Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for December 8, 2020

The show begins with the ending to last week's AEW Dynamite.

Kenny Omega's tour bus is seen pulling up to the arena.

Chris Sabin beats "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander with a jackknife pin after "All Ego" Ethan Page keeps telling Alexander to drop Sabin on his head, distracting Alexander.

It is announced that Josh Mathews has the first interview with Kenny Omega.

Backstage, Chris Bey talks with Moose to go over some strategy for their tag team match tonight, but Moose says his fists speak for him. Bey says Moose will have a conversation when he becomes World Champion on Saturday, and Moose says he will look forward to talking to him on Saturday.

We hear from Tony Khan and Tony Schiavone, who advertise Dynamite via an advertisement Khan has paid for. Tony Khan says he has made Omega being here possible and calls the way Kenny Omega the way he won the AEW World title "a joke." Tony Khan then mentions some matches on the card for this week's Dynamite, brings up Schiavone's brief spell in Impact, and mentions Sting showing up on Dynamite.

Brian Myers beats TJP after tossing the referee into TJP to break the knee bar.

Backstage, Cody Deaner has to remind Cousin Jake that he has to take on Eric Young alone. Jake tells him that Joe Doering will be out there, and Cody tells him not to get involved in the match.

Backstage, Rohit Raju mocks TJP for losing to Brian Myers and 2020 not being his year, then says 2020 is his year and that his "Final Defeat Rohit" open challenge is for anyone except TJP. TJP wishes him luck on that match at Final Resolution.

Eric Young beats Cody Deaner. After the match, Eric Young and Joe Doering attack Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake. Before they can put The Deaners (Cody Deaner and Cousin Jake) away, Rhino shows up with a pipe and chases Young and Doering out of the ring.

Backstage, Tommy Dreamer tells John E. Bravo to calm down and worry about his health, then says "he's got this" before confronting XXXL (Acey Romero and Larry D). Larry D proposes a match between himself and Dreamer at Final Resolution, and if Dreamer wins, he will go quietly. If he wins, he will walk away a free man. Dreamer accepts the challenge.

Scott D'Amore tells Tommy Dreamer that while he does not like wrestlers making matches, he is okay with Dreamer facing Larry D on Saturday. Dreamer then says he is concerned with Don Callis and Kenny Omega. Scott D'Amore tells Dreamer to keep the locker room happy if he needs to, even though he is seeing good things with what is going on with Don Callis and Kenny Omega showing up on Impact.

Taya Valkyrie and Rosemary beat Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee to advance in the Knockouts Tag Team Championship Tournament.

Backstage, Tenille Dashwood wants to meet with Alisha concerning wardrobe and team names, but Alisha is preoccupied with what has happened to Eddie Edwards and says she has no time for this. Kaleb and Tenille kick Alisha off the team, and Kaleb says they will teach him a lesson. Alisha tells them to teach her a lesson later.

Backstage, Deonna Purrazzo and Kimber Lee confronts Scott D'Amore for being forced to deal with multiple things at once, but D'Amore tells Deonna she can focus solely on the Knockouts Championship now. D'Amore then puts Deonna in a match against Rosemary at Final Resolution with the Knockouts Championship on the line.

Sami Callihan is in the ring. He says he is the highest-rated wrestler in Impact, and ever since he has entered Impact, he has made Impact the company it is today and says Impact needs him more than he needs Impact. He mentions how everyone talked about the moment he hit Eddie Edwards with the baseball bat to the steel chair, saying it was the best moment of Eddie's career before playing it on the video screen. Sami laughs and says that clip gets better every time he sees it, then says Eddie never learns and keeps sticking his nose in his business only to get his ass beat, which is something Sami says will keep happening until he forces Eddie out of the business. He says that his attempt at doing it again got Ken Shamrock suspended, but Shamrock is taking a vacation while he holds things down, then asks for the footage on his recent baseball bat attack to be played. Alisha suddenly shows up instead, and Sami Callihan tells Alisha that she nearly got a piledriver from Eric Young last time and that the difference between him and Eric is that he will break her neck. Alisha tells Sami she did not come alone, and Sami is suddenly attacked from behind by Eddie Edwards, who stops Sami from grabbing his baseball bat by standing on his arm before grabbing the bat from his hand. Sami is forced to retreat as Eddie swings for the fences.

Backstage, Alisha asks Eddie Edwards to take care of her problem after she took care of his. Eddie is still fired up and ready to do anything after that.

Chris Bey and Moose beat Rich Swann and Willie Mack.

Backstage, Rich Swann finds out that Kenny Omega - not Moose - is blocking the entire parking lot, and only people on a list can get in. As he does, Josh Mathews gets through and enters Kenny Omega's tour bus, where he meets Omega and Don Callis. Callis removes Jon Moxley's name plate off the AEW World Championship to replace it with Omega's while Mathews interviews Omega. Callis says he and Omega has planned this for years ever since Omega's uncle The Golden Sheik trained him and introduced him to his nephew Kenny, whom he looked over in his formative years like The Golden Sheik looked over him. Callis says he has come back to the wrestling world after years of inactivity for this moment, and considers himself and Omega family, then says they have changed history not once, but twice. He says the first moment was when Omega teamed with Jericho in the Tokyo Dome, and the second moment was last week on Dynamite when Omega won the AEW World Championship, saying they are righting the course of history. Callis goes on to say some people make matches and memories, but he and Omega make history. When asked if what happened last week tarnishes his legacy, Omega tells Josh Mathews that if someone struck his father figure, he would exact revenge, and says that Moxley made things personal when he laid his hands on Callis. Omega then says his legacy is not tarnished, as everybody wanted him to be champion, and that he has had numerous highly rated matches around the world. He then compares taking the AEW World Championship is like getting Action Comics #1 in his comic book collection, then says that he might add some Impact Wrestling titles to his belt collection. Moxley and Callis then say they have a big announcement tomorrow night on Dynamite, then closes out the interview with a "goodnight bang."
