Raw Deal - Raw recap for March 22, 2021

Bobby Lashley beats Sheamus with the Hurt Lock. During the match, Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin show up to watch from ringside, and Cedric's involvement almost costs Lashley the match mid-way through. It ends up paying dividends in the end, however, when Lashley hits Sheamus with a spinebuster before getting the win with the Hurt Lock. After the match, Cedric and Shelton attack Sheamus, then Drew McIntyre shows up and beats Cedric and Sheamus up before having a staredown with Lashley, who is held back by MVP, who tells Lashley to wait until WrestleMania as McIntyre dares Lashley to hit him.

Backstage, Bobby Lashley chews out Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin, saying he did not need their help, and MVP tells them that they tarnished Lashley's image and made it look like he could not beat Sheamus on his own. He also calls their tag team title loss an embarrassment, and says that by embarrassing themselves, they embarrass Lashley. MVP then tells them to think about what to do to redeem themselves.

Asuka beats Peyton Royce with the Asuka Lock. After the match, Rhea Ripley shows up and says Asuka is one of the greatest Women's Champions in WWE history and has proved her point, then mentions that Charlotte Flair is not here and recovering from COVID-19. She then tells Asuka that she needs an answer, and challenges her to a championship match at WrestleMania. Asuka tells Ripley she is not ready for her, then accepts her challenge.

Backstage, Adam Pearce meets with Drew McIntyre, who says that he could not stand idly by while Sheamus was attacked earlier. Pearce then says that Cedric Alexander and Shelton Benjamin want a 2-on-1 handicap match with McIntyre tonight. McIntyre raises the stakes, and proposes that if Cedric and Shelton lose against him, they will be banned from ringside at WrestleMania, as Bobby Lashley will do anything to win the WWE title and will do anything to defend the WWE title.

Wrestlemania 37 is 19 days away!

Rhea Ripley vs. Asuka for the WWE Raw Women's Championship is official for WrestleMania.

It's time for a WrestleMania edition of Miz TV. The Miz says he has had a grueling and strenuous last few weeks, and that the last thing he needed was to be made fun of by Damian Priest and Bad Bunny. Miz asks Bad Bunny who he thinks he is, saying it is one thing to do special performance but another thing to hang on, hang out with Damian Priest and show zero respect towards him, and reminds Bad Bunny that he is a two-time Grand Slam Champion. Miz says he has been the backbone of WWE for over 15 years while John Morrison is a multiple-time Intercontinental and tag team champion, yet he and Morrison still do not get the respect they deserve, as Bad Bunny is on the WrestleMania poster and they are not. Miz says that last week was his final straw, and says that if Bad Bunny wanted his attention, he got it and a whole lot more. After a replay of Miz hitting Bad Bunny in the back with Elias' guitar, Miz says this is not just a lesson to Bad Bunny, but any musician or actor who think they can waltz on into WWE, do what he and Morrison do, and walk all over them. Miz then announces that next week on a special edition of The Dirt Sheet, there will be a new song dedicated to Bad Bunny on Raw called "Hey Hey Hop Hop," which is briefly previewed prior to its world premiere next week. Miz says that next week will be the last time Bad Bunny's name is heard before his career crashes like Vanilla Ice's, as Bad Bunny will find out this is The Miz's domain and that WrestleMania will be a living nightmare, as he is challenging him to a match on that night. He then says that he will end Bad Bunny's entire career, and that his match up next against Jeff Hardy will be a preview of what will happen to him.

Before the next match, Jeff Hardy tells The Miz that he knows he cannot beat him by himself and that John Morrison is always there to bail him out, and says that if The Miz were a real man, Morrison would head to the back right now. Morrison heads to the back.

The Miz beats Jeff Hardy. After the match, The Miz has a guitar smashed into his back from behind by Bad Bunny. Bad Bunny then tells Miz "I accept your challenge, bitch!"

Backstage, Matt Riddle calls "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles "Skipper" as he rides past on his scooter, then Styles tells Omos he feels inspired to make The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) look bad tonight.

