Generation NXT - NXT recap for December 2, 2020

In memory of Pat Patterson, 1941 - 2020.

Johnny Gargano guests on commentary for the next match.

In footage from earlier tonight, Damian Priest is met by Raul Mendoza and Joaquin Wilde. When Wilde gets in Priest's face, Priest grabs him and throws him into a steel retracting door.

Damian Priest and Leon Ruff beat Legado del Fantasma (Santos Escobar and Raul Mendoza). During the match, a man in a Scream match is seen in the crowd, briefly distracting Priest. After the match, two people in Scream masks are seen behind Johnny Gargano.

As Shotzi Blackheart fixes her tank, Rhea Ripley and Ember Moon reveal the new engine. Shotzi loves it.

We get a special look at The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong).

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Candice LeRae, who says that Shotzi Blackheart's team has only two people who are damaged goods while she has everything, and that Indi Hartwell took a bullet for the tam last week. Raquel Gonzalez says the team will have the advantage while Shotzi will feel like she just got run over like a tank.

Cameron Grimes beats August Grey. After the match, Grimes connects the leather strap he has brought with him to the ring to Grey before laying him out and whipping him with the strap to send a message to Dexter Lumis. When Grey rolls out of the ring, Grimes pulls on the strap only to find out Lumis is on the other side, and Lumis whips him in the lower back with the strap.

Jake Atlas beats "The Premier Athlete" Tony Nese. During the match, Pat McAfee, Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch and Pete Dunne enter the arena. After the match, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Atlas, who says that while bad things always happen, he has always turned it around. He says this win is just the beginning, and he will keep going until he reaches Santos Escobar and the Cruiserweight title.

Pat McAfee, Oney Lorcan, Danny Burch and Pete Dunne show up. After stating he has respect for the late Pat Patterson, Pat McAfee says she has no respect for the fans or for The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong). After calling The Undisputed Era's night out from earlier the worst night out he has ever seen, McAfee says his team might as well have one themselves, as the team has been built on more money than the fans will ever see in their lives. McAfee says his team has run things since they got here, and at TakeOver: WarGames, it will be about his team. He tells the fans to envision themselves as a member of The Undisputed Era and feel all the pain that they will go through. McAfee then says that on Sunday, it will be his team that will break The Undisputed Era, which Pete Dunne agrees with, then McAfee says his team is the greatest.

We see a vignette for Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake), who are up next.

We see Xia Li and Boa repeatedly submerge themselves in water before their master, then bow to him. They are then struck in the back with Kendo sticks.

Before the next match, Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) attack Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel) before they face Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake), then say that the tag team division belongs to them and that they will put Grizzled Young Veterans in their place like everyone else.

Imperium (Fabian Aichner and Marcel Barthel) vs. Grizzled Young Veterans (Zack Gibson and James Drake) ends with Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel) attacking both teams.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell tries to interview Ever-Rise (Chase Parker and Matt Martel), but they storm off.

Timothy Thatcher is in the ring to teach how to deal with distractions. Suddenly, Tommaso Ciampa is in the ring, and he tells Thatcher that he is here to teach. Thatcher says he has no problem with him, then Ciampa calls him a disappointment. Thatcher gets back in the ring and tries to get a cheap shot with a takedown, but Ciampa fights back. Timothy's student attacks Ciampa briefly, then Thatcher sends Ciampa into the barricade. Thatcher puts Ciampa to sleep as soon as he gets him back in the ring, then he leaves. (The student here is played by independent wrestler Rust Taylor, who has recently been signed to NXT is perhaps best known as being one-half of The Soul Burners with Thomaste in Championship Wrestling From Hollywood.)

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Timothy Thatcher, who says that he is happy with his student from earlier showing initiative and wanting to learn, and that Tommaso Ciampa learned about distractions and respect.

Shotzi Blackheart beats Raquel Gonzalez in a Ladder Match to give her team the advantage in the women's WarGames Match. During the match, Candice LeRae's team leaves their platform, but so does Shotzi's team, and Indi Hartwell tries to get involved in the match only to be kicked in the face by Shotzi. Raquel takes down Shotzi with a clothesline, but Shirai leaps on Raquel to put her in a sleeper only to send her over the top rope and take out everybdoy at ringside - including security - with a top rope moonsault. This allows Shotzi to climb the winner and take the briefcase to give her team the one-person advantage.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
