The Miz shows up and confronts John Cena for pandering to the audience before telling him he sucks as a host. He also chews out Cena for making himself the special guest referee and playing a merman in the new Barbie movie. Cena admits that while he does not like him, he has a lot of respect for him, and asks him for more advice. Miz tells Cena that he has to be more involved, as he was in two matches at WrestleMania. He also says Cena should be in a $10,000 suit, dressing the role. He also says that Cena should take charge, and Cena mentions being special guest referee for his match. He mentions that he saw a wrong that needed to be righted on SmackDown recently, and hopes he does not regret this decision. He then welcomes "Main Event" Jey Uso to the Raw roster. Charly Caruso interviews Sheamus and Cesaro in the Social Media Lounge. Cesaro says their main strategy in tonight's tag team match is winning, and Sheamus says they don't really have a plan and are simply going out there to do whatever they need to do. Cesaro says they have something to prove against The Hardys, while Sheamus says they have nothing to prove as they are the best. When asked who is the better athlete of the two, Cesaro refuses to answer due to the question possibly causing dissent between them, but Sheamus says he's the better athlete, anyway. Cesaro settles it by saying they're the two best athletes in WWE.

It's time for Miz TV, with hosts The Miz and Maryse and special guest Finn Balor. After The Miz complains about Balor's entrance and asks what it is, Balor simply says "This is Balor Club!" The Balor Club doesn't really want The Miz and Maryse in their ranks, however, when Miz asks how to join. After this, The Miz says that Balor showed so much promise when he entered the main roster, as he became champion wherever he went and was a first-round pick in last year's WWE Draft. When asked if he feels like a failure after how last year panned out, and Balor reminds him that he won the Universal Championship while heavily injured. Miz then calls Balor and the Balor Club "failures," and says that while Balor was rehabbing his shoulder for eight months, Miz was ruling the roost on SmackDown Live. When asked what's Finn Balor says he will take the Universal title back. Miz reminds him the Universal champ is Brock Lesnar, but Balor says he's fought bigger men all his life. He then threatens to kick Miz's ass, saying there's two clubs for him to join: the Balor Club and the "Finn Balor Just Kicked My Ass" Club. Miz uses Maryse as a shield, and Balor says Miz TV usually ends with Miz getting his ass kicked, but tonight, Miz isn't worth it. Balor is about to leave when The Miz stops him, wanting a piece of him. This quickly comes to an end when Balor hits Miz with a Sling Blade.

The Hardys (Jeff and Matt Hardy) retain the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships against Sheamus and Cesaro. During the match, Sheamus kicks Jeff Hardy in the mouth so hard that one of his teeth legitimately flies out. Both teams shake hands and show respect after the match, then Sheamus and Cesaro turn around and blindside The Hardys.

Braun Strowman says Roman Reigns showed up looking for the big fight, but what he found was the biggest mistake of his life. When Braun is done with him, the only thing Roman will be looking for is for Braun to put him out of his misery.

Alexa Bliss beats Bayley with a DDT after Bayley is sent head-first into the ring post after a kick-out from a Sunset Flip Powerbomb counter to become the WWE Raw Womens's Champion! With this victory, Alexa Bliss becomes the first Superstar to win both the Raw and SmackDown Women's titles.

Randy Orton heads to Bray Wyatt's house of horrors for the House of Horrors in a limousine. The fight between Orton and Wyatt ends with Wyatt dumping a refrigerator on top of Orton in the kitchen. Wyatt slowly ambles out of the house and gets in the limo, and asks the driver to take him to the arena.

Seth Rollins beats Samoa Joe by rolling Joe onto his back during the Coaquina Clutch.

Bray Wyatt returns to the arena and makes his way to the ring. When the lights come back on, Randy Orton can be seen behind him with a steel chair, and their match continues.

