Layin 'da SmackDown! - SmackDown recap for June 28, 2013

Damien Sandow trashes South Carolina before his Dublin Street Fight match against Sheamus.

Sheamus beats Damien Sandow in a Dublin Street Fight.

Kane meets Daniel Bryan...who is in a much better mood, and perhaps too bubbly, much to Kane's chagrin. He offers his help in case he still needs it, but Kane is still a bit peeved.

The Miz is in the ring with Paul Heyman for Miz TV...and Miz makes it clear that he won't take Heyman's crap, especially after how he hounded Renee Young last week. Heyman thinks Miz is bulying him and summons Curtis Axel, who shows up. The Miz considers Axel an uninvited guest, and makes Star Wars-based insults towards both Axel and Heyman before saying he'll take the Intercontinental title away from the former. Axel takes this personally, and Miz wants to make it even more personal and challenges him to a fight for the Intercontinental title right here, right now. Paul Heyman stops everything yet again, saying Axel doesn't fight for free or on an impromptu basis. Paul Heyman makes fun of Miz, but when Miz fires back at him, Axel gets a nasty attack in on Miz before he and Heyman leave.

Before AJ Lee and Natalya go one-on-one, Kaitlyn shows up dressed as AJ and starts vicious fake rumours about AJ dating various WWE staff members, including Lilian Garcia.

Natalya beats AJ Lee when Kaitlyn distracts AJ by skipping around the ring. After the match, Kaitlyn hits a Spear on AJ.

Teddy Long meets Vince McMahon. Long is going in a different direction that Vickie Guerrero and even Booker T: instead of having all former World champions for the SmackDown Money In The Bank Ladder Match, he's giving potential World champions a shot. Wade Barrett, Damien Sandow, Antonio Cesaro, Jack Swagger, Cody Rhodes, Fandango and Dean Ambrose are all going for the blue briefcase!

Daniel Bryan guests on commentary for the next match.

Daniel Bryan pushes Kane back into the ring...only for Randy Orton to hit the RKO on Kane! Randy Orton beats Kane.

Ryback beats Justin Gabriel, then Chris Jericho comes out and mocks Ryback, calling him "Cryback." Both Jericho and Ryback brawl in the ring, but Jericho gets the upper hand before Ryback flees.

Christian and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) after Christian hits the Spear on Dean Ambrose.

Alberto Del Rio's fiesta occurs. Del Rio celebrates his status as new World Heavyweight title-holder and 4-time world champion.  Del Rio speaks Spanish for a while before he and Ricardo Rodriguez bust a piƱata with Dolph Ziggler's head on it. Del Rio guarantees he will win at Money In The Bank and stay world champ, then calls out Dolph Ziggler because he knows he's going to wreck the party. Dolph shows up, walks down the ramp, then charges into the ring and cleans house. Ricardo goes through a table, and Del Rio eats a Zig-Zag. He almost also eats a guitar shot but flees, and Ziggler plays a hit single on Ricardo's head instead. Ziggler then plays with the mariachi band as the balloons descend into the crowd.

Final Impact - TNA Impact Wrestling recap for June 27, 2013

Sting comes out minus the facepaint and in sunglasses and a three-piece suit. He calls out Kurt Angle, also in a suit. Both men are aiming to take out Aces and Eights and bring the world title back to TNA...and Angle says they will have a new member soon.

Aces and Eights accost Chris Sabin to wish him luck in his match tonight...then Bully Ray warns him not to cash in his shot at the world title before letting him go.

We check out Gut Check hopeful Adam Ohriner (best remembered as The Big O from Zack Ryder's Internet show "Z! True Long Island Story").

Suicide beats Kenny King and Chris Sabin to win the TNA X Division Championship! But Hulk Hogan shows up with a beat-up TJ Perkins...the real Suicide! (This leads to the Internet laughing at TNA as he is not the first to portray Suicide, with Kazarian, Christopher Daniels and Kiyoshi having donned the Suicide suit before Perkins ever did.) After it is revealed that someone jumped Perkins and stole the Suicide suit, the fake Suicide disappears with the X Division title.

