Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 11, 2022

It's time for Miz TV to start tonight's show. Tonight's special guest is "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes. He says that while Seth Rollins is good, he considers himself that much better, then introduces Cody. Miz mentions Cody's promo from the beginning of last week's show, and says that if it were not for Cody's family name, he would "just be a plumber." Cody says being a plumber would be a pretty good thing right now because Miz is "completely full of bullshit," but mouths the last word and tells Miz that he has not changed a day, calling him arrogant, egotistical and a full blown carnie, which makes him reliable. Cody then says that he has changed and that he realized what he needs to win: win the WWE Championship belt. Miz says it's a title and that a belt holds up one's pants, then says it is a long way off as Seth "Freakin'" Rollins wants a rematch. Miz tells Cody he does not like his chances against Rollins and that he does not like his chances against him, then takes offense to Cody being the talk of social media despite beating Rey and Dominik Mysterio and turning on Logan Paul. He says that Raw is his show and he will not stand for being embarrassed on his own show, but Cody tells him to settle down and tells him that he respects him and all of his accomplishments and that Miz's hostility comes from Miz being threatened by him. Cody says he has no problem with Rollins, whom he says gave him a good and is welcoming of a rematch, and that while he has come back to beat the best wrestlers in WWE, he is looking forward to tonight's match with Miz. Cody then says "May the best man win" before passing the microphone over to him. Miz tries to go for a cheap shot, but Cody sees it coming and sends him tumbling out of the ring.

Veer Mahaan beats Dominik Mysterio by submission, then continues to attack Dominik. Officials have to get Veer to break the hold, but Veer goes back to it for a little while longer. A stretcher is then brought out for Dominik Mysterio, who is fitted with a neck brace.

Backstage, Dominik Mysterio is helped into an ambulance as Kevin Patrick interviews Veer Mahaan, who says that he strikes fear into the heart of any man.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Sarah Schreiber interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, who says he is afraid of what Edge and Damian Priest will make him do to them after mentioning his family. Styles then sees Damian Priest and attacks him, and when Shane Helms tries to stop him, Damian Priest lands a cheap shot. Helms and other officials have to separate both men.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles vs. Damian Priest ends with Priest kneeling down in the middle of the ring as the lights go out and a purple spotlight shines on him.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles, who says that he was not done with Damian Priest and that nothing Priest and Edge does will stop him from getting to them.

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats The Miz. Before much can happen in the match, Seth "Freakin'" Rollins shows up and watches from the announce table. After the match, Seth Rollins gets in the ring and tells Cody he heard all of the kind things he said about him as well as mentioning a rematch, then mentions that Cody was a surprise opponent the first time and had every single advantage. Seth then says that he has seen what he is working with, then proposes they have a rematch. Cody says "Yes."

Backstage, Keivn Patrick interviews Tommaso Ciampa, who is now officially on the Raw roster. Suddenly, Ezekiel shows up and welcomes Ciampa, then Kevin Owens shows up and says Ezekiel is really Elias. Ezekiel tells Owens he is mistaken and leaves. Owens tells Ciampa that Ezekiel is Elias, but Ciampa is not convinced.

Naomi beats Liv Morgan following a series of pinfalls.

Bobby Lashley heads to the ring. After the commercial break, Lashley states he has invited himself into The VIP Lounge after what MVP and Omos did to him last week, as last week should have been a celebration. He gives credit where credit is due and mentions that he barely made it out alive against Omos, then states that MVP - the one man he thought he could trust - stabbed him in the back. Lashley then demands MVP get in the ring and explain why he did what he did, and when MVP does not immediately show up, Lashley threatens to destroy the set until MVP and Omos shows up. MVP tells Lashley to stop embarrass himself and threatens to send him a bill for damages if he destroys anything. Lashley demands an explanation for MVP, and MVP says Omos is waiting until the time and money are right and Lashley should be putting respect in his name. MVP then says Lashley deserves an explanation, saying Lashley was floundering and letting a social media star lead his career astray until he found him and made him "All Mighty." Lashley tells MVP that he was back in WWE for a farewell tour, but then found his next meal ticket in him as he made his way to the top. MVP says he was there every step of the way, then calls Lashley the past and the present while calling Omos the future. He says that Omos is bigger, stronger and meaner than Lashley and that he will take his place on the mountaintop, and that Omos knows he needs him. MVP says Lashley barely survived their first match, and promises he will not survive the next. Lashley tells MVP to care more about his own survival, for he will chop Omos down like he did at WrestleMania before coming to get him. Lashley then destroys the set.

