Memphis Thing - Memphis Wrestling recap for April 23, 2022

At the start of the show, Dustin Starr announces that Skyler will no longer be able to compete in Memphis Wrestling due to "Dirty" Diana Taylor's actions and that the Memphis Women's Championship has been vacated. (In reality, Skyler has been fired from the company for unprofessionalism.)

Mike Anthony shows up and demands interview time. Anthony says borrowed time is what the champion is on, and threatens to put Dustin Starr's face out the back of his head if he keeps eyeballing him. He then says he is hungry and starving for competition, and demands a match right now.

Mike Anthony beats Brandon Espinosa. After the match, Anthony says he has something to say about the "bromance" and upcoming title match between "Big Swole" Justin Cole and "The GunShow" Brett Michaels.

Backstage, "Big Swole" Justin Cole tells "The GunShow" Justin Cole what Mike Anthony has just said, and both men agree that if Mike Anthony gets involved, they will both take him out.

Backstage, "Smokin' Hot" Nikki Lane texts "Dirty" Diana Taylor, telling her to meet her next week. She then looks at the camera and says she tried to do this personally, then proposes they meet face-to-face in the ring next week.

The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts and Rashad Lee) beat The Etiquette (Jay Smooth and Martin). After the match, Dustin Starr interviews The Yung GOATs (Aaron Roberts, Zay Washington, Rashad Lee, Brandon). Brandon says that The Posse has the Memphis Tag Team titles hostage and asks Dustin Starr to help make their match with The Posse for the tag team titles a reality. He then tells The Posse to watch their back, as messing with The Yung GOATs means they are messing with the best.

We hear from Jerry Jarrett and King Cobra, both of whom state that Memphis Wrestling is keeping the local wrestling tradition alive.

Dustin Starr interviews Evil Uno at the announce desk. Evil Uno says he has a lot of claws up, then introduces himself. He says that there are so many people here and he looks around and dissects people to see what makes them tick and where their future will go. He says he has been looking for a new member of The Dark Order, but so far, he does not see an ounce of talent here and has not found someone yet who sparks his interest. Evil Uno says Memphis has not created a star since Jerry Lawler, then says he has scouted one man here for years and states that with a bit of a push and a shove, The Dark Order can get him to the top of professional wrestling. Suddenly, Kid Wrestling shows up, and Evil Uno says he is not one man. Kid Wrestling says he has only thing in common with The Dark Order. Evil Uno thinks it is the mask, but Kid Wrestling says he is the most technically dangerous wrestler to get in the ring. Evil Uno asks the fans if Kid Wrestling should join The Dark Order, then tells Kid Wrestling that a mask does not make him fit to join and that he does not have the skill to join. He says that if he is the best Memphis has to offer, he is out of here. He then leaves.

K-Toomer beats Kid Wrestling by technical knockout. After the match, Dustin Starr interviews K-Toomer, who asks him to replace "yes" with "'Sho nuff!" K-Toomer says he is the meanest, hungriest and baddest, then says to help the bear if he is fighting a bear before saying "Forget the bear...I want a Rhino."

Dustin Starr interviews "The Best of the Best" Austin Lane at the announce desk. Austin Lane says it is great to be back, then gives "The GunShow" Brett Michaels credit where credit is due for his win in their championship match, then says that while he came up short, he has healed up, and that it is time to bring back the Best of the Best Challenge.

Dustin Starr interviews Trace Lee Hunt, who says it is an honor to be here before saying he is known as "The True American" because he is "230 pounds of American muscle" and "bald like an eagle," then answers Austin Lane's Best of the Best Challenge.

"The Best of the Best" Austin Lane beats "The True American" Trace Lee Hunt in a Best of the Best Challenge with a triangle choke.