Hulk Hogan wants the fake Suicide to reveal himself before the end of the night!

We check out Gut Check hopeful Ryan Howe!

Adam Ohriner beats Ryan Howe.

Sting and Kurt Angle are up to something...

TJ Perkins meets Bully Ray. Bully thinks the Main Event Mafia (Sting and Kurt Angle) put him up to this, but a dejected Perkins assures his beatdown was impromptu and very, very real.

Mickie James gives Velvet Sky a chance to walk away before she gets hurt again...but Velvet attacks Mickie for calling her a "three dollar pack mule!"

Mickie James retains the TNA Knockouts Championship against Velvet Sky by submission. Christy Hemme interviews a devastated Velvet, whose knee was apparently still injured the entire time.

Sting and Kurt Angle encounter Bobby Roode...

Hulk Hogan tries to get information from the ref from the X Division title match about the fake Suicide, but gets nothing. He tells him to find the fake Suicide and tell him to reveal himself or be stripped of the X Division title.

Magnus beats Bobby Roode to win seven points in the Bound For Glory series.

Aces and Eights ask Robbie E, Jesse and Chavo Guerrero if they are the fake Suicide and whether or not they've seen Sting or Kurt Angle. They haven't, and they know nothing.

"The Cowboy" James Storm and Gunner are in the ring. Storm chose Gunner for his tag team partner because he's tough. Robbie E, Jesse and Tara show up, and Robbie E says Storm made a mistake for not picking him. He then says that he and Jessie Godderz - the Bro Mans - are the future of the tag team division. James Storm swears he heard "bromance" before calling Tara a "butterface." Gunner knocks Jessie out with one punch, and the Bro Mans retreat.

Sting and Kurt Angle look for the fake Suicide...

DOC and Knux of Aces and Eights run in to provide a distraction, but Sting and Kurt Angle beat them up and force them to retreat, enabling Samoa Joe to beat Mr. Anderson with the Rear Naked Choke for a ten-point victory! It is then revealed that Joe is in the Main Event Mafia!

Sting and Kurt Angle welcome Samoa Joe aboard to the Main Event Mafia.

Hulk Hogan shows up and calls out the fake Suicide, who shows up and gets a microphone but refuses to reveal himself. Bully Ray shows up and demands the mask to be removed, and tells the faker he got lucky tonight because he put the fear of Bully Ray into Chris Sabin. Suicide then asks Bully Ray if he knows who he is, and says he beat Bully Ray once before. He unmasks. It's Austin Aries, the very same man who created "Option C" last year, and he wants to beat Bully again for another world title reign.

Wednesday Night's Main Event - Main Event recap for June 26, 2013

Chris Jericho beats Cody Rhodes with the Walls of Jericho.

Zeb Colter and Antonio Cesaro show up. Zeb Colter talks about outsourcing and illegal immigration, and says that if you can't even do so much as to understand English, then you should leave America. Cesaro calls himself "the American Dream."

Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns interfere in Christian vs. Dean Ambrose, pushing Christian off the turnbuckle. As they and Ambrose attack Christian, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) rush in and save him. The Shield (Ambrose, Rollins, Reigns) retreat.

Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay and Tensai) has a new intro involving new Funkadactyl JoJo (who will be in the upcoming Total Divas on E!). (The intro ends up being used only once due to lukewarm fan reception, and Jojo never appears with them again after this.)

The Prime Time Players (Darren Yojng and Titus O'Neil) beat Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay and Tensai) when Darren Young grabs one of Brodus's legs as Titus O'Neil gets the pin.

Raw Deal - Raw recap for June 24, 2013

Before his rematch with Randy Orton, Daniel Bryan address those who thinks he suffers from "little man's syndrome": he wasn't an extra in The Hobbit, and they're all morons. Beating Orton by count-out isn't enough and is how a weak link would take the victory. He wants a pinfall or submission. Orton shows up and tells D-Bry to shut up and fight!

