Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for September 16, 2023

Dustin Starr interviews Mackenzie Morgan at the announce desk. Mackenzie is now quite sure what to do as champion since winning the women's title from Nyxx, and after a replay of how Mackenzie won the title, Nixi XS and The O'Neal Brothers (Devin and Steven O'Neal) show up. Nixi XS says Mackenzie Morgan is not a real champion as she is broke and tired and her title is the only thing of value that she has. Mackenzie takes this a challenge, and Nixi XS says that if Mackenzie does give it to her, the O'Neal Brothers will make it happen.

Mackenzie Morgan retains the Memphis Wrestling Women's Championship against Nixi XS after The O'Neal Brothers (Devin and Steven O'Neal) distract the referee and hold down Mackenzie only for Mackenzie to duck and Nixi XS to hit the wrong target.

We get a photo recap of what happened at Bicentennial Bash at the Dyer County Fair.

We hear from Memphis Wrestling superstars regarding Bicentennial Bash at the Dyer County Fair.

We see footage from the WrestleCenter meet and greet with "The Real1" NZO (formerly Enzo Amore).

Dustin Starr interviews "The Real1" NZO (formerly Enzo Amore) at the announce desk. As NZO shows up with his own microphone, leads his usual chants and heads to the ring, The Hollywood Clique ("Hollywood" Jimmy Blaylock, Van Viciouss, Secret Service) shows up. Blaylock and Viciouss says NZO should be checking in with them, because they run things in Memphis and Viciouss was on the highest-rated episode of Young Rock. As Blaylock boasts that he has NZO's twin brother with him today, NZO says The Hollywood Clique is "a curtain fall" and not "a curtain call," then says Viciouss "told Victoria's Secret" and bought his outfit from there as the fans chant "pink panties." Blaylock then brings out BENZO - a Secret Service member with a fake blonde wig - and NZO asks who wore pink better between him and Viciouss, with the fans picking NZO. Viciouss says he will beat NZO all over the ring, and NZO threatens to beat the diabetes out of Blaylock and put Viciouss in a "cankle lock" before challenging Viciouss to a match.

"The Real1" NZO beats Van Viciouss despite the constant interference from "BENZO."

Tim Grind shows up at the WrestleCenter with his mystery ally, who is out of sight.

Backstage, Mike Anthony and K-Toomer talk about the upcoming Fatal 5-Way Match. Anthony says K-Toomer stepped up when he had no friends, and now they have to step up against each other and three other opponents. Both agrees that this is just business. Uncle Mikey shows up and asks if they can believe they are all in the Fatal 5-Way Match, then says he can be serious as well and leaves. We then hear from "Casanova" Colton Cage. Cage says he has made both good and bad decisions, but they have all led him to next week's Fatal 5-Way Match to become #1 contender for the Memphis Heritage Championship and he plans to walk out the winner. We also hear from "Big Swole" Justin Cole, who says that he is also in that match as he tells all of his opponents to pack a lunch.

Backstage, Terrence Ward interviews Tim Bosby. Bosby says he pinned and submitted Austin Lane, but Austin Lane needed Nikki Lane's help to get his two wins. He then says that when he looks for Austin Lane, he cannot find him, and he tells Austin Lane to be a man because he is looking to get the Memphis Wrestling Internet Championship and Austin Lane will not beat him a third time.

We see segments of Dustin Starr's recent interview with JTG, who is coming to Memphis Wrestling next weekend.

Dustin Starr interviews Tim Grind at the announce desk. Tim Grind says he did not show up alone, and addresses not just The Posse (Simon and Mr. Chris) but also Lance McKay, saying Lance has made his choice, and while he will always love him, he will step into the ring with Tim Grind and not his father next time. He then calls out The Posse and Lance, and they all show up as Tim Grind gets in the ring. The Posse and Lance surround the ring and gang up on him, but Tim Grind outsmarts The Posse and has Lance where he wants him as he pulls off his belt. Tim Grind finally get his hands on Lance as he escapes and whips him with the belt, but The Posse attack Tim from behind. Simon and Mr. Chris whip Tim Grind with his own belt before handing the belt to Lance. As Lance is about to strike Tim Grind, Flex - Tim Grind's partner in Too Cool II - shows up and fends Lance and The Posse off. Dustin Starr interviews Tim Grind and Flex at the announce desk, and Tim Grind says blood is thicker than water, and they both agree "That's the business, dawg!"