Bray Wyatt beats Randy Orton in a House of Horrors Match after interference by The Singh Brothers (formerly The Bollywood Boyz, Harv and Gurv Sihra) and two blasts to the back of the head with the absconded WWE Championship by Jinder Mahal.

Braun Strowman beats Roman Reigns. After the match, Braun Strowman tosses some steel steps into the ring, and referees try in vain to convince Strowman not to continue the assault as Strowman tosses Roman into the steps so hard that the side of the steps are dented, then rams the steps into Roman's ribs. Strowman then leaves, and Roman is seen bleeding from his mouth. Referees and officials have to help Roman to the back. A stretcher is brought out, but Roman doesn't want to get on and wants to leave under his own power.

During Raw Talk, Roman Reigns is seen coughing up more blood backstage, and is heard wheezing as he is brought onto an ambulance. Braun Strowman tries to take out Roman again, but Roman miraculously dodges Braun, who destroys one of the doors to the back of the ambulance and runs into a stack of empty boxes. Braun heads back towards the ambulance, but Roman smashes the other back door of the ambulance into Braun. Braun runs away after this.

My predictions for WWE Payback 2017

Enzo Amore and Big Cass vs. Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson)

These two teams have been going at it for a while now. The Raw before Payback, however, saw Gallows & Anderson attack Enzo and Cass from the crowd and laid Enzo out. Now these two will go at it, probably for the last time...for a while, at least.

My prediction: Enzo and Cass will probably win this one.

Chris Jericho vs. Kevin Owens (c)

for the WWE United States Championship; if Jericho wins, he will be transferred to SmackDown Live

Jericho is getting his rematch against his former bestie Owens for the United States title...and it could be the last time we see these two go up against each other as well the last time we see Jericho in the ring for a while...

My prediction: Owens will retain.

Sheamus and Cesaro vs. The Hardy Boyz (Jeff and Matt Hardy) (c)

for the WWE Raw Tag Team Championships

After returning for the first time in about seven years, The Hardys are tag team champs and they are defending the Raw tag titles for the first time. Now Sheamus and Cesaro have a shot at the titles that they could have won at WrestleMania...

My prediction: The Hardys will probably retain.

Randy Orton vs. Bray Wyatt

in a House of Horrors Match

The feud between Randy Orton and Bray Wyatt that has been going on since the beginning of the year finally comes to a head in a House of Horrors Match. What a House of Horrors Match actually is, we don't know, but this definitely won't be a typical wrestling match. This will be a war. If only it was for the WWE Championship...

My prediction: Randy Orton will probably win this one and close the book on this rivarly...for now...

Austin Aries vs. Neville (c)

for the WWE Cruiserweight Championship

Here it is again. Austin Aries has another shot at Neville and the Cruiserweight title thanks to a Fatal 4-Way win that deemed him the #1 contender. Will Neville conquer a second time, or will Austin rise about Neville's level to the A-Double Level?

My prediction: Aries is taking the title. For real this time.

Roman Reigns vs. Braun Strowman

Well, we knew this was going to happen, especially after Strowman tipped the ambulance Roman was in to its side with his bare hands. Who is going to win between these two powerhouses?

My prediction: If I had to pick a definite winner...Roman. But I see this ending in a no-contest, too. But in case of a definite winner...I'll go with Roman.

Seth Rollins vs. Samoa Joe

Just when Seth Rollins has put Triple H behind him with a win in a non-sanctioned match at WrestleMania, here comes Samoa Joe wanting revenge for his "benefactor." Joe is finally getting some real action on the main roster at Payback, while Rollins is trying to rise back to the top...

My prediction: Something tells me Joe might win this one.

Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley (c)

for the WWE Raw Women's Championship

Well, it was bound to happen eventually now that Alexa Bliss is on the red brand thanks to the Superstar Shake-Up. After two title reigns on the blue brand, Alexa is going for her first title reign on Raw. Her main obstacle to doing just that? Bayley...and she's not going to give up the title easily...

My prediction: Bayley will probably retain.

