IMPACT 1000 - IMPACT Wrestling recap for September 21, 2023

MK Ultra (Masha Slamovich and Killer Kelly) retain the IMPACT Wrestling Knockouts World Tag Team Championships against The Death Dollz (Courtney Rush and Jessicka) in the BTI Match.

Alan Angels beats Speedball Bailey, Rich Swann, Samuray del Sol, Zachary Wentz and "Inevitable" Ace Austin in an Ultimate X Match to become #1 contender to the IMPACT Wrestling X Division Championship.

Backstage, Alan Angels says that he is the future of the X Division, then says that he is cashing his X in next week and he will see Chris Sabin then.

Jake Something beats Dirty Dango despite John E. Bravo - now known as Alpha Bravo - getting on the ring apron brandishing a flashlight so that Dirty Dango can hit a cheap shot. For this match only, the Fox Box - top and bottom match graphics showing the current match, the amount of time left in the match and scrolling text (which displays the latest IMPACT news) similar to the ones from when IMPACT debuted on Fox Sports Net - are on the screen. Chase Stevens of The Naturals is seen watching the match to render a decision in case of a ten-minute time limit draw.

We hear from Steve Maclin, who says that Rhino cost him a Feast or Fired Briefcase last week, and after he says that he plans to end his career, Rhino rushes in and hits him with a Gore.

Backstage, Director of Authority chews out Rhino for attacking Steve Maclin and messing up one of tonight's matches, but Rhino says he did not go far enough taking Maclin out.

Eric Young beats Kenny King by disqualification after Sheldon Jean attacks Eric Young, and after the match, Scott D'Amore cracks Sheldon Jean in the back with his flag pole. Deputy Director of Authority Shark Boy shows up and makes the match a tag team match, but The Design (Deaner and Kon) attack Eric Young and Scott D'Amore and Kenny King and Sheldon Jean join in. Shark Boy shows up again and makes the match an eight-man tag match, with America's Most Wanted ("The Cowboy" James Storm and "Wildcat" Chris Harris) teaming with Eric Youna and Scott D'Amore.

Team Canada (Eric Young and Scott D'Amore) and America's Most Wanted ("The Cowboy" James Storm and "Wildcat" Chris Harris) beat Kenny King, Sheldon Jean and The Design (Deaner and Kon) in an eight-man tag match.

In footage from last week, Bully Ray says it has been seven long years and that there is no other place where he and Brother Devon could have done their reunion match than IMPACT Wrestling. Brother Devon thanks the fans for welcoming them back after seven long years and says that it is because of the IMPACT fans that he wanted to come back after having back surgery and a stroke.

Dave LaGreca of Busted Open Radio oversees the results of the Feast or Fired match from last week. Yuya Uemura expects to get a tag team title shot. Chris Bey also expects a tag team title shot as well. Moose also wants a tag team title shot. Crazzy Steve says "Heart...liver...lungs, maybe?" when asked what he expects in his briefcase. Crazzy Steve opens Briefcase #1, which contains a Digital Media Title opportunity. He keeps saying "And the world was full of Dreamers..." as he leaves. Moose opens Briefcase #2, which contains a World Title opportunity. Chris Bey opens Briefcase #3, which contains the Tag Team Title opportunity. This leaves Yuya Uemura with Briefcase #4, and he says "No champions" before opening the briefcase. Yuya Uemura is fired.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander beats Trey Miguel after Alex Shelley takes Zachary Wentz out on the outside for hitting Alexander with a high knee on the outside as the referee checks on Trey. After the match, Alexander thanks Shelley for being in his corner and wishes he had it earlier, but Shelley tells him not to mix up his signals as he wanted to hurt The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wentz), not him. Alexander then tells Shelley that he is taking the World title back at Bound For Glory.

It is announced that Will Ospreay will wrestle "Speedball" Mike Bailey at Bound For Glory. Backstage, Mike Bailey is bet by Jonathan Gresham, who has not been seen in a while. Jonathan Gresham says he is here to wrestle his way to the top, and he plans to do that in clean matches. Mike Bailey tells Gresham that he has the perfect opponent for him and that both people will come out of it better. The aforementioned opponent is Bailey himself.

Backstage, The Rascalz (Trey Miguel and Zachary Wnetz) are meant by John Skyler, wanting a tag team title. Wentz says this is not a good time, but Skyler says they would not be tag team champions if it were not for them. Chris Bey shows up with his tag team title shot briefcase and "Inevitable" Ace Austin and tells Skyler to go to the back of the line, but Skyler tells Bey his guarantee means nothing and that he is lucky to have the briefcase while The Rascalz leave as he asks The Rascalz if he is right. Skyler looks around and finds out he has no allies in the locker room.

"The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander vs. Alex Shelley for the IMPACT World Championship is official for Bound For Glory.

Trinity, Jordynne Grace, Mickie James, Gail Kim and Awesome Kong beat "The Virtuosa" Deonna Purrazzo, Tasha Steelz, "The Quintessential Diva" Gisele Shaw, Savannah Evans and Angelina Love in a ten-Knockout tag team match.

Here's tonight's post-show!
