Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for September 7, 2023

Backstage at All Out, Athena checks out Billie Starkz for not helping her team win and calls her an idiot for it. Suddenly, Allysin Kay shows up and chews Athena out for talking to Billie like she is and challenges her. Athena tells her to wrestle the other "porcelain hussies," as she is not coming for the TOH Women's World Championship. Allysin Kay takes this as Athena making their match for the ROH Women's World Championship, and is about to dare Athena to put the title on the line when Billie asks Athena if she is scared. Athena says she will put her title on the line, but states that when she beats Allysin, she does not want to see her again.

Athena retains the ROH Women's World Championship against Allysin Kay. After the match, Athena demands that Billie Starkz drive Allysin's head into the ROH Women's World Championship, but Billie refuses and Athena does it herself before yelling at Billie.

Before the next match, "Smart" Mark Sterling demands that the fans stop thinking about food for one second, as "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese has something to say. Nese says it was almost three months ago in this very ring and building and gave the fans the greatest advice they have ever been given, which is to get in shape. He then says he was excited to come back, as he wanted to see what the fans have done with that progress, and tonight, they will see what Chicago, Illinois has tonight when everyone does group training. Nese is disappointed after stretching and jogging in place, and says none of the fans can keep up with his group training for there is not a single man in this crowd. This leads to "The Last Real Man" Silas Young showing up for the next match.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Dalton Castle. Castle says he is exhausted as he has this goal in front of him and roadblocks in his way, and says that he is bamboozled. He says that he has a smorgasbord of problems getting in the way of his ROH goals and what he has to do, and has to take a big drink of water to clam down. He says he cannot be excited about his new T-shirt because he has to deal with his problems, and admits that he does not know where to begin.

The Spanish Announce Project (Angelico and Serpentico) beat Adam Priest and Schaff by submission.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Kiera Hogan. She says that she and Leila Grey do not have a problem, but regardless of who her opponent is, she will show why she is the hottest. She also says that if Leila Grey cannot handle her heat - which she knows she can - she can get out of her kitchen.

Willow Nightingale and Skye Blue beat The Renegades (Charlette and Robyn Renegade).

The Mogul Embassy ("The Machine" Brian Cage, Bishop Kaun, Toa Liona) beat Griff Garrison, Metalik and Gravity in an ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships Proving Ground Match.

Kiera Hogan beats Leila Grey after Leila tries to user her fan as a weapon only to get superkicked.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Maria Kanellis-Bennett. She says she has an opportunity to offer to Griff Garrison in-person first, then says she loves providing opportunities and that this opportunity is for protecting a legacy built by her kingdom. Cole Karter brings out Griff Garrison, and Maria tells Griff Garrison that he is full of raw potential if he is surrounded by the right people, and says that she and Karter are "those right people."

The Infantry ("The Captain" Shawn Dean and "Bad News and Tattoos" Carlie Bravo) and Willie Mack beat Davey Bang, August Mtthews and Jah-C in a six-man tag match.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews Lee Johnson. He says a shot at the ROH World Championship sounds great to him, because he is back and he is hungry, and he feels like he can beat any obstacle in his way. He says that Claudio Castagnoli is that obstacle tonight, and that he is not here to take part; he is here to take over, and all he needs is one shot.

"Legit" Leyla Hirsch beats Lady Frost with the cross arm breaker. Maria Kanellis-Bennett and Cole Karter watch from the stage midway through the match. After the match, Maria offers to shake Leyla's hand, but Leyla walks off, saying she does not need Maria and that she is doing just fine.

Eddie Kingston and Katsuyori Shibata beat Gringo Loco and "All Heart" Blake Christian.

Backstage, Lexy Nair interviews "Smart" Mark Sterling and "The Technical Beast" Josh Woods. Sterling says that Woods is a future legend and that the talent here is not up to snuff for him, then issues an open challenge to the best pure wrestlers around the world.

The Iron Savages (Boulder and Bronson) beat Caleb Konley and Ren Jones.

Backstage, Lexy Nair - who happens to have the "Athena's Bestie" tanktop underneath her jacket - interviews Athena and Billie Starkz. Athena chews Billie out for leaving her hanging three times in a row, and Athena decides to give Billie "minion training."

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent Beretta), Action Andretti and Darius Martin beat The Outrunners (Truth Magnum and Turbo Floyd) and The Workhorsemen (JD Drake and Anthony Henry) in an eight-man tag match.
