Winter Is Coming - Dynamite recap for December 2, 2020

Orange Cassidy - who spends most of the match outside of the ring - and MJF are the final two in the Dynamite Battle Royal. Cassidy and MJF will square off for the Dynamite Diamond Ring next week. During the match, Scorpio Sky eliminates Shawn Spears, and Shawn Spears gets back at Scorpio Sky by loading his glove with a metal slug handed to him by Tully Blanchard so he can knock Scorpio Sky out. It works, and Scorpio Sky is soon eliminated. Later in the match, "Hangman" Adam Page is almost eliminated, but he is saved by The Dark Order. Page hits Isiah Kassidy with the Buckshot Lariat, but he is soon eliminated by Matt Hardy. After the match, Miro comes back, and he has to be held back by referees from attacking Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Trent) when they celebrate with Cassidy.

Chris Jericho beats Frankie Kazarian despite MJF nearly throwing in the towel as Kazarian has Jericho in the Boston Crab. Jericho thinks Sammy is the one giving up on him by seeing the towel in his hand, however. After the match, MJF helps Jericho up, then MJF and Guevara go at it, and Jericho tells The Inner Circle that they have seven days before they decide to either work as a team or break up forever.

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson). Matt says they will be fighting champions, and while TheHybrid2 (Angelico and Jack Evans) may not have the winning record, they will get a title shot if they can beat them next week. Suddenly, The Acclaimed (Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) show up, and Bowens says they have arrived before Caster makes fun of the cover of their new book. Suddenly, TheHybrid2 attack The Young Bucks, then SoCal Uncensored ("The Fallen Angel" Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) chase TheHybrid2 and The Acclaimed away with a steel chair.

Dr. Britt Baker D.M.D. beats Leyla Hirsch with the Lockjaw. After the match, Thunder Rosa gets in the ring and attacks Baker, and the two of them brawl until referees get in the ring and separate them. Reba gets in the ring and punches Thunder Rosa, but Hirsch suplexes Reba afterwards before Baker and Rosa go at it again. Agents have to show up to help keep both Baker and Rosa away from each other.

Darby Allin and "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beat Team Taz ("Absolute" Ricky Starks and Powerhouse Hobbs). After the match, Hobbs attacks Darby Allin, and "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson rights Team Taz until "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes shows up and overpowers them. This leads to "The Machine" Brian Cage shows up and hitting Dustin with an F-5. Cody tries to save Dustin, but Cody is also laid out with an F-5. Hobbs is about to hit Cody with the FTW Championship when the lights go out and a winter-themed video plays on the video screen. Suddenly, Sting shows up - his first appearance on TNT since the final WCW match in history on the final WCW Monday Nitro - and Team Taz (Cage, Starks, Hobbs) leaves the ring while Sting takes a look at Arn, then Dustin, then Cody and finally Darby before leaving.

Next week: "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes vs. Preston "10" Vance! FTR (Dax Harwood and Cash Wheeler) vs. The Varsity Blonders (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.)! Abadon in action! Lance Archer and The Lucha Brothers (Penta El Zero M and Rey Fenix) vs. Eddie Kingston, The Butcher and The Blade! Sting speaks!

Backstage, Alex Marvez interviews Hikaru Shida, who says that if she is not afraid of Abadon, who says calls "a girl doing zombie cosplay." When she hears a pipe dropping, she gets afraid, then tries to start the interview again. When she cannot, she leaves.

We hear from Jox Moxley, who says that he could feel the tension in the air when he showed up for tonight's show. He says that AEW has come a long way in two years from a time where the wrestling world wrote him off until he reared back and bitch-slapped the collective professional wrestling world in the mouth. He says that he and Omega have been on a collision course and destined to be rivals, and tonight, the only thing left to do is go out to the ring and make everyone go bananas.

Don Callis guests on commentary for the next match.

Kenny Omega beats Jon Moxley to win the AEW World Championship despite attempts from Don Callis to stop the match due to Omega being hurt. Moxley knocks out Callis, and Omega takes the microphone that Callis fropped to bust open Moxley before hitting four V-Triggers followed by the One Winged Angel for the win and the title. After the match, Callis and Omega run to the back and are yelled at by Tony Khan and numerous people in the back as they run to. When Alex Marvez interviews Callis, Callis says that everything will be explained on Impact Wrestling on AXS TV next Tuesday, then he and Omega get in an SUV, which speeds off. Afterwards, Eddie Kingston gets on the microphone, saying he wants Lance Archer now.