Kevin Owens beats Sami Zayn. During the match, it is learned that Enzo Amore is able to speak and move his extremities after being moved to a local medical facility. After the match, Kevin Owens forces Byron Saxton to interview him about his victory over Zayn. When Saxton asks if the war between him and Sami Zayn is over, Owens says that's not what he asked, and declares he's the better man anyway. He now says he can focus on getting the WWE Intercontinental Championship back. When he finds out The Miz vs. Cesaro for the Intercontinental Championship is the next match, he guests on commentary for the match.

The Miz retains the WWE Intercontinental Championship against Cesaro after grabbing the tights during a roll-up, after Cesaro is distracted by Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn, who brawl afterSami Zayn takes out Owens on commentary. Charlotte retains the WWE Women's Championship againast Natalya with the Sharpshooter...even though Natalya never taps out. Bret Hart punches out Ric Flair, and Natalya takes down Charlotte. Both uncle and niece execute the Sharpshooter on their respective opponents.

Vince McMahon shows up. After talking about the evolution of Raw, he hopes that his choice is an ethical person with great business acumen. He introduces his daughter Stephanie McMahon first, and she says that she would rather be feared and respected than felt sorry for. She runs down what she and Triple H have done as The Authority, then verbally craps on Shane in an effort to deem her brother Shane McMahon unfit to run Raw. Shane shows up as Stephanie is finished speaking. Shane shows some internet headlines proving that he is the better choice...and that Stephanie and Triple H can't claim such. He also says that while Vince can be credited for the WWE Network, the jump in Network subs can be credited to him. However, he says that under Stephanie and Triple H, the fans were not being heard, and that he returned because of that. After hearing what both have to say, Vince says he listens to himself at the end of the day, and it's all about what he wants. He wants his children to either collaborate with or turn against each other. Both Shane and Stephanie control Raw. Shane extends his hand, and Stephanie shakes it.

Enzo Amore is reported to have a concussion, though all other tests have come back negative.

AJ Styles beats Roman Reigns by count-out after a Phenomenal Forearm on Roman Reigns into an announce table. After the match, however, Shane McMahon shows up and restarts the match with no count-outs.

AJ Styles beats Roman Reigns by disqualification when Roman Reigns accidentally hits AJ Styles with a low blow as Styles comes off the top rope. Stephanie McMahon shows up and makes the match no-disqualification.

Roman Reigns retains the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against AJ Styles after involvement from both the team of Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso). After the match, Vince McMahon talks with both Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon. Both of them agree with Vince that AJ Styles should have a rematch for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Stephanie says it should be at Extreme Rules, and Shane says that it should be an Extreme Rules Match. Vince makes it so, and Stephanie tells Shane that she respects his decision.

My predictions for WWE Payback 2016

AJ Styles vs. Roman Reigns (c)

for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

AJ Styles has had a meteoric rise to the top since his debut at the Royal Rumble this year. After teaming with - and feuding against - Chris Jericho, AJ Styles has earned a shot at the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Will Styles take one of the most prestigious prizes in wrestling history and the most prestigious title in the WWE?

My prediction: Roman Reigns will probably retain.

Cesaro vs. The Miz (c)

for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

The Miz has taken the WWE Intercontinental Championship from Zack Ryder 24 hours after WrestleMania to begin his fifth Intercontinental reign...and now his wife, Maryse, has returned to WWE for the first time in years to make it happen. Now Cesaro has earned a shot at The Miz's title...can Cesaro give Miz less than a Hollywood ending?

My prediction: Cesaro will take the title.

Ryback vs. Kalisto (c)

for the WWE United States Championship

Yep, it's the rematch. It hasn't been built up, but build-up was hardly necessary. We all knew this match was coming.

My prediction: Kalisto will retain.

Dean Ambrose vs. Chris Jericho

Finally, it's happening so many months after Night of Champions...which isn't even mentioned in this feud. Well, that's weird.

