Final IMPACT - IMPACT Wrestling recap for September 7, 2023

Before the next match, Jason Hotch makes fun of Canada for calling the letter Z "Zed" and that ABC ("Inevitable" Ace Austin and Chris Bey) are insane if they think they can get by these good hands.

"Inevitable" Ace Austin beats Jason Hotch in the BTI Match.

"The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo beats Dani Luna with the Fujiwara Arm Bar.

We hear from Crazzy Steve, who says one gets one deserves and that it is the painful truth, yet there are people who think they deserve more because they feel rules and regulations apply to them. He says he is not like everybody else and that he is not crazy and is self-aware of all of his actions. He says that he saw an ember of what a raging bull in Black Taurus' eyes and that he was going to do the same thing that everyone has done to him and leave him abandoned, alone and forgotten. He says that at Victory Road, he is going to decapitate and decimate the unholy alliance that was once the enemy.

We hear from Tommy Dreamer, who says that he will put everything on the line tonight against Kenny King because Kenny is the opposite of everything he has ever been. Tommy talks about his history with professional wrestling at tonight's venue and how his parents were there for every moment, then Heath shows up and is amazed that Tommy is putting his life and career on the line tonight when he is respected by everyone, and asks him to take a step, swallow his pride and reassess this, as he has helped so many people out and now may not be the right time. Tommy takes this as a sign that he should go on with this and thanks Heath before leaving.

JOYA (Joe Hendry and Yuya Uemura) beat Champagne Singh and Shera.

Backstage, we hear from Steve Maclin and Bully Ray. He says that everything they planned is right there. Bully Ray says that Maclin does not quite get it and that it is everything Maclin wants, and that he wants Carl Oullette, not PCO, as none of them have had any success with PCO. He says Maclin has it easy while he has to face a monster that nobody can keep down, and tells Maclin to trust him and be a good soldier, but Maclin says Bully is in his own head. He says he will follow Bully's lead, but if he has to take care of himself, he will do it.

We look back on Gail Kim becoming the inaugural Knockouts Champion.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander. He says Steve Maclin is back and has made a statement, and that they have unfinished business they will settle at Victory Road to see who the better man is. He says he is also all too familiar with Bully Ray, and that he and PCO will make a statement and bring the violence to them.

Rich Swann and Sami Callihan beat Subculture (Mark Andrews and "Flash" Morgan Webster).

We hear from "The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw. She says that the Shaw-tourage (Shaw, Jai Vidal, Savannah Evans) got screwed out of the Knockouts tag titles, but at the battle royal, they took care of MK Ultra (Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly) and showed that they are a threat to the Knockouts division. She tells MK Ultra to keep a hold on their titles, because they are taking back what is theirs.

We hear from The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz). Trey says the tag team titles represent a lot of history that others have tried to keep them from, and says that they will make their own history. The Good Hands (John Skyler and Jason Hotch) show up, and Skyler says they deserve a tag team title shot. Wentz says they are focused on The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley), and Hotch proposes they get a tag team title match set up for after Victory Road. Wentz says "Maybe," as they still have to be champions for that to happen.

Lio Rush beats Kevin Knight. After the match, Lio Rush continues to attack Kevin Knight before putting him in the Hoverboard Lock. KUSHIDA runs into the ring and levels Lio Rush, then goes for a Hoverboard Lock of his own. Lio Rush blocks the hold and rolls out of the ring.

We hear from Dirty Dango and John E. Bravo. Dango says he hopes he is not around for Episode #2000, and says that he thinks of some of the earliest stars in the company's history when he looks back on Impact back when it was TNA, then dedicates Episode #1000 to Dixie Carter. He then calls Jake Something the epitome of "The Gratitude Era of professonal wrestling," and says that while he loves the Boston Red Sox, they are not starting him next week.

We see footage of Jordynne Grace tearing up a picture of "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo.

Director of Authority Santino Marella oversees a contract signing between Alisha Edwards and Trinity for the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Championship at Victory Road. Alisha comes out first with Eddie Edwards, followed by Trinity. Alisha mocks Santino's accents as well as those of the fans, then says that the fans and Trinity both need to understand her. Alisha says she has been in IMPACT for a very long time and that everyone thought she was "just a champion's wife," but now things are champion. She says that she thought she needed to change Eddie, but she realized she needed to change, and she beat nine other Knockouts in a battle royal to become #1 contender for the Knockouts World Championship. Alisha says she will become the next Knockouts Champion at Victory Road, then signs the contract. Trinity signs the contract, but Alisha is disappointed that Trinity does not even have the decently to reply back. Trinity asks Alisha if she is talking to her, as she cannot understand her accent. This leads to a "Boston Sucks" chant, then Trinity admits that while she was excited to take on the Knockouts division, she has overlooked Alisha. She then says that Alisha has gotten her attention and that she has earned her opportunity, but Alisha says she does not need to hear what she has earned as Trinity has been given everything. Trinity says she could have gone anywhere, but she chose IMPACT because it is where the fiercest competition lies. Eddie interrupts Trinity, telling her not to wave the IMPACT banner him and saying that he and Alisha have been around longer than everybody, and Alisha says Trinity is jealous that she will have Eddie backing her up while Trinity's man can't even be here if he wanted to. Trinity says Alisha has some nerve after turning her back on her company before calling Eddie "Mr. Alisha" and telling him to fall back and stop waving the banner. Alisha throws her drink at Trinity, and after Trinity gets the drink out of her eyes, she kicks Alisha in the head. This leads to a brawl. amd Eddie grabs Trinity to put her through the table with a Blue Thunder Bomb before Trinity can put Alisha through it. Frankie Kazarian soon shows up to run Eddie and Alisha out of the ring.

We hear from The Motor City Machine Guns. Chris Sabin says The Rascalz have embarassed themselves, the tag titles, and the company for too long, and it is over at Victory Road. Alex Shelley says The Rascalz have a long way to go to reach their level and says that The Rascalz have the title because they let them have it, and at Victory Road, the titles will be theirs again.

Bully Ray and Steve Maclin beat "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander and PCO. During the match, Bully Ray tries to get through to PCO only for PCO to go for a choke slam. Maclin hits a chop block on PCO, then Bully hits PCO with a low blow as the referee is trying to avoid getting hit to get the win.
