Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for December 4, 2020

In memory of Pat Patterson, 1941 - 2020.

Kayla Braxton interviews Roman Reigns in the ring to start tonight's show. Roman shows up with Jey Uso and Paul Heyman, and after Heyman tells Braxton how to properly introduce Roman followed by a video package of last week, Roman tells Kayla she is asking a stupid question in asking if he fears Kevin Owens. When asked if he is manipulating Jey Uso, he calls this question "stupid words" and says he is a provider, and that Kayla Braxton has blown it with her first two questions. Heyman handles "this stupid amateur" and says Roman has given his family something to aspire to. Owens then shows up and says that since neither he or Roman fear each other, they can settling things right now. Jey takes the microphone and says they are ready, but Owens says he was talking to "the head of the table," not "the busboy." Owens then proposes that he and Roman can either go at it in a TLC Match for the Universal Championship at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs and settle things like men, or they can do it right now. Roman accepts and says he would beat him up right now, but the time is not right. Roman says he is a gentleman, not a savage, and that there is a lady in the ring, then tells Owens to grow up as he, Heyman and Jey Uso leave. As they leave, Owens says he will grow up when Roman grows some balls, then calls Roman a bitch.

Backstage, Jey Uso apologizes to Roman Reigns, saying he had to challenge Kevin Owens, but Roman stops him and tells him that there are consequences for everything he does.

Bianca Belair guests on commentary for the next match.

Natalya beats Bayley with the Sharpshooter as Bianca Belair stands up and claps at Bayley.

We see a video package chronicling the life of Pat Patterson.

Daniel Bryan, Rey Mysterio and Big E beat Sami Zayn, Shinsuke Nakamura and Dolph Ziggler. After the match, Daniel Bryan, Big E and Rey Mysterio take out Sami and Nakamura, and Ziggler tries to call a truce. Daniel gives Ziggler a powerful atomic drop, then Ziggler falls onto the rope and into place for a 619 before Big E hits Ziggler with a Big Ending.

Backstage, Kayla Braxton interviews Kevin Owens. He says he used to respect Roman Reigns as he was never the guy who had his own locker room or looked down at people, then says Roman changed somehow and it is "despicable." Owens admits he has not been the best person when Kalisto unknowingly walks in on the interview. After an awkward yet polite conversation, Owens says what just happened is somehow hard for Roman. Suddenly, Otis shows up. Otis agrees with Owens, saying that Roman does not respect people like them and he will bulldoze through Roman and Jey Uso tonight.

Carmella and Sasha Banks are interviewed in separate rooms. Sasha says Carmella wishes she could be like her, but says she can give her props despite getting help every chance she got. Sasha says she and Carmella never faced off because Carmella isn't in her league and never will be. Carmella says she has more than Sasha's attention and that Sasha is jealous of her because everything came so easily for her. Carmella says she is superior to Sasha in every way and that Sasha cannot handle it, and that she is "the hot chick" who will embarrass her and take her title. Sasha says Carmella thinking she can take her is embarrassing. Sasha then says they will settle things for the SmackDown Women's Championship at TLC: Tables, Ladders and Chairs.

Two hooded men accompany King Corbin to the ring before the next match. It is announced on commentary by Corey Graves later in the match that the two hooded men are Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler, formerly of The Forgotten Sons with Jaxson Ryker.

King Corbin beats Murphy after Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler attack Rey and Dominik Mysterio. Murphy makes the save and chases them into the ring, but Corbin hits Murphy with End of Days for the win.

Backstage, The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) talk about what is going between Roman Reigns and Jey Uso, then Robert Roode shows up and says he and Dolph Ziggler should be tag team champions, and Cesaro shows up and says he and Nakamura are the number one team. This leads to The Street Profits arguing with Cesaro and Roode.

Kevin Owens and Otis vs. Roman Reigns and Jey Uso ends with Roman putting Owens in a guillotine choke despite not being the legal man. Once again, Jey Uso spends the first few minutes of the match on his own before Roman shows up. After the match, Jey Uso brings some steel chairs into the ring, and he and Roman smack the steel chairs into Owens. Jey then splashes a steel chair into Owens' body from the top rope, then Roman attacks Jey with his own steel chair. Roman tells Owens that if he wanted his attention, then the whole world is watching, and at TLC, he will take everything that Owens loves and Owens' family will feel him.
