Generation NXT UK - NXT UK recap for July 1, 2021

Emilia McKenzie beats Isla Dawn. During the match, Isla Dawn touches Emilia's face and goes into a trance, which gives Emilia enough of a breather to recover and win the match.

Backstage, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang celebrate their recent wins, then Mark Coffey gets an idea.

Tyler Bate retains the NXT UK Heritage Cup against Jack Starz two falls to one (2-1) in a Heritage Cup Rules Match. Tyler Bate gets the first fall after rolling Jack Starz up with 2:21 (two minutes, twenty-one seconds) left in Round 2. Jack Starz gets the second fall after countering a La Magistral Cradle from Tyler Bate with 53 seconds left in Round 3. Tyler Bate gets the third and deciding fall with the Tyler Driver '97 with 1:39 (one minute, thirty-nine seconds) left in Round 4. After the match, Mark Coffey and Wolfgang congrulate Tyler Bate, then bops him in the mouth and runs away.

Backstage, Assistant to the General Manager Sid Scala meets with Pretty Deadly (Sam Stoker and Lewis Howley) as they do a photo shoot. Scala tells them they will defend the NXT UK Tag Team Championships against Subculture ("Flash" Morgan Webster and Mark Andrews) next week, but Pretty Deadly say that if anyone wants a shot at the titles, they will have to earn them. Scala mentions that Mark Andrews will get a singles match against Howley, and if Andrews wins, Subculture will get a shot at the NXT UK Tag Team Championships.

Meiko Satomura heads to the ring. She talks about beating Kay Lee Ray for the NXT UK Women's Championship, saying this makes her very happy and that NXT UK is now her home. Suddenly, Nina Samuels shows up for the first time in some time and congratulates Satomura for beating Kay Lee Ray, making NXT UK the place to be and becoming its women's champion. She then says that NXT UK "needs more Nina," as does Meiko Satomura, who she says needs a true megastar like her to put her on the map. Before Nina Samuels can say much else, she is attacked by Amale, who says that no one needs more Nina and that what the world needs is hope. She says she is sick of seeing the same girls every week and wants to take her opportunities, declaring herself Satomura's next challenger and saying she is not here to play games. Satomura forearms her, then tells her she has her match.

In backstage footage from after last week's show, Rampage Brown is met by Joe Coffey. The two of them laugh, then Joe Coffey leaves.

We hear from Blair Davenport, who says that she has wrestled all around the world and sacrificed everything, including friends and family, to get to where she is today. She says it should be no surprise that she is part of the best women's division in the world, then says she has arrived in NXT UK. (Blair Davenport is formerly known as Bea Priestley.)

Aoife Valkyrie beats Mila Smidt. During the match, Jinny is seen watching this match from the stage.

We hear from Kenny Williams, who says the most resilient creature in the animal kingdom is the cockroach, which he calls the personification of the scum of the earth. He says that Nathan Frazer wants to be the biggest star in NXT UK, but he will wipe himself out and all that will survive is the scum of the earth.

In backstage footage from earlier today, Eddie Dennis asks Trent Seven what it is like to always be the bridesmaid but never the bride, but Trent Seven reminds him of the time he beat him up. Eddie Dennis awkwardly walks away.

Next week: Eddie Dennis vs. Trent Seven!

Jordan Devlin beats A-Kid by submission after injuring A-Kid's knees on the ring steps and bending his right leg to an extreme degree. Medical staff have to check on A-Kid after the match.