My prediction: Dean Ambrose will probably win this one.

Kevin Owens vs. Sami Zayn

Well, they couldn't stand each other in NXT, and now they can't stand each other on the main roster either. Now they finally face each other on a main roster pay-per-view. How's this one going to pan out?

My prediction: Kevin Owens will probably win this one.

Natalya vs. Charlotte (c)

for the WWE Women's Championship

After Charlotte's arrogance took center stage the night after WrestleMania, the rest of the women's division walked out on her...and Natalya had finally had enough. It's now a battle against two wrestling dynasties at Payback. Who will win?

My prediction: Natalya will probably win this one and take the title.

Enzo Amore and Colin Cassady
vs.
The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch)

The winner of this match will take on The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) for the WWE Tag Team Championships.

NXT is slowly taking over as The Vaudevillains take on the team of Enzo and Cass in the finals of the #1 Contenders' Tag Team Tournament. Who will go on to face The New Day?

My prediction: The Vaudevillains will probably win this one.

Baron Corbin vs. Dolph Ziggler

Because Baron Corbin has to start his post-Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal career on the main roster somewhere.

My prediction: Corbin will win this one.

There will be a match for the vacant WWE Intercontinental Championship at Elimination Chamber in two weeks on the WWE Network.

Eden Stiles interviews The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella). Brie breaks down slightly when she says that Daniel Bryan is trying with all his power to get back into action, and Nikki says that Tamina and Naomi are going to find out tonight that she and Brie are real family.

R-Truth beats Stardust when Stardust takes his glove off and slaps Truth with it.

The Ascension (Konnor and Viktor) beat The Meta Powers (Curtis Axel and Macho Mandow).

Sheamus beats Dolph Ziggler after Ziggler busts his head open after headbutting Sheamus.

Kane and Seth Rollins meet backstage. Rollins wants Kane to work together with him tonight, but Kane reminds him that if he loses, Kane wins big. Kane hasn't decided what to do yet, but says Rollins will be the first to know. Rollins says he plans to retain tonight, and when J&J Security (Joey Mercury and Jamie Noble) get in Kane's face, Kane just simply laughs it off.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) make fun of Adam Jones and his baseball team, the Baltimore Orioles, as they ask everyone to embrace the power of positivity.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) retain the WWE Tag Team Championships in a 2-out-of-3 Falls Match against Tyson Kidd and Cesaro, when Xavier Woods gets an inside cradle on Tyson Kidd. With the ref thinking it's Kofi, The New Day get the third fall and win 2-1.

Byron Saxton interviews Ryback. Ryback doesn't know what to expect, but he knows that Bray Wyatt messed with the wrong man.

Bray Wyatt beats Ryback after ramming Ryback and his injured ribs into an exposed turnbuckle.

John Cena retains the WWE United States Championship against Rusev in a devastating I Quit Match. Lana has to translate for Rusev to tell the ref that Rusev says that he quits.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) say they do not spit, curse or complain as they have a milk toast to their victory tonight. But when Byron Saxton tells them they will defend the WWE Tag Team Championships in the first ever Tag Team Elimination Chamber Match in two weeks' time at Elimination Chamber, they actually spit their milk out, curse and complain.

Naomi and Tamina beat The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella).

Rusev tells Lana to get out backstage before he throws a steel chair around.

Neville beats King Barrett by count-out. At first, Barrett walks away on purpose, but after Neville is declared the winner, he rushes back and attacks Neville again. When Barrett celebrates, however, Neville fights back, suplexing him and breaking his scepter before hitting the Red Arrow.

We see some more Tough Enough application videos.

Seth Rollins retains the WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Dean Ambrose, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton. During the match, Kane sides with Seth Rollins and Rollins hits the Pedigree on Randy Orton to retain the title. Triple H congratulates Seth Rollins and lifts his hand in victory after the match.

