Raw Deal - Raw recap for March 15, 2021

It is officially announced that Drew McIntyre will challenge Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

MVP and Bobby Lashley head to the ring to start tonight's show. MVP says that last week, the statement was made that "the Almighty Era has begun" after sixteen years of dedication and decimation when Lashley took the WWE Championship. Lashley says he has proved all the haters, naysayers and doubters wrong when he did what he set out to do, and after destroying Drew McIntyre at Elimination Chamber, he will do it again at WrestleMania before destroying everyone on Raw. The Miz and John Morrison show up, and Miz says that while he should be preparing for Drew McIntyre, he had to show up and say Lashley's speech was truly remarkable before congratulating him, saying he and Morrison are all for the Almighty Era. Miz says he was proud to share the ring with Lashley in the last two weeks, then says he feels their rivalry has just begun and that he wants to face Lashley at WrestleMania. Miz then says he does not want to diminish Lashley's accomplishments, then says he had to defend the WWE Championship in two weeks and was suffering from cramps, and says he was not at 100%. As he asks Lashley if he wants to face him at full strength, Drew McIntyre shows up. McIntyre formally congratulates Lashley on winning the WWE Championship after taking a similar journey to his, but says that when they got to the finish line, he beat 30 men to beat Brock Lesnar in five minutes while Lashley made a deal and screwed him over. MVP tells McIntyre he should be worried about Sheamus before he is worried about Lashley, and as McIntyre says that Lashley can speak for himself, Lashley and Miz tell McIntyre he should be worried about them. McIntyre tells Miz he owes him one, then gives him two options: attack him from behind or run away. He says that if Miz fights him tonight, he will make an example out of him before putting down Sheamus at Fastlane and winning the WWE Championship at WrestleMania. McIntyre calls Lashley "a big bald bitch" as he says that their match will be "a heavyweight clash for the ages." Lashley takes exception to this as MVP holds him back, and as McIntyre focuses on Miz, Lashley attacks McIntyre from behind. As MVP and Lashley leave, The Miz pounds on McIntyre in the ring. As this goes on, Sheamus attacks Lashley on the stage behind MVP's back, and referees have to force Sheamus to the back while MVP holds Lashley back again.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Sheamus, who says he wants Drew McIntyre at 100% so there are no excuses when he beats him and that Lashley is sticking his nose in his business. He then demands a match with Bobby Lashley so he can show the world who he really is and be the one who can beat Bobby Lashley.

Drew McIntyre beats The Miz with Bobby Lashley's Hurt Lock following the Future Shock DDT and the Claymore Kick to send a message to Bobby Lashley.

Braun Strowman is in the ring. He calls out Shane McMahon, who shows up. Braun says he has been bullied and called stupid all of his life by people like Shane, who says that he would never make fun of another man. Braun says that they both know McMahons do not apologize for anything, and that Shane was scared last week. Braun says that Shane is afraid of what he will do to him and is afraid to ask for a match with him, and Braun says that he wants a match with Shane tonight. Shane tells Braun he wants none of him, and that he now knows that Braun is stupid. Shane continues to call Braun stupid and compares him to the Tyrannosaurus Rex by saying the Tyrannosaurus Rex died because it didn't get smarter, then accepts Braun's challenge to a match tonight.

Backstage, Mandy Rose, Dana Brooke, Lana and Naomi are met by R-Truth, who is celebrating Austin 3:16 day a day early.

Nia Jax and "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler guest on commentary for the next match.

Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke beat Lana and Naomi. During the match, Asuka shows up, and when "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler goes after her, Asuka gets the upper hand before officials seperate both women.

Backstage, The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) are met by Matt Riddle, who talks about busting out a trick on his scooter before wishing The New Day luck against The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander) tonight. Kofi Kingston says that tonight is about The New Day taking back their place on the mountaintop, and Xavier Woods hopes that Matt Riddle can retain the United States title against Mustafa Ali. Riddle then proposes they all get matching scooters and riding off into the sunset after tonight.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) beat The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander) to become the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions! This is their fourth reign with the titles and 11th overall. After the match, AJ Styles and Omos show up. Styles congratulates The New Day on their tag team title victory, then says he and Omos do not have anything going on right now, and Omos says they should be Raw Tag Team Champions. Styles says it is Omos' time to shine and that jaws will drop when people see what Omos is capable of, then challenges The New Day for the Raw tag team titles at WrestleMania. Kofi asks Omos and Styles if they are registered as and able to work as a tag team, then Woods tells them they have their match.

