After Dark Elevation - AEW Dark Elevation recap for July 12, 2021

Thunder Rosa beats Dreamgirl Ellie with the Peruvian Callovera Choke.

Before the next match, Matt Hardy tells The Hardy Family Office that he has not seen a bigger loser than Fuego del Sol, and says that Fuego wears a mask because he cannot look himself in the mirror in the morning. He says that Fuego del Sol will not earn an AEW contract, for he has deleted that idea and he will be and 3-0 this week when he beats Christian Cage.

Matt Hardy beats Fuego del Sol with The Leech.

Riho beats Amber Nova.

We hear from "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes and "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson. Rhodes is impressed by Jungle Boy's 50 wins, then says Lee Johnson is the future of AEW. Lee Johnson calls his match tonight the biggest opportunity of his life, and Dustin Rhodes wants to see what Jungle Boy has, as Lee Johnson is going to bring it to him.

Powerhouse Hobbs beats Baron Black.

Yuka Sakazaki beats KiLynn King.

The Gunn Club (Billy and Colten Gunn) and The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) beat The Acclaimed ("Platinum" Max Caster and Anthony Bowens) and Chaos Project (Luther and Serpentico) in an eight-man tag team match. After the match, ANthony Bowens says that The Acclaimed want a shot at the AEW World Tag Team Championships and that The Varsity Blonds are in their way in the rankings in second place while they are in third. Bowens says that The Varsity Blonds can can either fight them or they can leave the ring and "Eiffel Tower [their] little cheerleader friend under the bleachers." The Varsity Blonds then chase The Acclaimed out of the ring.

"The Machine" Brian Cage beats Alan "5" Angels.

Backstage, Jungle Boy announces that he is the first AEW wrestler to win 50 matches, and while he is facing "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson tonight, he is already looking for the next record to break.

Leyla Hirsch beats Kelsey Heather with the Cross Arm Breaker. (Kelsey Heather would be one of the women in MVP and Bobby Lashley's entourage on WWE Raw in the same night.)

"All Ego" Ethan Page guests on commentary for the next match.

Scorpio Sky beats "The Captain" Shawn Dean.

We hear from Mark Sterling and Jade Cargill. Sterling states that he and Cargill have been looking at opportunities and have taken advantage of a clause in Cargill's contract, which allows Cargill to do anything related to modeling, films and television among other opportunities. He says that Cargill is needed elsewhere and they he and Cargill will be heading to Hollywood and meeting with some agents to ensure Jade Cargill dominates all media and becomes the next great crossover star she is destined to be. Sterling also assures that Jade Cargill is still focused on wrestling. Jade Cargill then announces that she is heading to Hollywood, where all her dreams will come true. She says she has blessed the fans for too long and are heading elsewhere, and says that the fans cannot wait to see what she does next and that they will sit at home and watch her crush it.

Tay Conti beats Labrava.

Jungle Boy beats "Big Shotty" Lee Johnson following a series of pinfall attempts.

We hear from Miro, who cals himself "The Reedemer". He says the TNT Championship is not just leather gold but also his divine right to be great. He also says the title has made him different, and that he will change the title like it changed him.

Red Velvet beats Leila Grey.

We hear from Jora Johl. He says he has been thinking about Matt Hardy's offer, and that he accepts his offer because it is the route to his dreams as well as the dreams of hundreds of thousands of children in India, as he needs to be their role model as they achieve their own deams. He says that tonight is his first test from Matt Hardy, and that his dreams are now dreams fulfilled.

Best Friends (Chuck Taylor and Orange Cassidy) and Wheeler Yuta beat Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) and Jora Johl following miscommunication between Isiah Kassidy and Jora Johl. Before the match, Jora Jol reluctantly removes his jacket to reveal a Milwaukee Bucks jersey underneath.

Hikaru Shida beats Julia Hart with the Full Metal Muffler.

Darby Allin beats Angelico. After the match, Matt Hardy and Private Party (Marq Quen and Isiah Kassidy) confront Darby and Sting, but Christian Cage shows up to even the odds. Christian and Matt brawl to the back while Sting hits both members of Private Party with the Stinger Splash. After this, The Men of hte Year (Scorpio Sky and "All Ego" Ethan Page) stare down Darby Allin from the stage. Afterwards, Sting says it is great to be back in Miami, Florida and that "AEW wins again." Darby tells Ethan Page that it will be a pleasure to close the coffin on him.
