Generation NXT 2.0 - NXT 2.0 recap for April 26, 2022

Nikkita Lyons beats Lash Legend. After the match, Lyons is attacked from behind by Natalya, and Lash Legend joins in. Cora Jade shows up and takes out Lash with her skateboard, then has a staredown with Natalya. She tries to her with her skateboard, but Natalya gets her in the Sharpshooter. Lyons boots Natalya away before she can lock in the hold, which forces Natalya to retreat.

Backstage, we hear from Tony D'Angelo, who says that he was supposed to face Xyon Quinn, but he is not here, and he has to face Von Wagner instead. He then says that Santos Escobar will soon be "sleeping with the fishes."

Roderick Strong meets with the rest of Diamond Mine. He says that they have been struggling and that he will not tolerate it, as their group is too good to crumble like his last group did. After Brutus Creed says that they went through three groups in the tag team gauntlet match only to be robbed by Pretty Deadly (Kit Wilson and Elton Prince), Strong says that he has set up a match between The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) and The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) next week. Ivar and Erik show up and tell The Creed Brothers that they will see them next week.

Von Wagner beats Tony D'Angelo after Santo Escobar whacks D'Angelo in the back of the knee with a nightstick as two Mafia members in suits pull Joaquin Wilde and Cruz del Toro off the ring apron.

Backstage, Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta compliment Roxanne Perez on winning last week when Toxic Attraction (Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin, Jacy Jayne) shows up and tell her that her victory was a fluke, but Roxanne says she can prove her victory isn't a fluke. Mandy Rose says that she knows Roxanne wants to take on "the measuring stick" and tells Roxanne she will teach her the difference between a champion and someone who dreams of becoming one.

Nathan Frazer debuts next!

Backstage, Brooks Jensen, Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley talk about their match with Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Elektra Lopez). Henley says it is time to take care of business. Suddenly, the mysterious woman that has been seen near Robert Stone walks by, distracting Brooks Jensen.

Andre Chase and Bodhi Hayward are seen in the Chase University section before Grayson Waller attacks Nathan Frazer's opponent, Guru Raaj. He says that nobody cares about Frazer's debut and that things will get embarrassing if he takes one more step, because this is his show. Grayson says he does what he wants, when he wants, then sees Chase and Hayward and tells them that their university is a scam and that their sorority is "built like refrigerators." As Hayward and Chase confront Grayson Waller, Nathan Frazer attacks Grayson with a missile drop kick out of nowhere and overpowers him, then Andre Chase says that this is a teachable moment.

We see a vignette for Arianna Grace, who will be competing in the 2022 NXT Women's Breakout Tournament. She is a model who has also trained in boxing and MMA, and she is not afraid to throw caution to the win. (Arianna Grace is former NWA wrestler Bianca Carelli, whose father, Anthony Carelli, performed in WWE as Santino Marella.)

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tiffany Stratton, who says that Sarray is a cheater. Suddenly, Grayson Waller shows up asking who Nathan Frazer, and Tiffany Stratton makes fun of Nathan Frazer, saying he has an accent and looks homeless. Grayson agrees with her, and says Frazer might as well debut against him before the two of them walk off.

Kayden Carter and Kacy Catanzaro (the latter now known as Katana Chance) beat Yulisa Leon and Valentina Feroz.

It is revealed that Brooks Jensen has been attacked backstage. Josh Briggs is angry, and says that Legado del Fantasma has left him and Fallon Henley no choice.

We hear from Kay Lee Ray, who says that it has been eight months since the journey began. She says that she is a fighter, warrior and champion, then says she has to ressurrect her past. She says that fire is a rebirth for her, then reveals her new name: Alba Fyre.

Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Elektra Lopez) beat Josh Briggs and Fallon Henley in a 3-on-2 handicap match. Robert Stone guests on commentary in the middle of the match.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Natalya and Lash Legend. Natalya says Cora Jade did not get the message because she is young and immature, and next week, she will break Cora Jade's legs and put the locker room on notice. After Natalya says she has noticed Lash Legend, Lash says she is teaming with a legend and that it is not over between her and Nikkita Lyons. She says that after she wins, she will take her momentum into the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament.

