Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for July 8, 2021



Steve Maclin beats Suicide on the pre-show match.



Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Kenny Omega and Don Callis. Callis says that despite Sami Callihan's nature, tonight is a big night, and he hopes everyone will be here.

Jake Something beats Brian Myers. As per pre-match stipulation, Brian Myers must admit that Jake Something is a professional. After the match, Myers is about to say something when Sam Beale attacks Jake from behind. Matt Cardona shows up and makes the save for Jake, hitting Radio Silence on Beale as he forces Beale and Myers to retreat.



Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Deonna Purrazzo, who says that she became a two-time Knockouts Champion without Kimber Lee and Susan's help and has not seen Kimber and Susan do anything like she has done while they were on her side. She then best the Knockouts Championship that she will do this without their help forever.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Sami Callihan, who says that Gia Miller has caught her in a good mood and that there are nine days left before Kenny Omega has to get in the ring with him. Suddenly, a sheriff's deputy shows up with an arrest warrant for assault and battery against Don Callis, and when Callihan puts his hands on the deputy, a whole slew of policemen swarm and arrest Callihan, taking him out of the arena.

Deonna Purrazzo beats Lady Frost with the Fujiwara Arm Bar. After the match, Deonna thanks Lady Frost for answering her open challenge before calling her another building block in the "Age of the Virtuosa." As she says she does not need to know her opponent and can beat anybody, Gail Kim shows up. After the commercial break, Deonna Purrazzo considers it an honor to be in the ring with her and considers her an influence on who she is, but tells her to show respect and not interrupt her. Gail Kim says that she respects her and has been seeing her from backstage since she showed up in Impact, then announces that at Slammiversary, she will defend the Knockouts Championship against a mystery opponent. She then tells Deonna to get prepared, because it will be the fight of her life and that her life will change that night.



The Impact Plus Flashback Moment of the week is Angelina Love vs. Mickie James for the TNA Knockouts Championship at Slammiversary 2011.

At Swinger's Palace, Chris Sabin shows up only to find out that Johnny Swinger its taking care of important secretive business. Suddenly, he is attacked by Moose as he talks to the Swingerellas, and Moose tells Sabin he has him at Slammiversary.

Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Chris Bey, who says that he picked a side last week because he didn't like chances of winning the Impact X Division Championship with Shera and Madman Fulton around. Chris Bey says that he is on his own side and that everyone on it - who he is not friends with - just happened to be standing in it.

Before the next match, W. Morrissey accepts Eddie Edwards' challenge at Slammiversary, then says he will help Eddie prepare for his match by demonstrating exactly what will happen to him that night.

W. Morrissey beats Deontae Evans, Manny Smith and Jason Page in a 3-on-1 handicap match.



Backstage, Gia Miller interviews Don Callis, who sayas that Sami Callihan assaulted him (without mentioning Callihan) and says that it will take him a while to process this, even though Callihan is a hazard to himself to others. Callis says he has a family and does not take this lightly, and says he has provided footage to the production truck at the advice of his counselors. We then see footage of Callihan punching him as Callis reasons with him, even though we never see Callihan's face, which is also covered by a mask. Scott D'Amore then shows up and says they can still have a contract signing in the ring later, even though Callis says that Callihan will be going away for a long time.

Rosemary and Havok beat Susan and Kimber Lee to get a shot at the Knockouts Tag Team Championships at Slammiversary.



It's time for All About Me. Tonight's host is Jazz. Tennille Dashwood says she felt betrayed, as she has been looking for the perfect partner, and says that there was instant chemistry between her and Rachael Ellering. She then says that Jazz ruined everything for her, and Tennille tells her to walk away just like she did with her career. When Jazz confronts her, Tennille tells her to chill, then runs her into the camera.

In footage from during the break, Rachael Ellering and Jordynne Grace show up as medical staff check up on Jazz, and help Jazz up. Afterwards, Rachael Ellering tells Tennille and Kaleb that they should be lucky Jazz is okay, and calls them garbage for messing with them as well as her. Jordynne says she and Rachael are back on the same page, and says that Tennille and Kaleb are the first thing that they will cross off their list of what they want to do as a team next week.

Rich Swann and Willie Mack head to the ring. Swann says he and Willie are about being men and fighting straight up, then says there is a tag team that brought it upon themselves to get into their business and attack them from behind: Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner, Rhino). He and Willie then call out Violent By Design, with Swann telling them to come to the ring and bring the tag team titles with them so they can take them. Suddenly, Fallah Bahh and TJP show up. TJP says he sees two guys with a common enemy, saying that they are looking for Violent By Design and also have a score to settle, but that Willie Mack and Rich Swann will not leapfrog over them to get to the tag titles. Willie Mack says that he and Swann are still number one contenders even with Swann's injury, but Fallah Bahh says that Both teams come face to face with Violent By Design when The Good Brothers ("The Big LG" Doc Gallows and "Machine Gun" Karl Anderson) show up. Gallows says that they are still focused on the tag team titles and will be tag team champions again, regardless of who they face for them. has an expiration date. Tommy Dreamer then shows up and says that Scott D'Amore has wanted him to inform everyone that the tag team titles will be defended at Slammiversary in a four-way match between all teams in the ring. He then announces that there will be a four-way singles match between members of the four teams in the ring right now.

"Machine Gun" Karl Anderson beats Deaner, Rich Swann and TJP in a four-way match. After the match, The Good Brothers have a staredown with Violent By Design (Eric Young, Joe Doering, Deaner, Rhino) in the ring.



Backstage, Kimber Lee tells Susan she has a back-up plan. Father James Mitchell shows up and asks Susan to join him She does, then James Mitchell asks Kimber if she is sure she wants to do this. Kimber says this is her only chance left, and Mitchell says that just like a dog returns to its own vomit, a fool returns to his own folly. James Mitchell tells Kimber Lee he will see what he can do for her.

Scott D'Amore is in the ring. He says that when the night began, he did not expect Sami Callihan to be incarcerated. He says he has confidence that Sami will be in the ring at Slammiversary, even though he is not here tonight. D'Amore then welcomes Kenny Omega and Don Callis to the ring. Callis says that Callihan has been justifiably incarcerated and has eight strikes against him, and while Callihan is not here, he and Omega are. D'Amore says that things seem off and that Sami Callihan is not usually clandestine with his attacks, then has Kenny Omega sign the contract, which he does. Suddenly, the arena lights glitch out before going dark completely. We then find out that the attack on Sami Callihan has been faked, with the role of Sami being played by John E. Bravo. The lights go out again, and this time, the real Sami Callihan is in the ring. Callihan and Omega brawl, and Callihan hits Omega with a package piledriver before signing the contract, placing it on top of Omega, pretending to leave and then powerbombing Omega through a table.
