Generation NXT - NXT recap for April 24, 2019

Jaxson Ryker vs. Humberto Carrillo ends when Ryker mercilessly assaults Carrillo in the crowd. After the match, Oney Lorcan and Danny Burch confront The Forgotten Sons (Ryker, Wesley Blake, Steve Cutler) with steel chairs. Blake and Cutler have to physically restrain Ryker.

Backstage, Adam Cole says that Johnny Gargano is scared of him and that Roderick Strong will beat Gargano at to a pulp. Suddenly, Matt Riddle is seen laughing at Cole and saying that Cole is jealous of Strong getting a match with Gargano. This almost leads to a confrontation, but Cole walks away.

Candice LeRae's partner is revealed to be Kacy Catanzaro.

Candice LeRae and Kacy Catanzaro beat Vanessa Borne and Aliyah.



Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Io Shirai, who condemns what "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler did when she is suddenly attacked by Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir before Baszler kicks her in the face.

KUSHIDA debuts next week!

General Manager William Regal says it took a lot of hard work to sign KUSHIDA, and that it is the most exciting thing to happen in NXT. Suddenly, Kassius Ohno shows up. Regal congratulates Ohno on his work in NXT UK, and Ohno congratulates Regal on signing KUSHIDA before stating nobody knows the Japanese style better than him and proposes a match between him and KUSHIDA. After Ohno leaves, Regal announces that KUSHIDA will face Kassius Ohno in his NXT debut next week.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) - still going by the name War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe) in this match - beat Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) in an all-out match.



Backstage, Mia Yim admts that "The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler is unstoppable and that she learned about herself and Shayna in their match together. She wants another shot at stopping Shayna and proving why she is a threat to her.

Johnny Gargano beats Roderick Strong. During the match, Adam Cole shows up to distract Gargano, and when Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly show up, Matt Riddle shows up from behind and fights them off as Gargano grabs Cole. Cole tries to hit Gargano with an enziguri from the outside, but accidentally nails Strong, allowing Gargano to hit the slingshot DDT for the win. After the match, Cole tries to iron things out with Strong.