My predictions for WWE Payback 2015

Curtis Axel and Damien Sandow vs. The Ascension

It started as a match between AxelMania and Macho (Mandow) Madness...but The Ascension just had to interfere and talk crap with their anti-Legend shtick. That backfired for them, because now Axel and Sandow have just become The Meta Powers, and they're coming for The Ascension.

My prediction: The Meta Powers will explode...and win this match.

Rusev vs. John Cena (c)
in an "I Quit" Match for the WWE United States Championship

Right on the heels of the Russian Chain match at Extreme Rules, Rusev and Lana made a rubber match between Rusev and Cena for the United States Championship...and this time it's an I Quit Match, a match type which Cena has a history of prevailing in every time. Can Rusev break that streak and reclaim what he considers his?

My prediction: Cena's winning a third time. Watch.

Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns vs. Dean Ambrose vs. Seth Rollins (c)
in a Triple Threat Match for the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

It all started with Randy Orton and Roman Reigns wanting a title shot. Kane made it so while Triple H and Stephanie McMahon were away, much to the chagrin of Seth Rollins. The thing is, Seth Rollins kept trading insults with Kane to the point that Kane threatened to make it a Fatal Four-Way with Dean Ambrose thrown into the mix after Rollins kept complaining about the matches he was put in...and he did. Now that Triple H is back, Kane's role as Director of Operations is on the line, and if Rollins fails to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, his services will no longer be needed. Not only that, but it's pretty clear that Ambrose and Reigns are putting their brotherhood aside and showing no mercy towards Rollins...and each other. How is this gonna end?

My prediction: Rollins is going to retain somehow.

King Barrett vs. Neville

The newly-crowned King of the Ring has a rematch against the man he kept from that title. Will the Bull Hammer ride again, or will the Red Arrow hit its mark?

My prediction: Barrett will probably win this one.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Sheamus

Well, we saw this coming when Sheamus refuses to kiss Ziggler's ass and instead reversed the roles...by force. With Ziggler ruining everything for Sheamus and vice versa, is it possible that Sheamus has missed with the wrong (little) guy?

My prediction: Ziggler will get another win on Sheamus.

Tyson Kidd and Cesaro
vs.
The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) (c)
for the WWE Tag Team Championships in a Two-out-of-Three Falls Match

Well, at least Cesaro has experience with this in the form of a wicked match against Sami Zayn at NXT: ArRival. But this is a tag team match we're talking about this time, and just about anything can happen!

My prediction: The New Day will retain.

Ryback vs. Bray Wyatt

After WrestleMania 31, it appeared that Bray Wyatt wanted to get his win back from The Undertaker. For weeks, we had no idea who he was talking to. After Extreme Rules, we found out who that person was: Ryback. But Ryback is made of tough stuff. Hopefully Bray won't get to him...right?

My prediction: Bray Wyatt will probably win this one.

Naomi and Tamina vs. The Bella Twins (Brie and Nikki Bella)

Naomi is tired of making absolutely no headway in the Divas Division, and has now stopped being Ms. Nice Lady in favor of bringing out an aggressive streak and taking what she wants! Meanwhile, Tamina is finally back after being injured for about a year, and they're now teaming up to get what they want...and what they want also includes taking down The Bella Twins!

My predictions: The Bellas will probably win this one.

Kane attacks Kofi Kingston before he takes on Bo Dallas. After Kofi gets a Tombstone Piledriver, Bo tells Kofi to Bolieve.

After some conversation (and Brie calling Stephanie a bitch), Daniel Bryan nearly gives up the belt, but Brie stops the proceedings. My predictions for WWE Payback 2014

El Torito vs. Hornswoggle
in a Mask vs. Hair Match

Well, it came down to this, didn't it? These guys go at it on the kick-off again, but this time we have stuff on the line: Hornswoggle's hair and El Torito's mask. It's a Lucha de Apuestas match of hilarious match if last month's WeeLC Match was any indication, and one of these two things must go!