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton ends in a no-contest after degenerating into an all-out brawl from the very start. All the refs have to hold both men back.

Daniel Bryan yells at Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox for a rematch against Randy Orton, and gets it from Vicki when he threatens to have a match with Maddox, who tries to talk him out of it. Vince McMahon shows up afterwards and talks to Brad and Vicki. He wants the D-Bry vs Randy Orton match cancelled due to D-Bry's mental issues and the fact that he's "too small."

Sheamus and Christian beat Team Rhodes Scholars (Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes).

Vickie Guerrero tries to tell CM Punk he has a match, but Punk makes it clearly known that he only cares about whether or not Paul Heyman or Brock Lesnar shows up.

Kaitlyn beats Aksana, despite the distraction by AJ Lee, who is dressed just like Kaitlyn in a fake suit that even exggerates Kaitlyn's muscles. AJ makes fun of Kaitlyn's boy troubles as of late as well as the fact that Kaitlyn lost the Divas title to her with the help of Big E Langston. Layla has to hold Kaitlyn back.

Chris Jericho beats Alberto Del Rio by disqualification when Ricardo Rodriguez interferes. Dolph Ziggler shows up and beats up Del Rio as Jericho hits Ricardo with the Codebreaker. Both men then stare each other down, then Ziggler hits the Zig Zag on Jericho as he leaves.

Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox meet Triple H, who wants the Daniel Bryan-Randy Orton rematch to go on...and he wants the WWE Universe to pick the stipulation via the WWE App!

Vickie Guerrero, Brad Maddox and Jerry Lawler announce the launch of WWE '14 (which is now WWE 2K14). The game now has a contest where the WWE Universe can make their own cover...and the winner gets their custom cover displayed on the flipside of every copy of the game. Vickie then announces the three possible stipulations for Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton: street fight, lumberjack and falls count anywhere. She then shows her cover for WWE 2K14, which displays Vince McMahon, Stephanie McMahon and Triple H. Brad shows off his, which has him, John Cena and CM Punk. We then see the real cover, which shows The Rock.

Ryback beats The Great Khali.

John Cena shows up. After talking about the WWE title, he says that Mark Henry cheated both his family and the WWE Universe with a fake retirement speech. Cena then tells Henry that he'll have to go through him at Money In The Bank in three weeks...and he won't be able to.

Contest winner Scotty Campbell come out with Tons of Funk (Brodus and Clay and Tensai) before the next match.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat Tons of Funk (Brodus Clay and Tensai) and 3MB (Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal) in a Triple Threat tag team match to become #1 contenders for the tag team titles. The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) show up and taunt The Usos from the crowd.

Paul Heyman shows up. He calls out CM Punk to clear the air between him, Punk and Brock Lesnar. CM Punk shows up and talks about how his relationship with Paul Heyman started. He wants Heyman to tell Lesnar that he is coming for him and that he will bring him down. He then asks if Heyman had anything to do with Lesnar attacking him last week. Heyman swears on his children that he had nothing to do with this and had no idea Lesnar was there...but that Punk picked a fight with Lesnar by saying Lesnar needed Heyman's help. Heyman knows better than to screw up what he has. He loves Punk as a best friend, and would never represent anyone who is against CM Punk, including Brock Lesnar. Heyman even wants to walk down the ramp as he reclaims the WWE title. He then places his fate in Punk's hands. After a silent minute or two, Punk says "I'm sorry I doubted you" and hugs Heyman.

CM Punk beats Darren Young with the Anaconda Vice, then Darren Young and Titus O'Neil attack Punk, whose knee is still giving him trouble. Curtis Axel shows up to help clean house against the Prime Time Players, then Paul Heyman climbs into the ring. Punk tells Axel he doesn't need his help.

Vicki Guerrero meets Stephanie McMahon, who says she will announce the Money In The Bank Ladder Match participants for the WWE title.

