After Dark - AEW Dark recap for July 6, 2021

Jake "The Snake" Roberts guests on commentary for the next match.

Lance Archer beats Ryan Mantell.

"Absolute" Ricky Starks guests on commentary for the next three matches.

The Factory (QT Marshall and Aaron Solow) beat The Hughes Brothers (Terrell and Terrence Hughes), then QT Marshall hits another Diamond Cutter after the match.

It's time for The Waiting Room. Tonight's guests are Sonny Kiss and "The Bad Boy" Joey Janela. Janela says it is an honor and privelege to be in Britt's presence and calls her "the best professional wrestler today." Janela then announces that Britt will give her the best smile in professional wrestling and the most succulent mouth on the East Coast. Britt Baker then focuses on the tiff going on between Janela and Sonny. Janela says he is feeling a certain kind of way, and that way is frustrated. When Janela wants a hug from Sonny, Sonny shoves Janela away and reminds him that it was him who helped Janela remember who "The Bad Boy" really was and accompanied him during high-profile matches, and that it was him who was getting his ass kicked while Janela was out at the club. Janela then says he cannot explain his behavior, then brings out someone who can: Alex Marvez. Marvez fails to show, then Janela finds out that Marvez is at the club. Sonny stops Janela, and Janela says he has nobody to blame but himself and does not want his "Bad Boy summer" to turn into a "sad boy summer" without Sonny, and wants Sonny to be there for him as much as he wants to be there for Sonny. Sonny tells Janela he has a choice: Janela can walk out the door while he turns his back, or he can stay and they can hug it out. Britt tries to tell Janela to leave, but Janela stops her and hands Sonny a pair of pink heart-shaped sunglasses. The two of them then hug it out, then leave. Meanwhile, Britt and Reba are secretly disappointed.

Abadon beats Natalia Markova.

Matt Sydal beats Carlie Bravo.

The Blade beats Tre Lamar after he takes his belt off, allowing The Bunny to slide in brass knuckles as the referee takes the belt away.

Bear Bronson beats "Big Trouble" Ben Bishop.

Fuego del Sol and Marko Stunt beat Baron Black and Ryzin. This victory gives Fuego del Sol his first win in AEW history, giving him a career record of 1-34. After the match, Sammy Guevara, Alan "5" Angels, Griff Garrison and "The Natural" Dustin Rhodes celebrate with Marko Stunt and Fuego del Sol.

Kris Statlander beats Viva Van.

The Varisty Blonds (Griff Garrison and Brian Pillman Jr.) beat CHad Lennex and Zachariah.

Angelico beats Prince Kai with the Navarro Death Roll. After the match, Angelico leaves - and bumps into Wheeler Yuta - as he dances even even after the music ends.

In the second upset win of the night, Wheeler Yuta beats "The Hollywood Hunk" Ryan Nemeth after Nemeth trips over him and Yuta hooks the right leg on the backslide pinfall attempt.

The Pinnacle (Shawn Spears and Wardlow) beats Hunter Knott and Rosario Grillo. After the match, referee Paul Turner has to stop Shawn Spears from getting back in the ring with a chair.

Tay Conti beats KiLynn King.

Backstage, Dasha Gonzalez interviews The Varsity Blonds (Griff Garrison, Brian Pillman Jr., Julia Hart). Brian Pillman Jr. is training some fine athletes, but they stepped into the ring with the starting team and bit off a little more than they can chew. Griff Garrison says they will stay consistent and keep going until they have the AEW World Tag Team Championships around their waists.

The Dark Order (Colt Cabana, Preston "10" Vance, Alan "5" Angels, Alex "3" Reynolds) beat Will Allday, Jason Hotch, Chandler Hopkins and Dean Alexander in an eight-man tag team match.

Jack Evans beats Mike Sydal with a high bridge pin.

Red Velvet beats Ashley Vox.

Penta el Zero Miedo and Eddie Kingston beat Chaos Project (Luther and Serpentico).