Backstage, The Miz and John Morrison run into Damian Priest and Bad Bunny. Priest says Miz has looked awful since he has lost the WWE Championship, but Miz says Bad Bunny wishes he had a fraction of his success. Miz also asks what Priest has done, and Priest admits it will take a while to reach Miz's level of accomplishment before saying he can start right now with them. Suddenly, R-Truth gifts Bad Bunny with Austin 3:16 merchandise. R-Truth then says he wants the WWE 24/7 Championship back. Bad Bunny says he respects R-Truth and the business and that R-Truth deserves it more than him before giving R-Truth the WWE 24/7 Championsip back. Damian Priest leaves R-Truth alone when R-Truth gets Bad Bunny's name right. Unfortunately for R-Truth, the other Superstars don't, and they chase after him once he gets the title back.

Damian Priest quickly beats Jaxson Ryker. After the match, Elias attacks Priest, and when he is about to hit Priest with his guitar, Bad Bunny takes it away from him. Elias grabs Bad Bunny, but Bad Bunny escapes his grasp and hits him with a right hand before Priest hits Elias with a Bell Clap followed by Hit The Lights. Afterwards, John Morrison shows up, but it is all a distraction that allows The Miz to hit Bad Bunny in the back with Elias' guitar.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews MVP and Bobby Lashley. MVP says the Almighty Era has begun, and that he will be damned if Sheamus thinks he can blindside Lashley and embarrass him. He says that Sheamus will not be 100% at Fastlane after Lashley does to Sheamus tonight what he will do Drew McIntyre at WrestleMania.

Shane McMahon vs. Braun Strowman ends before the bell can even ring when Braun Strowman goes after Shane McMahon for insulting his intelligence only for Shane McMahon to hit him with a television camera, nail him with a top rope elbow drop to the announce table and pour two buckets of green paint on him.

We see another vignette for Rhea Ripley's arrival to Raw.

It's time for Alexa's Playground. Alexa Bliss tells Randy Orton that if he wants her out of his life so badly, he will have to take her out of it, and that Fastlane is his chance. She then asks Orton if she will take that chance.

Asuka beats "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler after countering the Kirifuda Clutch by pinning Baszler's shoulders to the mat. After the match, Baszler gets the Kirifuda Clutch in, then goes to kick another tooth out of Asuka's mouth when Asuka catches her foot and proceeds to decimate her. Asuka removes a turnbuckle pad and the mouthguard from Baszler's mouth in an attempt to curb stomp Baszler's mouth into the steel turnbuckle hook, but the referee stops her from doing this.

Backstage, Mustafa Ali tells Retribution that he will right their wrongs following failure after failure when Matt Riddle speeds between them on his scooter.

Matt Riddle retains the WWE United States Championship against Mustafa Ali after Slapjack distracts the referee only for Riddle to counter a roll-up from Ali and hit the Bro Derek for the win.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews Randy Orton, who says that if Alexa Bliss wants him to kick her out of his life, then that is exactly what he is going to do.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Omos vs. The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships is official for WrestleMania.

Drew McIntyre heads to the ring. He says he has been paying attention to the show and says that MVP has made some guarantees during the show, which can be a big mistake when those guarantees do not happen. He says that he and Lashley will bring a level of physicality like never before, and that he will "beat the hell out of" Sheamus before he takes back the WWE Championship. McIntyre then announces that he will watch the next match from ringside.

Bobby Lashley beats Sheamus. After the match, Lashley puts Sheamus in the Hurt Lock as McIntyre steps into the ring. When Sheamus bumps into MVP, this distracts MVP and Lashley, and McIntyre hits Lashley with the Claymore Kick.