The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella) hands out posters to the front row.

Stephanie McMahon shows up to announce the Money In The Bank participants for the WWE title briefcase: CM Punk, Daniel Bryan, Sheamus, Randy Orton, Christian, Kane...and Rob Van Dam!

Ryback wants a rematch against John Cena from Vickie Guerrero, and wants Mark Henry bumped out of the match at Money In The Bank. Chris Jericho shows up and complains about not being in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match. Both men trade words and stare each other down until Vickie puts them in a match against each other at the pay-per-view.

CM Punk and Paul Heyman squabble about earlier before Heyman admits he made a match for next week with Vickie Guerrero: The Prime Time Players (Darren Young and Titus O'Neil) vs. Curtis Axel and CM Punk. Punk is ticked, but is fighting in the match since it's his fight anyway. After this, he's going for the WWE title again.

Mark Henry shows up. He gloats about fooling the WWE Universe and using everyone, before saying he will walk out of Money In The Bank as WWE Champion.

On SmackDown, Alberto Del Rio will have a fiesta, while Damien Sandow and Sheamus will have a Dublin Street Fight!

Randy Orton vs. Daniel Bryan will be a street fight.

Daniel Bryan beats Randy Orton with the No Lock latched on with a kendo stick in a Street Fight. Randy and Daniel shake hands after the match.

More Bray Wyatt! Yay!

Also, this never gets old.

Layin 'da SmackDown! - SmackDown recap for June 21, 2013

Daniel Bryan comes out. For the first time in his 13-year career, his match against Randy Orton on RAW was stopped due to injury, even though he felt he could have gone on. He thinks WWE considers him to be the weak link, as does Daniel Bryan, who showed respect to him after the match. Daniel Bryan, however, felt Orton insulted him and showed "pity." D-Bry wants a rematch. Orton shows up, mouths "You're wrong" to him, and tells D-Bry the match was stopped because he couldn't defend himself...and that he showed respect instead of pity after the match. Daniel Bryan isn't convinced, obviously. Orton says that even if the rematch is stopped, he'll make sure D-Bry doesn't walk out under his own power.

Sheamus beats Cody Rhodes with the Cloverleaf...only to get beat up by Damien Sandow.

The Miz guests on commentary for the next match.

Curtis Axel retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Wade Barrett, then The Miz climbs in the ring. Paul Heyman pushes Axel away from an impromptu confrontation.

AJ Lee beats Natalya with the Black Widow as Kaitlyn and Layla watch from backstage. Aksana then insults Kaitlyn, calling her trash, and ends up with a garbage can full of trash dumped on her. The rest of the Divas have to hold them back.

Alberto Del Rio beats Chris Jericho by disqualification when Dolph Ziggler beats up Del Rio as Jericho puts an interfering Ricardo Rodriguez in the Walls of Jericho. Del Rio and Ricardo flee as Jericho puts Ziggler in a Codebreaker, then run back into the ring to further torture Ziggler.

Christian beats Drew McIntyre. After the match, he tells the Peeps it's great to be back, but The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) show up to cut the celebration short, this time by entering through the entrance ramp instead of the crowd prior to attacking Christian and hitting him with a three-man power bomb.

Renee Young interviews Paul Heyman and asks about Brock Lesnar attacking CM Punk. Since she wants to ask him about his "personal life," he grills Renee about hers before stating he and Punk are best friends...nothing more.

Daniel Bryan beats Randy Orton by count-out. D-Bry is ticked and wants the ref to restart the match.

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for June 20, 2013

Hulk Hogan comes out. The ten qualifying participants of the Bound For Glory Series are in the ring. Hogan brings out the last two BFG Series winners, who get a bye into the tournament: Jeff Hardy and Bobby Roode. As part of the BFG Series kick-off on Open Fight Night, the winner of last week's poll gets to make a call-out. That winner is Hardy. Before Hardy can make a choice, Austin Aries and Christopher Daniels tell Hardy not to call them out. Hardy goes by the predictable choice: Bobby Roode, who made it personal last week. Roode pushes Hardy, then Hardy pushes back, starting a huge brawl between all twelve men.

