Raw Deal - Raw recap for April 29, 2019

Alexa Bliss shows up to start tonight's show with A Moment Of Bliss. She announces that Braun Strowman, Ricochet, Drew McIntyre and Baron Corbin will represent Raw in the men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match, and each man shows up as their names are announced. When Corbin shows up, he admits his list of accolades can be quite a mouthful, and says everyone will enjoy them when he becomes a two-time Money In The Bank winner. Ricochet proposes he also be called "a two-time loser." McIntyre says Ricochet has a point, especially after Corbin stole his victory last week and blew the opportunity given to him, and says he is sick and tired of outside forces screwing him out of a championship opportunity. As McIntyre says that the Money In The Bank ladder match will put the power back in his hands, he tells Ricochet to shut up and stick to high-flying or else he will drop him where he stands. Corbin says he will win the match, and McIntyre threatens to drop him where he stands. Corbin then starts talking again, but Strowman him to shut up and says that nobody has what it takes to stop him from winning. He then proposes that Corbin and McIntyre face him and Ricochet in a tag team match as a preview of what is to come, and says that they will get these hands right now.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat Gallows & Anderson (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). After the match, The Usos show some footage from earlier today where they videotape Dash Wilder shaving Scott Dawson's back. Dawson and Wilder soon show up and explain themselves, with Dawson saying they are men and that he cannot reach every hair on his back. Wilder says that Dawson has his back and that he has Dawson's, and this leads to The Usos making back-shaving jokes before Dawson and Wilder saying that they will come after them after their match tonight.

It's time for Miz TV. Tonight's guest is Bobby Lashley. After Miz states that he is rejuvenated after coming back to Raw and ready for new challenges and new guests, he brings out Lashley. Lashley states that he will only address the questions he wants to answer while referring to himself in the third person. After being told that some people think that he is not reaching his full potential, Lashley says he has been back for a year and already a two-time Intercontinental Champion before asking Miz what he has done lately. Miz says that the old him would have listed all of his accomplishments and that they would have been here all night, and says that he is an overachiever and did it all without a shred of Lashley's athletics. Lashley then brings up Miz's loss at WrestleMania and Shane McMahon punching Miz's father's face in the face, then says Miz's father thinks that Miz is worthless. Miz attacks Lashley, but Lashley immediately fights back. Miz ends up booting Lashley out of the ring and throwing chairs at him before daring him to go at it in the ring.

Bobby Lashley beats The Miz after Shane McMahon shows up and puts a picture of The Miz's dad on the TitanTron. After the match, Shane hits The Miz a few times, and when Miz fights back, Lashley pulls Miz off of Shane and hits him with a massive choke slam. Shane then proceeds to punch at a downed Miz before putting him in an arm breaker. Shane tells The Miz that it is a shame that he is unconscious and that he is the best in the world.

Alexa Bliss shows up for another edition of A Moment Of Bliss. This time, she announces that Natalya will represent Raw in the women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match. Natalya says she has never been Raw Women's Champion, but after that match, that will change. The next woman announced for the match is Dana Brooke, who says that she is tired of being told to wait her turn in line and plans to shoot straight to the top. She insists that Natalya is given every opportunity, but Natalya says she has earned her opportunities. The next person announced for the match is Naomi, who says she plans to become Raw Women's Champion after winning the SmackDown title twice, and says that whoever faces her after she gets the title will "get all this glow." Alexa asks everyone to stop arguing for once, saying that the fourth woman is waiting and praying to be in the match. She then announces that the fourth woman is her. Not surprisingly, the other three women are not thrilled. Alexa tells the other women to leave so she can get all the attention, but Naomi proposes she and Alexa have a match as a preview of things to come. Alexa's not in the mood due to not being dressed for the match and the shoes she is wearing not being hers, but after Naomi says Alexa isn't as good as she says she is, Alexa says it's on.

We see another edition of the Firefly Fun House, where Bray Wyatt is painting a picture. He talks about how painting is a good way to express yourself, and that when you express yourself, nobody can every truly hurt you. Suddenly, Rambling Rabbit shows up, and we get to see the picture of a house on fire. Abby shows up and says that this is no time for games, and Rambling Rabbit leaves before Bray apologizes for what he did, saying it is all in the past. Abby then tells Bray to keep it down while she is trying to get her beauty rest. After Bray says that Abby is a bit of a sociopath, it is revealed that "sociopath" is the word of the day, then another edition of the Firefly Fun House comes to an end.

Naomi beats Alexa Bliss after Alexa's constantly untied shoes come off.

Backstage, Charly Caruso interviews Rey Mysterio and Dominic. Rey states that it is not easy being him in a world of giants, even after letting everyone down at WrestleMania, but he always gets back up, and he is looking ahead to Samoa Joe.

