Road Rager - Dynamite recap for July 7, 2021

"The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes beats a defiant QT Marshall in a South Beach Strap Match.

We hear from Shawn Spears, who gloats about hitting Sammy Guevara with a chair and says that Guevara's ego is his greatest hindrance. He soon has a chair thrown at him by Guevara, who tells him this is far from over.

Tony Schiavone interviews Kenny Omega and Don Callis in the ring. Don Callis grabs the microphone and tells Schiavone to go away before listing a who's who of whom Omega has successfully defended the AEW World Championship against as well as the many titles Omega currently holds, saying they hired an entourage to carry them all. Callis then says that he and Omega have a problem, and that they have run out of opponents for Omega to beat, leaving nobody to defend the AEW World Championship against at Fight For The Fallen as the fans chant for "Hangman" Adam Page. The Dark Order shows up, and Evil Uno asks Omega why he is ignoring the crowd and Adam Page, and asks why Omega is so afraid of Page. Omega says Evil Uno has a lot of questions, and asks him what the capitol of Thailand is before kicking him in the groin. The Dark Order then get attacked by The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) and MT Nakazawa. As Omega is about to lay out Evil Uno with the AEW World Championship, Adam Page runs into the ring and becomes a one-man army. When Omega is the only one left in the ring, he and Page have a staredown. Doc Gallows gets on the apron, but as Page punches him off, Omega retreats.

In footage from earlier today, Jim Ross moderates a face-to-face meeting between Ethan Page and Darby Allin. JR says he feels awkward hosting this meeting, as both of them will talk about ending the other's career. Allin says that Ethan Page could not stand the fact that it took him one year to get where Ethan got in twelve, and says that while life got in Ethan's way, he had to sacrifice everything to get to AEW. Ethan says that Darby Allin skipped the line and says he plucked him from obscurity, and brought him in and up in the business. He also says that Allin paints his face to hide the pain that he would be nothing without him. Ethan says he will take Allin out next week.

The Pinnacle (Dax Harwood, Cash Wheeler, Wardlow) beat The Inner Circle (Santana, Ortiz, Jake Hager) after Harwood and Wheeler stop Hager from putting an ankle lock on Wardlow, allowing Wardlow to hit Hager from behind so Harwood and Wheeler can hit the Big Rig. After the match, Konnan hits Wardlow in the back with a madball, but it has no effect and Tully Blanchard hits Konnan with a chop block. The Pinnacle runs away as Santana and Ortiz get back in the ring.

We see a video package previewing "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson vs. Jon Moxley for the IWGP United States Championship next week, where Anderson talks about his recent dealings with Moxley before he and "The Big LG" Doc Gallows state that next week, they will partake in their favorite pastime of beating up Jon Moxley.

MJF heads to the ring. After the commercial break, Chris Jericho heads to the ring so he and MJF can have a face-to-face meeting. A fan tries to jump the barricade, but Jericho beats him up and MJF dares another fan to do the same. MJF says he has beaten Jericho twice and yet Jericho still wants to fight him, but says that everyone wants "the MJF rub." Jericho says he should have let the fan from earlier beat him up, but he is Chris Jericho and he will not back down, and says he will go with any stipulation MJF may have, including having sex with MJF's mother. As the fans chant "Fuck his mom," Jericho says "Again." MJF says he will not be rattled, then says he used to be a big fan of Jericho's and followed every step of his career, and mentions Jericho's feud with Jon Moxley and what he put Jon Moxley through. MJF then says he is taking Jericho's blueprint and making it better, then mentions how the name "Jericho" comes from a Greek demigod and how he will put Jericho through "the five labors of Hercules." He says that he has five stipulations and states that by the fifth stipulation, Jericho will know that MJF is better than him. Jericho says if he can't get through the stipulations and cannot beat MJF, he does not deserve to be in AEW. Jericho then says he will accept his stipulations and beat them, and that this is no mythology. He signs the contract in front of him, but as he leaves, MJF says he comes from Plainview, Long Island New York - and not a "trash fire" like Miami, Florida - and says a deal is not done until both parties shake hands. After MJF demands he shake his hand, Jericho shakes it, but refuses to let go and pulls him into the Judas Effect.

Dan Lambert, Jorge Masvidal and Amanda Nunes of America's Top Team are seen in the crowd.