My prediction: El Torito's keeping the mask. Sorry, 'Swoggle.

Evolution (Triple H, Randy Orton, Batista)
vs. The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins, Roman Reigns)
in a No Holds Barred Elimination Match

The Shield won Round One at Extreme Rules...but can they pull it off again, even if Evolution were to narrow down their numbers with both no-DQ and elimination tag rules>

My prediction: Hoping The Shield pull a repeat performance.

John Cena vs. Bray Wyatt
in a Last Man Standing Match

Cena and Wyatt have dishing punishment at each other at both WrestleMania 30 and Extreme Rules. Both men have gotten a win on each other...but how will this all end?

My prediction: John Cena will win the rubber match.

Bad News Barrett (c) vs Rob Van Dam
for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Thanks to a Beat The Clock challenge, Rob Van Dam has a shot at the Intercontinental title. Not bad for someone who has just returned. But Bad News Barrett has just won the title last month, and he won't let go of it easily.

My prediction: Bad News Barrett will retain.

Sheamus vs. Cesaro
for the WWE United States Championship

Well, it was bound to happen, wasn't it? Since Cesaro doesn't want to shake Sheamus' hand (unless he's laid out), it was only natural for a US title defense, even if this has been going on for less than two weeks.

My prediction: Cesaro will win the United States title.

Paige (c) vs. Alicia Fox
for the WWE Divas Championship

After her crazy meltdowns from the last few weeks, Alicia Fox has finally gotten noticed...as well as a title shot against Paige herself! But will that be enough for Alicia Fox to dominate and become Divas champ again for the first time in basically forever?

My prediction: Paige will probably retain.

Big E vs. Rusev

Rusev may have met his match in the form of Big E after trying to attack "Hacksaw" Jim Duggan...or has he?

My prediction: Rusev might win this one, but he'll have to put in more of an effort to do it.

Will Daniel Bryan personally surrender the WWE World Heavyweight Championship...or will Brie Bella be fired for putting her hands on Stephanie McMahon?

My prediction: Daniel Bryan, as much as he doesn't want to (and as much as we don't want to see it), will reluctantly personally surrender the title to Stephanie McMahon at Payback to save his wife Brie's job. I also smell a ladder match for the title at the upcoming Money In The Bank as a result. But who knows what will happen?

WWE Payback 2013 - The Recap

Sheamus beats Damien Sandow in the kick-off.

Curtis Axel beats The Miz and Wade Barrett in a Triple Threat Match to win the WWE Intercontinental Championship! The Miz may have locked the Figure Four Leg Lock on Barrett, but Axel pins Barrett before he can tap out,

Paul Heyman and Curtis Axel meet Triple H, who gets in Axel's face. Vince McMahon shows up and congratulates both Axel and Heyman, who then leave. Vince still tries to push Triple H vs Axel for Monday night, but Triple H still doesn't want it.

AJ Lee beats Kaitlyn by hitting her with her belt behind the ref's back, then locking in the Black Widow to win the WWE Divas Championship! Kaitlyn breaks down in the middle of the entrance ramp, and Layla has to console her on her way out.

Natalya and Alicia Fox console Kaitlyn in the back.

Dean Ambrose retains the WWE United States Championship against Kane by count-out.

Rob Van Dam returns at Money In The Bank next month! Welcome back!

Alberto Del Rio viciously destroys Dolph Ziggler to win the WWE World Heavyweight Championship! Ziggler cannot even leave the ring under his own power.

My predictions for WWE Payback

Another pay-per-view, another predictions blog entry. Let's do this.

Kick-off

Sheamus vs. Damien Sandow

They're calling the pre-show the "kick-off" now. I guess "pre-show" just didn't have good connotations to it anymore. Regardless of whatever it's called, this match is in the perfect slot to put Sheamus in a feud just because while Damien Sandow trudges around in the mid-card yet again. Give one of these guys a title shot already, sheesh.

