Raw Deal - Raw recap for December 14, 2020

It's time for The Dirt Sheet. The Miz reads a story called "The Nightmare Before TLC," written by "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles. Styles plays himself, while John Morrision plays Drew McIntyre. After the story's end, The Miz then says that he will cash in on McIntyre if McIntyre wins and become WWE Champion, something that Styles takes exception to. As Morrison, Miz and Styles argue, Sheamus shows up. Sheamus says that as entertaining as the story and the pantomime is, he and Styles have a match tonight and he is prepared to fight with his fists. Styles tells Sheamus if he is not part of the solution, he is part of the problem. Sheaums says he is ready to be part of the problem, and backs Styles into a corner. Styles throws a Christmas tree at him, but Sheamus responds by throwing a present at him.

"The Phenomenal" AJ Styles beats Sheamus after avoiding a middle rope White Noise, hitting Sheamus in the back of the left leg and pinning him with a schoolkid pin. After the match, Styles points at Sheamus as he runs his mouth towards him, but but Omos grabs Sheamus and Styles ties Sheamus up on the ropes by his legs before attacking him with a steel chair.

In backstage footage from earlier today, The Hurt Business (MVP, Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) harass a crew member for trying out one of Matt Riddle's "Bronutts," and Lashley pours a whole carton of milk on his head. When Sarah Schreiber interviews The Hurt Business, MVP says that Riddle is no athlete and that The New Day will be sent back to the circus with their tails tucked behind between their legs. Shelton says the three of them belong in the circus together, and Lashley says that if they don't, they will be introduced to their own personal world of hurt.

Backstage, Matt Riddle meets with Jeff Hardy and The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) and propose that Hardy and The New Day team up with him as "Bro E" in their corner. Hardy and The New Day love the idea.

The Hurt Business (Bobby Lashley, Shelton Benjamin, Cedric Alexander) beat Jeff Hardy and The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods) with a Hurt Lock to Jeff Hardy.

Backstage, Lana talks with Asuka about their match at TLC and how they feel "together" as a team, then mentions she has to face Nia Jax on her own and that she is scared to death. Asuka admits Nia Jax can be scary, but says Lana will still walk out to the ring, making her the bravest person she knows and proud to be her partner. She then tells Nia Jax to get out there to the ring.

Lana beats Nia Jax after escaping an avalanche Samoan Drop, kicking Nia Jax in the back of the leg and rolling Nia up in the corner to get the upset win. After the match, "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler attacks Asuka from behind backstage, and Nia Jax attacks Lana. Baszler joins Nia, who hits Lana with a leg drop. Baszler then stomps Lana's elbow before she and Nia gang up on her and decimate her left ankle. Asuka gets in the ring and cleans house, forcing Nia and Shayna to retreat before checking on Lana.

Elias is in the ring. He introduces Jaxson Ryker, who is standing to his immediate right and has not been seen on WWE programming in some time. Elias talks about how he was shocked in his recent Symphony of Destruction match, then says that shock would have ended an ordinary man. He then says he is not an ordinary man, he is "the extraordinary Elias." Elias says he was baptized by lightning and that he was given visions of Jaxson Ryker, who now walks with him. Ryker says Elias' music has changed him and taught him the universal truth, and says he will stop the interruptions and disrespect towards Elias. Elias then dedicates his next number to Lana, then R-Truth shows up and apologizes to Elias for interrupting him last week on Main Event. When Elias tells him he is interrupting, R-Truth stays silent and Elias plays his song after telling Elias he doesn't mean to interrupt. This does not last long when the locker room comes for R-Truth and the WWE 24/7 Championship. As everyone fights with each other, Jaxson Ryker takes out Gran Metalik.

Backstage, The Miz talks with John Morrison, still taking exception to AJ Styles' comments about him. As Morrision tells Miz that cashing in on Styles would be easier, Keith Lee shows up. Keith Lee shows up and flips a coin. John Morrison calls heads and gets heads on the coin toss, then tells Miz and Morrison that the coin toss they just had is all they are going to win tonight.

The Miz and John Morrison beat Keith Lee in a two-on-one handicap match.