Charly Caruso interviews Becky Lynch in the ring. Becky states that there is nothing impulsive what she is doing, and the way she sees it, she can either protect all that she has or she can fight all, and she only knows how to fight. She also admits she does not care about the odds after having beaten them in the past year and beating "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey in the past month, and while her career has been a long shot, nothing she has done is an accident. She proclaims that she will not hold both women's titles hostage as a double champion, as she made history by beating everybody, not dodging everybody. After that, she says that Charlotte Flair may have a pedigree, but she has her number, and while Lacey Evans has a mean right hand, she will have her beating coming at Money In The Bank. Becky also tells Lacey to come out to the ring so she can give her payback and remind her of who she is dealing with if she isn't too busy. Lacey Evans says it is just like a man to want when he wants it, and while she is trying not to lose her manners, she told Becky not to let her emotions get to her, but she did not listen and she is through talking. Becky and Lacey then brawl on the outside as referees and officials show up to separate both women.

Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder beat The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) after Dawson lies on top of Ryder for a pinfall attempt only for Ryder to turn it into a crucifix pin.

Backstage, Sarah Schreiber interviews The Miz, who says that Shane McMahon has made it personal between them before challenging Shane to a steel cage match at Money In The Bank.

Sami Zayn shows up. He says that the joy he is experience is not due to the trips he has been taking, but his soul-searching and rekindling of a love for various subjects that helped him make sense of a lot of the fans. The concept of psychological entitlement is then displayed on the TitanTron, and says that the fans have been fed the lie that "the customer is always right" for years and trained to believe that what they feel is correct and that what they want should be given to them. He then says that if the fans don't get what they want when and how they want it, they throw a fit. Sami then makes fun of a son and father to ask for an autograph at 4 AM in the airport, saying that the child has been taught that he is owed something. He then goes on to say that he owes nobody anything and that he has been more than generous after three shoulder surgeries and seventeen years of five-star classics, and from here on out, the fans get whatever he gives them. As for the people addressing him saying that he should quit if he doesn't like WWE, he admits that quitting would be amazing, but that coming out week after week holding everyone accountable for their actions and calling them out for them is better. He then says that it is high time that he takes the power back from "the critics."

Shane McMahon has accepted The Miz's challenge for a steel cage match at Money In The Bank via Twitter.

Before the next match, Samoa Joe says that Rey Mysterio's interview was touching, and while Rey's son Dominic says he loves him, he says that Dominic is ashamed of how quickly he put Rey to sleep at WrestleMania. He then says that is Rey was any kind of father, he would give Dominic a mask to hide his shame in public. Joe then says "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles used Rey to take away his Universal title opportunity, and tonight will be a reckoning. Joe goes on to say that what he did to Rey at WrestleMania will pale in comparison to what he does to him tonight.

Michael Cole moderates a contract signing between Seth Rollins and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles for the WWE Universal Championship at Money In The Bank. Styles is introduced first, followed by Rollins. Styles says he came to Raw to build on his WWE legacy, and while SmackDown Live was good to him for two years, Raw is where the fans are at. He admits that he likes Rollins, but Rollins has something he wants: the Universal title. Styles says that when you want something, you go to great lengths, and that winners find a way and that Rollins is a winner. He then asks how many times it is said that Rollins will be "the next AJ Styles." After entertaining the question, Styles tells Rollins he will never be the new him, and Rollins tells Styles that he is right and that he never wanted to be "the next AJ Styles;" he wanted to be "the first Seth Rollins." Rollins then tells Styles that things are different on Raw and that this is his turf. Styles tells Rollins he knows what Rollins went through to get the Universal Championship, and asks what the cost was before asking Rollins how he is holding up as The Shield (Dean Ambrose, Rollins, Roman Reigns) is not there for him anymore., and that he will have to be better than phenomenal to take the Universal title from him at Money In The Bank. He then states that Rollins went through hell at WrestleMania and may not have much left while he is ready to go now, and at Money In The Bank, he will be the bulldog nipping at his heels and never letting go until he is Universal Champion. Styles then signs the contract, and Rollins says that while he and Styles have a lot in common, they have a lot of differences between them, and the one thing that separates them is that Rollins beat Brock Lesnar. He then tells Styles to ask Lesnar how he is holding up, for he was at his best when he beat Lesnar and he will be at his best when he beats Styles at Money In The Bank. He then signs the contract, then Styles looks at the Universal title. Michael Cole leaves the ring, then Styles hands the Universal Championship over to Rollins before extending his hand. Rollins responds by holding up the Universal title in front of Styles, who proceeds to beat Rollins up. Rollins fights back and boots Styles out of the ring before hitting him with a tope suicida. Styles hits an elbow from the apron, then puts Rollins through the table in the ring with a Phenomenal Forearm to end the show.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