Mr. Anderson comes out and calls Joseph Park out.

Mr. Anderson beats Joseph Park with the help of D.O.C., earning seven points.

Mr. Anderson and D.O.C. argue over who should be the next Vice President. Bully Ray stops the argument, as the club has important business involving Bully's wife Brooke Hogan. Bully makes it clear they have no time for this.

Jay Bradley calls out Austin Aries.

Austin Aries beats Jay Bradley, winning seven points.

Sting has plans right now to form his Main Event Mafia...

After the break, Sting gets one person to join the Main Event Mafia.

Chavo Guerrero hypes up Hernandez for his match.

Hernandez calls out Christopher Daniels.

Christopher Daniels beats Hernandez with a sneaky low blow that the referee does not see, earning seven points.

Kazarian calls out Magnus.

Magnus beats Kazarian by submission, earning 10 points.

Hulk Hogan catches Bully Ray sneaking up on him, and wants to end the tense situation between them once and for all. Bully Ray doesn't want Hulk...instead, he wants his daughter, Brooke Hogan. He then asks Hogan to figure out why Brooke stopped him last week.

Brooke Hogan comes to the ring for the State of the Knockouts address. All the Knockouts come out, and Mickie James has her own individual entrance where she takes potshots at Velvet Sky. Eric Young and ODB relinquish the TNA Knockouts Tag Team Championships, then kiss and run off. Velvet Sky gets her rematch...as does Gail Kim, who gets a Ladder Match against Taryn Terrell.

Hulk Hogan asks Brooke Hogan to leave the arena, so further unwanted drama does not happen.

AJ Styles gets on the mic and says that he's in the Bound For Glory Series for the World title only, and that TNA is no place for heroes. He's tired of doing the right thing...and instead, he's doing his own thing.

AJ Styles and Samoa Joe fight to a time limit draw, and both earn two points each. The ref has to separate both men when AJ gets another shot in afterward.

Bully Ray tells Brooke Hogan to return to the arena, as he really wants to talk to her tonight. She says that she will, and Bully tells Aces and Eights to ensure that she meets up with him.

Hulk Hogan tells Chris Sabin, Kenny King and Suicide to make their X Division title match next week a good one.

Jeff Hardy beats Bobby Roode to earn seven points.

Bully Ray and Sting head to the ring...

Bully Ray comes out. Fifteen guys are going after his World title, but he's confident that he will overcome. He then calls out Brooke Hogan so he can talk to her. Sting comes out instead, and to the Main Event Mafia theme. Sting cares about family (unlike Bully Ray), then takes off his suit and button-down shirt as Bully Ray threatens to call out Aces and Eights to sic them on him. After Sting throws his jacket at Bully, he points to the TitanTron. Aces and Eights are laid out, and Sting chases Bully Ray up the entrance ramp after getting a shot in on him. The first member of the new Main Event Mafia shows up...and it's Kurt Angle, who puts Bully in an Ankle Lock Submission as Sting tells Bully "I told you so."

Cody Rhodes takes the place of Ricardo Rodriguez on commentary this week.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) beat The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) and Justin Gabriel.

Antonio Cesaro beats Sin Cara.

Kaitlyn beats Aksana.

Monday, June 17, 2013

Raw Deal - Raw recap for June 17, 2013

Alberto Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez show up. Del Rio defends his vicious beatdown on Dolph Ziggler by saying that Ziggler took the World title from him the exact same way...picking the bones while he was injured. He says he's done everything for the WWE Universe, but they've "always cheered for the opponent." After saying he won the title for him, he decides to give the Universe another chance, and he'll show them why he's the best. CM Punk and Paul Heyman show up. Punk challenges Del Rio (even though Heyman is against it), and Del Rio doesn't want to go. Vickie Guerrero shows up with Brad Maddox and makes the match official.