It's time for Firefly Fun House. This time, Bray Wyatt has a field trip in the WWE Thunderdome. Ramblin' Rabbit, Huskus the Pig Boy and Mercy the Buzzard are seen in the front row. Bray says he has an apology to make, and apologizes to Randy Orton, saying that while they had the time of their lives last week, it was all "one giant misunderstanding." Bray says that sometimes, "he" has "a very sad, sick and deranged, twist mind of his own," then says he has things to fix about himself and wishes they had a chance to finish what they started. He says that after Orton faces The Fiend at TLC, he is not sure what will be left of Orton, and instead of fun and games, there will just be sadness and pain, but that sounds splendid to him, and he has decided to celebrate tonight. Bray then says that in preparation for his field trip, he has some "hiss-terical" Randy Orton jokes. Bray pulls out a piece of paper and tells Orton-related dad jokes, but two jokes in, Orton shows up on the TitanTron. Orton tells Wyatt that he did not realize last week that The Fiend gave him the chance to say he has come back home, but after the RKO to Bray, Bray changed, and while The Fiend outmaneuvered him last week, it will not happen again. As for Bray's field trip, Orton asks him to extend that field trip so that they can play a game of "hide and seek" tonight. Bray says he cannot resist a game, and accepts. Orton tells Bray to come find him.

Mustafa Ali and Retribution guest on commentary for the next match.

Mace beats Ricochet despite Ricochet fending off Slapjack and T-Bar. After the match, Mustafa Ali says this will not end until he says it ends, and that it will not end until Ricochet joins Retribution.

Backstage, Bray Wyatt asks Matt Riddle if he has seen Randy Orton. Riddle says he has not seen Orton, but he has seen the future, and it is "Bro-Nouns." Bray leaves, then Ramblin' Rabbit shows up. Riddle calls him "Baby Bro-da," saying Ramblin' Rabbit reminds him of Baby Yoda, then has Ramblin' Rabbit sign a carrot for his pet bunny Skipper.

It is announced that Lana has been taken to a local medical facility with devastating injuries to her elbow and leg, and as a result of the attack from Nia Jax and "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler, Lana is unable to compete at TLC.

Dana Brooke beats "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler by disuqalification after Nia Jax pushes Dana off the top rope in full view of the referee. After the match, Baszler and Nia attack Dana, but Mandy Rose shows up with a Kendo stick and attacks them until Baszler gts the upper hand. Asuka shows up and fights off Baszler, and she and Mandy clean house before checking on Dana.

Backstage, R-Truth talks with Huskus the Pig Boy when Bray Wyatt tells him not to talk to stranger. As Bray goes back to looking for Randy Orton, R-Truth thinks Bray is Huskus the Pig Boy's father.

Backstage, Bray Wyatt is still looking for Randy Orton. Suddenly, he finds a dark room with a rocking chair under a spotlight. Bray approaches the chair, which is rocking on its own, and sits down. Orton soon appears behind Bray and attacks him from behind before putting him in a wooden box, pouring gasoline on the box and lighting the box on fire. Suddenly, the box opens, and The Fiend comes out instead of Bray Wyatt. The Fiend puts the Mandible Claw on Randy Orton and easily overpowers him.

Matt Riddle quickly beats MVP. After the match, Bobby Lashley rushes to the ring, but Riddle escapes along with his box of Bro-Nutts.

Tom Phillips is in the ring for the WWE Championship ascension ceremony. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles shows up first, followed by Drew McIntyre. Styles says this is the last time that McIntyre will have the WWE Championship around his waist, and since they have never faced either one-on-one, he dived deep to find out who McIntyre was. Styles says McIntyre cannot handle the pressure of being WWE Championship despite getting the championship back, then says his loss to Orton changed him and has caused him to make mistakes. He also says that McIntyre has never been in a TLC Match while he defended the WWE Championship and won in a TLC Match, and says he knows what it takes to be a champion. Styles then says that if he has to break any weapons he gets his hands on on McIntyre to put the WWE Championship around his waist, so be it. McIntyre admits they have never wrestled before, and that this is a match he has always wanted. He also admits that he has never been in a TLC Match, and that his goal is to remain champion, saying staying on top is a whole different ballgame. He then tells Styles that he is the champion that led WWE through uncharted waters in 2020 and that he thrives under pressure, for his 19-year journey has made him this way. McIntyre tells Styles that he will tear him apart on Sunday, for he will do what it takes to both himself and Styles in order to retain the WWE Championship, and asks Styles if he is willing to do the same. As McIntyre puts the WWE Championship on the hook to be ascended, Styles says McIntyre he must have it all together, but as he asks McIntyre what if he is not the only competitor, McIntyre is attacked by The Miz and John Morrison. McIntyre soon fends them off and forearms Styles, then Omos throws the ring steps into ring, distracting McIntyre and allowing Styles to hit a chop block followed by the Phenomenal Forearm. Omos then brings a ladder into the ring at Styles' behest, and Styles lays McIntyre out with the ladder before attacking him with a chair. Styles then jumps off a ladder and puts McIntyre through the table with an elbo drop before taking the WWE Championship off the hook and holding it up to end the show.

Raw Talk: MVP is a fan of Elias's music.
