumors is that they give losers false hope, and compared to him, everyone is a loser around here. After saying that he does not care about rumors, Roman also calls Big E a loser after smashing him last week, and says they are two people in a long list and that he is now running laps around the roster. She says that as Becky is still "Big Time Bex" in fantasy land, she is still the most dominant woman in sports entertainment.