CM Punk tells Paul Heyman he doesn't need his help winning matches and doesn't need him at ringside.

Wade Barrett finds out via Vickie Guerrero that his rematch against Curtis Axel for the Intercontinental title will have to wait. She's got another opponent for him: the returning Christian, who hasn't been in action in months!

Christian beats Wade Barrett.

Will Daniel Bryan vs Randy Orton be no-disqualification, no count-out or two-out-of-three falls? Stay tuned, as you'll soon be able to choose on the WWE App!

Team Rhodes Scholars (Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes) beat Sheamus when Damien Sandow gets a surprise roll-up on the Celtic Warrior. A miffed Sheamus then Brogue Kicks Rhodes afterwards.

Triple H, Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox all meet and agree with how well the show is going. Triple H tells Vicki to make an example of The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) if they meddle about in any way tonight.

Daniel Bryan and Kane talk. Once again, Daniel Bryan talks about having to prove himself, and says he has to win the WWE championship. Team Hell No is all but done.

On the WWE App, Randy Orton blames his and Daniel Bryan's loss last night on the latter.

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton is officially a no-disqualification match.

Daniel Bryan vs. Randy Orton is almost called off after Orton lands an inadvertent low blow on Bryan. Randy Orton wins, then shows good sportmanship to a disappointed Bryan.

AJ Lee and Big E Langston come out. Once again, Doph Ziggler is out of action following another concussion at Payback. She then says there is no equal to her...and issues an open challenge to the back. Stephanie McMahon, of all people, shows up. She tells AJ to stop being the stereotypical vicious backbiter and to act like a real champion. AJ tries to verbally crap on her advice, but Steph reminds her she can take all her glory - and her job - away from her and that she can do the whole crazy thing better than AJ because she's a McMahon, dammit. The rest of the Divas show up as Stephanie McMahon leaves, and Steph warns them not to interrupt her ever again. Kaitlyn congratulates AJ Lee...then beats her up. Big E Langston has to rescue AJ and hold her back.

Dean Ambrose vs Kane ends when The Shield (Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) and Ambrose put Kane in a three-man powerbomb.

The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) mock Vickie Guerrero, and Vince McMahon congratulates them when she's about to inflict severe repercussions on the trio.

Zeb Colter shows up and talks about both national issues du jour...and Antonio Cesaro, who says "We the people." It's official: Cesaro is now in Colter's corner.

Antonio Cesaro beats William Regal. As he and Zeb Colter recite the Pledge of Allegiance, Cesaro drapes a "Don't Tread On Me" flag on Regal.

John Cena comes out. His favorite Superstars are the WWE Universe due to their honest. He will continue to perservere, and he says he's ready for any Money In The Bank Briefcase cash-in. Whoever beats him for the WWE Championship has earned it.

"The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry shows up. John Cena is still in the ring. Mark asks Cena to stay in the ring, as he shows his respect to everyone in this business. He also says Cena will be the greatest champion of all time. After telling his family he's coming home, John Cena raises Mark Henry's hand. When they hug, Cena eats a World's Strongest Slam instead. Henry tells him he's got a lot left in the tank.

Renee Young interviews "The World's Strongest Man" Mark Henry. Henry's not going anywhere, and he is challenging John Cena for the WWE title. One of the boots in his hand is going up Cena's rear end.

Chris Jericho beats Heath Slater, then beats up Drew McIntyre and Jinder Mahal!

Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel are interviewed by Matt Striker. Heyman's just giving CM Punk some space. That's all.

The Miz joins on commentary for the next match.

Curtis Axel beats Sin Cara.

Vince McMahon congratulates Vickie Guerrero and Brad Maddox on a great show. Stephanie McMahon and Triple H show up, however, and tell her the opposite. Each one tells Vickie to listen only to them. As for Mark Henry vs John Cena for the WWE title, it will happen at Money In The Bank.

