Grand Slam - Rampage recap for September 22, 2023

Darby Allin and Sting beat Christian Cage and Luchasaurus as Nick Wayne distracts Christian as he goes for the Killswitch on Darby, allowing Darby to win with a jackkinfe pin.

Orange Cassidy, Hook and Kris Statlander beat "Cool Hand" Angelo Parker, "Daddy Magic" Matt Menard and Anna Jay in a mixed trios match.

It's time for QTV. Johnny TV and Harley Cameron roll some footage of QT Marshall performing in Mexico, then Johnny TV gets a text for a tag team partner next week for someone he has known for a long time with long hair and fresh breath: Johnny TV, not Aaron Solo.

Tony Schiavone interviews Don Callis and Konosuke Takeshita in the ring. Callis says that a few weeks ago, the wrestling world was abuzz at his so-called pursuit of Chris Jericho, and while he did not end up with Jericho, he ended up with the man he really wanted: Sammy Guevara, whom he brings out. Sammy tells Callis that he hated him almost as much as the fans do for a long time because he thought he was trying to rip apart his family, but he was really telling him that he never really had one until now. Sammy then says that he turned on Jericho because he held him back and took him for granted just like the fans did for a long time, then says he does not need the fans and is tired of earning their love after having a wife, a kid and a fat paycheck. He then says Chris Jericho is dead to him and that he never wants to see him again, then Chris Jericho shows up. Jericho runs into the ring and fights Sammy and Takeshita, then Callis attacks him from behind. Jericho confronts Callis until Takeshita hits Jericho in the back with a chair, then Sammy takes the chair and hits Jericho in the back with it. Callis then beats up on Jericho, but when he is about to stab Jericho with the screwdriver, Kenny Omega rushes out to the ring and makes the save with a pipe. As Callis, Takeshita, and Sammy retreat, Jericho inadvertently backs into Omega. Omega drops his pipe, then leaves.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Kenny Omega, who says that it is all about taking care of Don Callis. Chris Jericho shows up and tells him that while he appreciates him saving him, AEW was built on their rivalry. He then says that Callis' biggest nightmare is coming true and that Sammy Guevara is "the real Judas," then proposes they team up against The Don Calls Family at WrestleDream. Omega tells Don Callis that WrestleDream will be a "WrestleNightmare" for him. Jericho then proposes a six-man tag team match against the two of them and Kota Ibushi.

The Righteous (Vincent and Dutch) beat Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta), The Kingdom (Matt Taven and Mike Bennett) and The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) to become #1 contenders for the Ring of Honor World Tag Team Championships after Jeff Hardy hits Chuck Taylor with the Swanton Bomb only for Vincent to hit Jeff Hardy with the Death From Above for the win.

We hear from Mike Santana, who says that tonight, everyone will find out what his recovery was all about and that he has survived too much to walk away. He says that if anyone gets between him and his money, he will put them down. He says that he is getting what is his, and if anyone does not like it, they can either fight him or fire him, and that everyone has two choices: get down or lay down.

The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster, Anthony Bowens, "Daddy Ass" Billy Gunn) retain the AEW World Trios Championships against The Dark Order (Evil Uno, Alex Reynolds, John Silver).

Julia Hart beats Skue Blue with Hartless. After the match, Hart puts Skye Blue in the hold again, then Willow Nightingale shows up and runs into the ring, forcing Hart to retreat.

We hear from Bullet Club Gold ("Switchblade" Jay White, "Rock Hard" Juice Roinson, Austin Gunn, Colton Gunn). As Colton Gunn works on his Spanish, "Switchblade" Jay White says that the world knows him and that Andrade el Idolo wants the world to know his name in the same breadth, and that they will when he beats Andrade on Collision.

Mike Santana beats Bronson. After the match, Ortiz shows up on the stage, and Santana and Ortiz have a brief confrontation before Santana heads to the back.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) and "Hangman" Adam Page beat The Mogul Embassy ("The Machine" Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) to become the Ring of Honor World Six-Man Tag Team Champions after Adam Page counters the Drill Claw with a roll-up. During the match, Swerve Strickland shows up to watch from the stage, which brielfy distracts "Hangman" Adam Page.