Cameron Grimes guests on commentary for the next match.

We hear from Kianna James, who says that she is bringing sophisication to the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament and that she is relentless in both the wrestling and corporate worlds.

Solo Sikoa beats Trick Williams. After the match, Cameron Grimes and Solo Sikoa confront each other, then Carmelo Anthony shoves Sikoa out of the way. Sikoa tries to superkick Carmelo, but ends up hitting Grimes instead.

Backstage, Malik Blade and Edris Enofe talk about their match with The Viking Raiders. Blade is nervous about the match, but Edris says that they have this and convinces him that he is a man with speed, power, heart and no fear.

Backstage, Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz del Toro, Elektra Lopez) brag about their win, then Santos Escobar says that he proved that Tony D'Angelo is a low-life and a liar when he gave him a taste of his own medicine, as nobody threatens him. He then says that he got D'Angelo's message last week and that D'Angelo has finally gotten his.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat Malik Blade and Edris Enofe. Both teams shake hands after the match. Afterwards, The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) stare down The Viking Raiders from across the ramp.

We hear from Wes Lee, who talks about his six-month journey back to being a tag team champion and the anger from losing the titles, then says going alone means new challenges and new risks. He says he can either bitch and complain or knuckle up and make waves. (Throughout the promo, Nash Carter - who was fired following allegations of abusing his soon-to-be-ex-wife, fellow professional wrestler Kimber Lee as well as a selfie of Nash Carter performing a "sieg heil" hand signal with a Hitler-esque mustache - is not shown or even mentioned by name.)

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Tony D'Angelo, who tells Santos Escobar that he is the one who makes the threat before introducing Troy "Two Dimes" Donovan and Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo (formerly Channing Laurent) - as his two "goombahs." He tells Santos Escobar that messing with him is dangerous to health and that he wants to talk things out with Escobar man-to-man before he takes things into his own hands, which he says is dangerous and something that Escobar won't like.

Mandy Rose beats Roxanne Perez. After the match, Wendy Choo sneaks up on Mandy Rose, and while she cannot shoot them with Super Soakers, she is able to hit a button and trap them in a net on the stage before she and Roxanne spray them with silly string.

We hear from Sloane Jacobs, who says that she learned how to fight growing up with her two sisters and that she dreams big. She plans to become the youngest women's champion in NXT history at 19 and plans to win the NXT Women's Breakout Tournament.

Backstage, we see Joe Gacy surrounded by people cloaked in black robes as he says "Let's go change the world."

Joe Gacy heads to the ring. Gacy says the journey to change and embrace the world has come far as his black-cloaked figures approach the ring. He says that NXT is clay of acceptance of everyone that he has molded for the last six months, but the mission is not done. He says that not everyone buys into his way of life and asks why, before saying it is time to break away from the masses of people who want to live in the past and commit to the future and his vision willingly, because after next week, there will be no choice. Gacy says that Bron Breakker has not mentioned his injury because he knows that Breakker is not cleared to defend the NXT Championship because of what he did and because of Breakker's "fall from grace." Gacy says he will become the next NXT Champion, and the clay that he molded will be hardened into the vision of how he sees the world. Suddenly, Rick Steiner shows up. Rick tells Gacy that he has it all wrong and that Bron Breakker is cleared to defend the NXT Championship next week, then Gacy tells Rick that he picked either a great time or the worst possible time to come back before the black-cloaked figures surround the ring. They all step off the apron when Bron Breakker shows up, and Breakker levels a few of the black-cloaked figures on the way to the ring before levelling even more. As this happens, some of the black-cloaked figures hold Rick Steiner back in the corner. Gacy, however, is able to take out Breakker with a clothesline. The black-cloaked figures then pass the NXT Championship over to Joe Gacy, who lifts it over a downed Bron Breakker to end the show.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