Daniel Bryan will be able to fight against Dean Ambrose on SmackDown Friday night.

CM Punk beats Alberto Del Rio by count-out when Del Rio and Ricardo Rodriguez flee...only for Del Rio to be pounded on by Dolph Ziggler and chased out of the arena. Brock Lesnar then shows up, music and all. He grabs the mic, then puts Punk in an F5.

Now have some more Wyatt Family!

My predictions for WWE Payback

Another pay-per-view, another predictions blog entry. Let's do this.

Kick-off

Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow

They're calling the pre-show the "kick-off" now. I guess "pre-show" just didn't have good connotations to it anymore. Regardless of whatever it's called, this match is in the perfect slot to put Sheamus in a feud just because while Damien Sandow trudges around in the mid-card yet again. Give one of these guys a title shot already, sheesh.

Winner: Sheamus. They're just going to make him the super-warrior they always do in WWE.

Three Stages of Hell Match
for the WWE Championship

John Cena vs. Ryback

Extreme Rules could have been the place and time to end all this, but it ended in controversy instead. Ryback challenged Cena to an ambulance match, but Cena one-upped it all with a Three Stages of Hell match.

The first match will be a Lumberjack match. The second will be a Tables match. If both men are tied after the Tables match, the third stage will be the Ambulance match Ryback is clamoring for. There will be ambulances. Trust me.

Winner: Ryback. He had Cena where he wanted him last time. He can do it again. If the belt is to go around his waist, now would be the best time.

Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk

CM Punk finally returns to in-ring action for the first time in two months in front of a healthy Chicago crowd...and who better to do it with than Chris Jericho, who asked for this match directly from Paul Heyman to see who is truly "Best In The World."

Winner: CM Punk. I like both guys...honest! But CM Punk will be better than he was before the wear and tear on his knee that he finally had to fix. He needed the break after six years of breaking every rung on the wooden ladder he climbed to the top on. Now he needs the win to re-assert himself.

Triple Threat Match
for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Wade Barrett vs. The Miz vs. Curtis Axel

No Fandango? Blame a concussion he suffered in the last few weeks on SmackDown for his absence here. It was then going to be just Barrett and Miz, but then Paul Heyman showed up to say that his newest client Curtis Axel is now in the running as per Vickie Guerrero. Michael McGillicutty, we hardly knew ye.

Winner: Curtis Axel. Barrett's done nothing but lose, and while I'd like to see Miz win, WWE has the perfect opportunity to push Axel to superstardom and give him the belt his father "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig made famous. Axel it is.

For the WWE Tag Team Championships

The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns)
vs.
Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan

You were expecting D-Bry and Kane? Sorry, but Vicki Guerrero gave it to D-Bry and Orton for beating The Shield on SmackDown...by disqualification. Meanwhile, Kane has to face Dean Ambrose for the United States title, which I'll go over later. The three men beat The Shield in six-man action on the SmackDown before Payback. Can they keep this going? We'll see.

Winner: The Shield. This will be a fun mach to look forward to, if you like Daniel Bryan. The Shield will get this one by hook or by crook somehow, even if it means having to bend the rules.

For the WWE United States Championship

Dean Ambrose vs. Kane

See the last match I mentioned. That pretty much sums this up.

Winner: Dean Ambrose. He's too over. While winning this could put Kane in the "all current belts" club with Big Show, it wouldn't make much sense to end Ambrose's reign as US champ so soon.

For the WWE Divas Championship

Kaitlyn vs. AJ Lee

Finally, finally, finally. The match we've been wanting to see ever since The Chickbusters broke up in 2012 and starting going at each other's throats due to AJ going cuckoo and having a screwed-up love life. We've had it before, but at least they'll do it right this time (I hope).

Oh, and the "secret admirer" going for Kaitlyn's affection was Big E Langston, who in turn was doing this with AJ Lee to play mind games with Kaitlyn, causing her to smack a referee and get fined $10,000. SWERVE!

