Generation NXT - NXT recap for July 18, 2018

In memory of Masa Saito, 1942 - 2018.

Lacey Evans beats Dakota Kai.

Backstage, Cathy Kelley interviews Ricochet, who says it is no secret he does not like The Undisputed Era, and while the tag champs are fighting champions, Adam Cole rarely defends his own title. He says that Adam Cole has stolen victories from him not once, but twice, and he will not stop until he gets Cole one-on-one again and becomes NXT North American Champion.

Tonight's Fatal 4-Way Match to decide a #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship is now a Triple Threat Match, as it has been reported that Bianca Belair is not medically cleared.

We hear from The Street Profits, who are back on their home turf for a one-on-one game of basketball to get themselves psyched up for tag team competition against The Mighty (Nick Miller and Shane Thorne).

We hear from Ethan Carter III, who says he hasn't forgotten The Velveteen Dream's betrayal. He interacts with two fans before running into "The Finest" Kona Reeves. He admits EC3 looks good, but he is not "The Finest." EC3 tells Kona to bring his A-game along with his banter before challenging him to a match, saying he will get the top 1% beating of a lifetime. EC3 walks away, and Reeves says he'll fight him, saying they could have been the finest of friends.

We see a video package chronicling the feud between Aleister Black and Tommaso Ciampa so far.

Kassius Ohno quickly beats Rick Ramirez.

We hear from The Undisputed Era (Adam Cole, Bobby Fish, Kyle O'Reilly, Roderick Strong), who celebrate winning the NXT tag team titles back and the championships that they have before Adam Cole says Ricochet is a joke. Cole says that he is a fighting North American Champion while Ricochet is not, and tells Ricochet to back off or else he will regret picking a fight with The Undisputed Era.

We see a video package for War Raiders (Hanson and Rowe). Hanson and Rowe talk about how they crossed paths in a tournament, "beat the snot out of each other," and decided to take the fight they gave each other and take it to everyone else. As for their image, they took inspiration from the Vikings of the past, then learned how to battle in Japan, found strategies in Japan and Mexico, and became modern-day Vikings whom nobody could stop. In 2014, however, Rowe was in a motorcycle accident that nearly ended his life and caused his arm to be rebuilt. Since then, he has learned to live without fear, and now War Raiders have brought their success to NXT, where they plan to take gold and destroy everyone.

We hear from The Velveteen Dream, who says people are buzzing over what the next experience will be. After the last few NXT TakeOver events, the lights will shine brightest for him at NXT TakeOver: Brooklyn IV.

"The Queen of Spades" Shayna Baszler guests on commentary for the next match.

Kairi Sane beats Candice LeRae and Nikki Cross with an In-Sain Elbow to LeRae following a Candice LeRae Asai moonsault onto Nikki Cross to become #1 contender for the NXT Women's Championship.