The Miz vs. Bad Bunny is official for WrestleMania.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles and Omos head to the ring. Styles says that he and Omos will beat The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships, saying they cannot lose with his wisdom and experience and with Omos' strength and colossal size. Suddenly, The New Day shows up. Kofi Kingston says that AJ Styles and Omos are no team and are just a small man trying to overcompensate for his lack of size and hides behind a giant whom he commands to do his evil bidding. Woods tells Omos that Styles will bring him down and reminds him that he does not even need to be pinned to lose the match, and Kofi and Woods ask Styles a few questions about Omos to see if he knows him. Styles gets none of them right. Woods asks Omos how he can even trust Styles if Styles doesn't even know his favorite color, and Styles dares The New Day to get in the ring so he can give them a taste of what will happen at WrestleMania.

Kofi Kingston beats "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles by countering the Phenomenal Forearm with the S.O.S. as Omos slowly chases Xavier Woods around the ring.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Sheamus, who says that he does not run from a fight and lives for the fight when asked why he faced Bobby Lashley tonight, and says that Drew McIntyre helped him out of respect even though he cannot stand him. Suddenly, Matt Riddle shows up and asks Sheamus if the Loch Ness Monster exists and if leprechauns are real. Sheamus asks Riddle if the scooter is easy to ride, then hits Riddle in the gut with his own scooter.

Drew McIntyre beats The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander) in a 2-on-1 handicap match. As per pre-match stipulation, Shelton and Cedric are barred from ringside when Drew McIntyre takes on Bobby Lashley for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania.

Backstage, MVP chews out Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander for losing to Drew McIntyre, then Bobby Lashley shows up and says that if they can't get the job done, he will find someone who does. Lashley and MVP head to the locker room, and Lashley offers a shot at the WWE Championship to anybody who can take McIntyre out before WrestleMania.

Lana and Naomi guest on commentary for the next match.

Nia Jax and "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler beat Mandy Rose and Dana Brooke following the distraction by both Shayna and Reginald.

We hear from Alexa Bliss, who tells Randy Orton that she is still in Orton's life, and so is The Fiend. She then tells Orton to be careful what he wishes for tonight.

Shane McMahon, Elias and Jaxson Ryker are in the ring. Shane chews Elias out for not getting the job done with Braun Strowman last night, then says Elias has had time to prepare for their rematch tonight. Shane and Elias then perform a song called "Braun Is Stupid." Strowman shows up and says nothing will stop the beating that is coming for him, then has a little song for Elias called "The Man Who Got These Hands."

We look back on The Rock vs. Hollywood Hogan from WrestleMania X8, courtesy of Snickers.

Braun Strowman beats Elias. After the match, Shane McMahon hits Strowman in the back with a crutch, but it has no effect and Shane McMahon runs to the stage, revealing he is not hurt. Strowman notes this as he says he has had enough of Shane, and says that he will end this before asking Shane if he is man enough to face him-on-one, as he wants him one-on-one at WrestleMania. Shane accepts, saying he will beat him in any match Strowman wants because Strowman is stupid.

Randy Orton heads to the ring with a black bag. Orton says it seems like only yesterday that he watched The Fiend burn alive, but it seems he did not finish the job, for at Fastlane, he could smell burnt flesh and he could see an abomination. He says that tonight, he will finish the job, and and after tonight, there will be no Alexa Bliss and no Fiend and "the bullshit will come to an end." Suddenly, Alexa Bliss shows up. Alexa Bliss carries a red-and-black striped box with a pentagram and "Let Me In" on it and tells Orton to be careful what he wishes for. We then learn this box is a jack-in-the-box, and after Alexa turns the crank, the lights go out. Flames shoot out of the corners of the ring, and The Fiend is now in the ring with Randy Orton. Orton pulls a can of gasoline out of the black bag and throws gas at The Fiend, who remains completely unmoved. Orton then produces a box of matches, but when The Fiend approaches him, he hits him with an RKO. Alexa then gets in the ring, and as Orton is focused on her, The Fiend gets back up. Orton notices this and runs at The Fiend, but The Fiend applies the Mandible Claw and hits Orton with Sister Abigail. Alexa then points at the WrestleMania sign. Randy Orton vs. The Fiend is official for WrestleMania.