Winner: AJ Lee. They've done nothing with Kaitlyn since she won it from the departing Eve Torres (besides this). Meanwhile, everyone wants AJ to have the belt. Let her have it. Let her eat cake.

For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio

The stage is focused firmly on Ziggler and Del Rio, now that Swagger is suspended for 30 days following the pre-WrestleMania weed bust down in Mississippi, explaining the lack of Zeb Colter-ing on WWE programming while I save enquiring minds 99 cents on a psychic hotline (or an enormous four-figure tab on 1-900-909-9900, take your pick).

Winner: Ziggler. He hasn't even defended it once. Why end it now?

And there you have it...my predictions for Payback! Whaddya think?

Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for June 14, 2013

Daniel Bryan shows up and talks about his crazy WWE career. He then calls out Kane after calling Team Hell No "one of the greatest tag teams in history." D-Bry tells him they might split if he and Randy Orton win the tag titles at Payback. Kane is more worried about the six-man tag team with them and Orton against The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns) tonight. D-Bry then hints and then confirms that if he and Orton beat The Shield at Payback, then it will mean Kane is the weakest link. Kane almost choke slams D-Bry, but Orton runs in and warns Kane that if he choke slams him, he'll eat an RKO. The three men argue until The Shield shows up on the Titantron, mocking and laughing at them.

Damien Sandow makes fun of Sheamus before the latter's match against Antonio Cesaro, saying Cesaro can speak five different languages while Sheamus can barely speak one. (Sheamus can actually speak both English and Irish Gaelic. Thanks.)

Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for June 13, 2013

Hulk Hogan enters the ring. He had to ask his daughter Brooke Hogan to stay home this week with all the drama with Aces and Eights that is going on. Also, it's time for the Bound For Glory series again. Three more men are in, with two more getting a free pass. The first is the one Hogan calls out: last year's winner Jeff Hardy, who is ready to win it all again and get the title this time around. Bobby Roode comes out and talks about how he was the longest-reigning TNA champion and how he's won the series before. Hulk Hogan sets it up so that the fans can vote for which man gets the first call-out on Open Fight Night next week. Roode promises to call out Hardy and kick his ass if he wins, but Hardy tells him "Kick my ass now!" Suddenly, Aces and Eights show up and Bully Ray says he'll come out on top no matter who wins the BFG series. He also asks why none of his clubmates are in BFG, and Hulk Hogan says there's one spot for them...but they'll all have to face each other in a battle royal to get it. Bully Ray is not amused, and deems Roode and Hardy targets. Aces and Eights go after them, but Roode and Hardy clean house. Roode then gets a cheap shot on Hardy and flees.

Kaitlyn beats up AJ, who then skips back to the back.

Stephanie McMahon wants both Vince McMahon and Triple H in his office, and he tricks them both into meeting face-to-face to do it.

He gives Trips the match, but Triple H sees it his way and doesn't want it. Vince insists. Are we gonna see this or not?

The lumberjacks have surrounded the ring, and John Cena enters the ring. Ryback, however, backs up to the top of the entrance ramp. This does not prove popular with the WWE Universe. Vince McMahon shows up and stands by Stephanie, asking the WWE Universe not to boo her before repeating her decision as if to make it final. The crowd still wants Triple H, and Vince has to remind them this is family entertainment, not blood sport, and uses Kofi Kingston vs. Ryback from last week as an example. He says that while Curtis Axel is beneath Triple H (like Steph before him), he then says the fans are beneath Triple H as well. As Sting fights Bully Ray, Brook Hogan shows concern for Bully...but why?

Later in the match, Bully Ray grabs a knife andc cuts the apron, dismantling the ring as the crowd chants "ECW!" Sting still kicks out of a second piledriver, and is able to fight back. Just when he has the match won, the rest of Aces and Eights show up and attack Sting. Sting is able to fight back again, and when Devon throws the chain into the ring, Sting catches it and uses it against Bully Ray.