Winner: Sheamus. They're just going to make him the super-warrior they always do in WWE.

Three Stages of Hell Match
for the WWE Championship

John Cena vs. Ryback

Extreme Rules could have been the place and time to end all this, but it ended in controversy instead. Ryback challenged Cena to an ambulance match, but Cena one-upped it all with a Three Stages of Hell match.

The first match will be a Lumberjack match. The second will be a Tables match. If both men are tied after the Tables match, the third stage will be the Ambulance match Ryback is clamoring for. There will be ambulances. Trust me.

Winner: Ryback. He had Cena where he wanted him last time. He can do it again. If the belt is to go around his waist, now would be the best time.

Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk

CM Punk finally returns to in-ring action for the first time in two months in front of a healthy Chicago crowd...and who better to do it with than Chris Jericho, who asked for this match directly from Paul Heyman to see who is truly "Best In The World."

Winner: CM Punk. I like both guys...honest! But CM Punk will be better than he was before the wear and tear on his knee that he finally had to fix. He needed the break after six years of breaking every rung on the wooden ladder he climbed to the top on. Now he needs the win to re-assert himself.

Triple Threat Match
for the WWE Intercontinental Championship

Wade Barrett vs. The Miz vs. Curtis Axel

No Fandango? Blame a concussion he suffered in the last few weeks on SmackDown for his absence here. It was then going to be just Barrett and Miz, but then Paul Heyman showed up to say that his newest client Curtis Axel is now in the running as per Vickie Guerrero. Michael McGillicutty, we hardly knew ye.

Winner: Curtis Axel. Barrett's done nothing but lose, and while I'd like to see Miz win, WWE has the perfect opportunity to push Axel to superstardom and give him the belt his father "Mr. Perfect" Curt Hennig made famous. Axel it is.

For the WWE Tag Team Championships

The Shield (Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns)
vs.
Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan

You were expecting D-Bry and Kane? Sorry, but Vicki Guerrero gave it to D-Bry and Orton for beating The Shield on SmackDown...by disqualification. Meanwhile, Kane has to face Dean Ambrose for the United States title, which I'll go over later. The three men beat The Shield in six-man action on the SmackDown before Payback. Can they keep this going? We'll see.

Winner: The Shield. This will be a fun mach to look forward to, if you like Daniel Bryan. The Shield will get this one by hook or by crook somehow, even if it means having to bend the rules.

For the WWE United States Championship

Dean Ambrose vs. Kane

See the last match I mentioned. That pretty much sums this up.

Winner: Dean Ambrose. He's too over. While winning this could put Kane in the "all current belts" club with Big Show, it wouldn't make much sense to end Ambrose's reign as US champ so soon.

For the WWE Divas Championship

Kaitlyn vs. AJ Lee

Finally, finally, finally. The match we've been wanting to see ever since The Chickbusters broke up in 2012 and starting going at each other's throats due to AJ going cuckoo and having a screwed-up love life. We've had it before, but at least they'll do it right this time (I hope).

Oh, and the "secret admirer" going for Kaitlyn's affection was Big E Langston, who in turn was doing this with AJ Lee to play mind games with Kaitlyn, causing her to smack a referee and get fined $10,000. SWERVE!

Winner: AJ Lee. They've done nothing with Kaitlyn since she won it from the departing Eve Torres (besides this). Meanwhile, everyone wants AJ to have the belt. Let her have it. Let her eat cake.

For the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Dolph Ziggler vs. Alberto Del Rio

The stage is focused firmly on Ziggler and Del Rio, now that Swagger is suspended for 30 days following the pre-WrestleMania weed bust down in Mississippi, explaining the lack of Zeb Colter-ing on WWE programming while I save enquiring minds 99 cents on a psychic hotline (or an enormous four-figure tab on 1-900-909-9900, take your pick).

Winner: Ziggler. He hasn't even defended it once. Why end it now?

And there you have it...my predictions for Payback! Whaddya think?