In footage from earlier today, Tony Schiavone interviews Dr. Britt Baker says that she was forced into a match that nobody wanted to see with Nyla Rose and Vickie Guerrero, yet still came out with another win. She then says that nevertheless, an innocent person - Rebel - got hurt while she almost going through a table, and says Tony Khan is to blame, making this match so that Andrade el Idol can show up. As she says that the only person who is soft around is Hikaru Shida, who will never hold the AEW Women's World Championship again and will be sent back down to obscurity into weeks, she tells Tony Khan to enjoy his blood money and says that maybe next time, Dynamite will take place in Saudi Arabia.

Andrade el Idolo beats Matt Sydal in his AEW debut. After the match, Andrade restrains one of Sydal's arms with a belt as he locks in a cross arm breaker, then lets go and threatens to whip the referee, who runs away.

We see a video package chronicling the feud between Christian Cage and Jeff Hardy.

Tony Schiavone interviews "The Enforcer" Arn Anderson in the ring. Anderson says it feels good to be in Miami, Florida tonight, and says that AEW have missed the fans. Before he can say much else, the arena goes dark, and when the lights come back on, Tommy End - formerly known as Aleister Black - is in the ring. He hits Anderson with Black Mass, and Cody Rhodes is in the ring. Tommy End eventually hits Cody Rhodes with the Black Mass, and it is revealed that Tommy End's new name is Malachi Black on commentary before he leaves.

In footage from earlier tonight, "Absolute" Ricky Starks heads to the ring with his own security guards, saying he is not medically cleared and cannot trust Brian Cage to not put his hands on an injured guy. Taz shows up and says Starks is embarrassing himself and does not need security, but says that Brian Cage is the embarrassment, that he will become FTW Champion and that the W in "FTW" stands for wife, as in Cage's wife. Cage then shows up and plows through security as Starks retreats.

Best Friends (Orange Cassidy and Kris Statlander) beat The Bunny and The Blade. Referee Audrey Edwards finds brass knuckles on The Blade before the match. Near the end of the match, The Blade produces another set as the referee is on the outside dealing with Orange Cassidy and The Bunny, and punches Orange with them as he goes for the Orange Punch. Before he can go for the pin, Statlander tags herself in, pushes The Bunny into The Blade and hits Big Bang Theory for the win.

In footage from earlier today, AEW officials award Jungle Boy with a trophy for being the first to win 50 matches in AEW, and there is a photo shoot to celebrate the occasion.

Tony Schiavone interviews Dan Lambert, Jorge Masvidal and Amanda Nunes of America's Top Team. Lambert says nobody in AEW told them anything about doing an interview and says he was skeptical about coming here because "AEW sucks." He thanks Tony Khan for the offer, then says he would rather watch wrestling from the 1970s and 1980s and listen to Gordon Solie call the action, as professional wrestling has gone downhill since the late 1990s and has become unwatchable. He says that Tony Khan told him he has been doing it the right and that they have provided a variety of performers with a fanbase full of hardcore fans, then says the lesson learned is "always trust your instincts." Lance Archer then shows up and hits Lambert with the Blackout as Jake "The Snake" Roberts directs traffic.

The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships against Eddie Kingston and Penta el Zero M in a Street Fight. During the match, Nick Jackson hits referee Rick Knox with a 450 splash on the top rope as Matt taps to a rear naked choke. The Good Brothers then show up and attack Kingston, but Penta takes them out with a dive over the top rope. Matt escapes Fear Factor and spears Kingston, and as Brandon Cutler tries to spray Penta with cold spray, Frankie Kazarian powerbombs him through a table. Penta hits Matt with Fear Factor, but referee Paul Turner gets in the ring to make the count only to be pulled out of the ring by Nick Jackson, who soon gets clotheslined by Kazarian. Kazarian is then hit with a Magic Killer on the outside by The Good Brothers, then Eddie Kingston pours a bag of tacks on the mat. Matt his Kingston with a tassel full of tacks, but Penta hits him with a trash can. Nick Jackson soon hits Penta with a hurricanrana into the tacks, but Penta kicks out as original referee Rick Knox makes the count. The Young Bucks then use the thumbtacks to their advantage against Eddie and Penta to get the win and retain the AEW World Tag Team Championships.
