Carmelo says he did not plan for The Great American Bash to go the way that he did, and that he will walk into No Mercy knowing that he will beat Dragunov, and Dragunov mentions that Carmelo struggles outside of his comfrot zone with his confidence and will know unbearable pain. Carmelo says the real unbearable pain is Dragunov believing his own hype, but Dragon asks Carmelo what will happen if Carmelo gives his best and it is not enough. Carmelo says being NXT Champion is about being undeniable and being "Him," and that he wants Dragunov to realize that he is unlike those he has beaten before - including Trick Williams, whose name he accidentally blurts out - and that they will get rid of those "what ifs." Dragunov signs the contract, then slams it down on the table in front of Carmelo and tells him that he will do nothing because he cannot do nothing. He says that he will push Carmelo to his limits, and that when he becomes NXT Championship, Carmelo's dynasty will fall. Carmelo signs the contract. Carmelo then tells Dragunov that the NXT Championship is bigger than both of them and that while Dragunov can carry the NXT Championship and its responsibilities, he cannot do it better than he can. Afterwards, it is announced that Dragon Lee will be the special guest referee for Trick Williams vs. "Dirty" Dominik Mysterio for the North American Championship, then it is revealed that Bron Breakker and Carmelo Hayes are fighting outside of the building. Bron goes for a Spear, but Corbin dodges and Bron hits the car door. This leads to Corbin choke slamming Bron on top of the car, but Bron gets back up.
