Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for March 26, 2021

Daniel Bryan heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Daniel says that everyone has seen the truth and the reality that Roman Reigns said would never happen and has never happened before: him making Roman tap out. He says that Roman has never tapped out in his entire career, and that he has said he would rather die than tap out to someone like him, then says that Roman Reigns is alive and has tapped out to him. Daniel goes on to say that in a perfect world, that means he would be standing in the ring right now as WWE Universal Champion, knowing that he was headed to the main event of WrestleMania. Unfortunately for him, neither of things are true, because as he made Roman tapped out, Edge hit him across the back with a chair just like the one he is holding. He takes notice of Edge telling him he is not going about things the right away and should be letting the fans have their dream match between him and Roman, but he has had enough of doing things the right way. He says that Edge was just given his dream match while he himself earned it, then says that he is willing to earn it all again. Daniel then demands a rematch against Roman for the Universal Championship tonight, and refuses to leave the ring until he gets it. Daniel Bryan then sits in the chair in the middle of the ring and waits. After the commercial break, Daniel Bryan is still sitting in the middle of the ring. Adam Pearce shows up and says he cannon give Daniel a Universal Championship rematch, and that the referee's decision is final and that Roman will defend the Universal title at WrestleMania against Edge. Daniel Bryan wants a match against the winner of that match, and Pearce says that is unfair. Daniel calls this hypocritical due to what he had to go through at Elimination Chamber, then proposes Night One can be Edge vs. Roman, with the winner facing him at Night Two. An angry Edge shows up, gets in the ring and tells Daniel that for the last month, he has sat back and watched Daniel act altruistic, then says this could also be his last shot and that he has worked to get being in a situation like this back. He says that Daniel "[doesn't] deserve this match at WrestleMania," and gets punched by Daniel. Edge hits him with a Spear, then grabs the chair and hits Daniel in the back with it as he is down.

Backstage, Roman Reigns, Jey Uso and Paul Heyman have seen what has happened. Roman tells Heyman to get Adam Pearce, and asks Jey to follow Heyman and use force if he has to. Jey says "You sure?" Roman says "What are they gonna do? Fire us?"

Seth Rollins beats Shinsuke Nakamura. After the match, Rollins continues to attack Nakamura, but as he goes for another Stomp, Cesaro runs in and overpowers him. Rollins is forced to retreat as soon as he is able to wriggle out of the Cesaro Swing.

Backstage, Paul Heyman and Roman Reigns are met by Adam Pearce. Heyman mentions Roman's displeasure of Daniel Bryan's match proposal from earlier, and Roman says "We don't thank you. You thank us." He also tells Pearce that he only gets him for one night and one title defense, and Pearce says that while he is almost entitled to agree with him, he says there are other things to consider and will have a decision by the end of the night.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Seth Rollins, who is infuriated by being swung by Cesaro and disrespected and embarrassed him. He also says that he warned him that bad things would happen if he got in his business. Rollins then challenges Cesaro to a match at WrestleMania to teach him a lesson, and says he will never be disrespected, embarrassed or swung by Cesaro again. He is then attacked from behind and swung by Cesaro. Cesaro then tells Rollins that his challenge is accepted.

Chad Gable, Otis and Apollo Crews beat Big E and The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) in a six-man tag match.

Backstage, Adam Pearce is met by Edge. Pearce says his job is to get all the facts and consider all the options, and that is what he will do at the end of the night. Edge says he hopes Pearce makes the right decision or else.

It's time for The Kevin Owens Show. Tonight's guest is Sami Zayn. Owens says he has tried to make it clear to Sami that while he does not believe his conspiracy theories, he is still on his side, but all he got for it was Sami nearly kicking his head off of his shoulders at the announce table. He then says that he has a question, and that the only person who can answer it is Sami Zayn, whom he calls out. Sami shows up. Sami says he is unequivocally sorry for what he did last week, and says that everything has been affecting his mental state as of late. He also says that Owens can still be part of his documentary. Sami then announces that next week, he will be having a red carpet premiere for the release of the trailer of his documentary that will expose the conspiracy that WWE has against him. He also mentions that he has been trying to get Logan Paul in on this, and announces that Logan Paul is into the documentary and will not only help him get the word out, but will also be there next week as the guest of honor. Owens says he does not care about his documentary, Logan Paul, or whether Sami is sorry, and Sami says Owens owes him an apology for pretending to be on his side. Owens cuts him off and says he has only allowed him to be in the ring without getting beaten up to get the answer to his question: "You, me, WrestleMania. Yes? Or no?" Sami tries to beg Owens off, but Owens has absolutely none of it as he has Sami backed into the corner. Sami says yes, then asks him if he is happy now. Owens says he is, then beats Sami senseless. Owens beats Sami in and out of the ring before hitting him with a Stunner in the middle of the ring.

Backstage, Adam Pearce is met by Daniel Bryan, who says that he has been General Manager of SmackDown and knows what he is going through. Daniel reminds him that he knows deep down what the right decision is, and tells him that all he has to do is make it.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Bianca Belair, who says that she could have hit Sasha Banks back last week, but she would have not made it to WrestleMania. She also wanted to be the bigger person that night so she could be the better person at WrestleMania. She says that Sasha is not a liar and that while she is good, she is just that little bit better, and says that "this rookie" has what it takes to beat Sasha at WrestleMania. She also says to hide the kids, as they should not see what she will do to Natalya tonight.

Bianca Belair beats Natalya. During the match, Sasha Banks appears as Bianca Belair goes up top, distracting Bianca. This allows Tamina to get involved in the match before the commercial break. Sasha Banks then guests on commentary for this match after the commercial break. Later on in the match, Bianca slaps Sasha at ringside when she tells her to get up, then hits Natalya with the K.O.D. for the win. After the match, Sasha hits Bianca with the Backstabber in the ring.

Backstage, Edge enters Roman Reigns' dressing room. Jey Uso confronts Edge, and Roman tells Edge "It takes a lot of balls to come in here like this." He says he almost respects that, but if Edge does not get to the point, he will let the dog off his leash. Edge tells Roman that Daniel Bryan is trying to steal their spotlight, and tells him that if he has the stroke he says he has, then now is the time to use it. Edge then says that Daniel Bryan needs to be taken out of the picture somehow.

WrestleMania 37 is 15 days away!

Rey Mysterio beats Dolph Ziggler despite the involvement of Robert Roode.

It is announced that Kane and The Great Khali have been inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame Class of 2021.

Adam Pearce heads to the ring, and is quickly followed by Roman Reigns, Paul Heyman and Jey Uso. Edge enters the ring after the commercial break, followed by Daniel Bryan. Pearce says that everything that Daniel, Roman and Edge have said has made sense, and announces that at WrestleMania, Daniel Bryan, Edge and Roman Reigns will face each other in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE Universal Championship. Daniel and Edge then brawl. Edge eats a running drop kick in the corner, then Roman his Daniel with a Superman Punch before going for the ground and pound. Jey Uso grabs a chair and hands it to Roman, but Edge hits Roman with the Spear and does the same to Jey when he gets in the ring with a chair of his own. Edge then hits Roman and Daniel with a chair before putting a chair below both men's heads. He then grabs another chair, takes it into the ring and goes for the Con-Chair-To on both men. Jey gets back in the ring, but gets hit with the chair as Roman escapes. Daniel tries to crawl away, but Edge gets him back in the ring. Officials get in the ring to prevent a Con-Chair-To to Daniel, but get blasted with the chair. Daniel escapes, and Edge sits in a chair in the middle of the ring to end the show.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