R-Truth, Akira Tozawa, Reggie and a few other men are seen walking out of a players' club. R-Truth and Reggie talk about Tozawa's bachelor party, and when R-Truth mentions the 24/7 Championship, Reggie mentions Tamina and Dana Brooke are having separate bachelorette parties. R-Truth tells Reggie that he is asking for nothing but trouble and that something is eventually going to happen, then says they have a bachelorette party to crash.

Backstage, Austin Theory - who now wants to be called just "Theory," as he and Vince McMahon agree that the first name of Austin does suit him - asks Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville for his United States title match with Finn Balor and gets it. After Theory leaves, Kevin Owens shows up wanting info on Ezekiel, but is told that is confidential. Owens says he will go so far as to give Ezekiel a lie detector test, and Sonya Deville makes the lie detector test official. After Owens leaves, Sonya tells Pearce that she has the first contender for Bianca Belair's WWE Raw Women's Championship already lined up.

It is announced that Corey Graves and Carmella are married.

Bianca Belair beats Queen Zelina. After the match, Sonya Deville shows up. Sonya congratulates Bianca on her wins both tonight and at WrestleMania, then mentions that are a ton of viable contenders for the Raw Women's Championship and that the options are endless for her. Bianca says that she is willing to face anyone in the women's division with the title on the line, then says that regardless of who she faces off with, she will walk out of the ring as champion. Sonya then says she has an open contract for the WWE Raw Women's Championship, and asks Bianca to sign to prove he is the best. Bianca signs the contract, thinking she is falling for a trap, but signs it anyway. Sonya then introduces the first challenger for Bianca's title, but when she calls for the drumroll, Sonya hits her with a chop block from behind and lays her out before telling Bianca her next opponent is her. Sonya then signs the contract. Adam Pearce shows up and confronts Sonya before Sonya leaves.

At the bachelorette party, Dana Brooke thanks Tamina on agreeing on a truce. Tamina says that after the honeymoon, it is open season, then Los Lotharios (Humberto and Angel) show up to spice the party up with the kiss cam. Los Lotharios kiss Dana and Tamina, then Nikki A.S.H. shows up with some dancers. One of them is a referee, and Nikki tries to pin Dana. Tamina stops Nikki and sends her across the bar as Reggie, R-Truth and Akira Tozawa show up. R-Truth then says nobody loves the WWE 24/7 Championship more than him and that love is keeping everyone together, not the title. After producing a certificate that delcares him an ordained minister, R-Truth then orders all attacks on the 24/7 Championship to stop until after the double wedding next week.

Backstage, Adam Pearce tells Sonya Deville that she is abusing her power by naming herself as Bianca Belair's first contender, but Sonya says she is making history and she has made it official. She then says there is nothing Pearce can do to stop her.

Before the next match, Chad Gable brags about Detroit, Michigan being the first place where he mentioned his Master's degree, then says none of his genius rubbed off on the locals since he was last here. He then says that he and Otis have heard what The Usos have had to say and that they will not let a team from SmackDown take the titles, then says they are not tag team champions right now because WrestleMania was full of distractions as well as Gable Steveson trying to steal his spotlight. Gable then says that Otis is beaming with pride because they both know they will beat RK-Bro (Matt Riddle and Randy Orton) tonight.

RK-Bro (Matt Riddle and Randy Orton) beat Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis). After the match, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) are seen arriving to the arena backstage. After the commercial break, The Usos head to the ring. Orton says he was beginning to wonder if The Usos would show up on Raw, then says "The Big Dog let his bitches off the leash." Jey says The Usos are here to issue the challenge and beat Raw. Jimmy changes RK-Bro to a tag team title unification match, and after Riddle makes an Avengers reference, Orton is about to answer the challenge when The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) show up. Angelo Dawkins says that they challenged RK-Bro for the Raw tag titles until Alpha Academy made it a Triple Threat Match, then says that they are next in line. Montez Ford then accuses The Usos of cutting in line, but Jey says the only line is the bloodline. Montez Ford says he and Angelo Dawkins will be happy to face The Usos after they beat RK-Bro for the Raw tag titles so they can unify the titles themselves. The Usos and The Street Profits then argue before Orton tells both teams to shut up before saying he wants to see a fight and asking the fans if they want the same. This leads to a tag team match.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). After the match, RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Matt Riddle) meet The Usos in the ring, and both teams lift up their tag team titles before The Usos leave the ring. Angelo Dawkins then tries to attack Riddle from behind, but both men tumble out of the ring. Randy Orton then finds Montez and hits him with the RKO, but The Usos get back in the ring and hit Orton with stereo superkicks before lifting up all the tag team titles.
