Underground Sound - Lucha Underground recap for July 11, 2018

Cortez Castro is in the ring at the start of the show. Suddenly, Antonio Cueto shows up and reveals that he knows Cortez Castro's real name is not Cortez Castro and that his sources say that he is a police officer. He then says it is good Castro is here, because he would like to report a homicide, but instead of calling it a murder, he would rather call it a sacrifice to the gods. He then brings out "The Monster" Matanza Cueto.

"The Monster" Matanza Cueto quickly beats Cortez Castro. After the match, the lights go out, and when they come back on, Cortez Castro is gone.

Ivelisse beats Joey Ryan to earn one of the seven ancient Aztec medallions.

Before the next match, Antonio Cueto shows up and says that he feels the match is missing something, and while three champions fighting each other for an ancient Aztec medallion is great, he asks what could be greater. He says that it then came to him: two Aztec Medallions on the line instead of one. One of them will go to the winner, but the other will go to the man who is not pinned or submitted in the end.

The Mack pins Killshot in a Triple Threat Match that also involves Son of Havoc, and The Mack and Son of Havoc earn two of the seven ancient Aztec medallions. After the match, Killshot shoves Son of Havoc and confronts The Mack before knocking the ancient Aztec medallion out of his hands and leaving.

Mil Muertes beats Cage to earn an ancient Aztec medallion.. During the match, senior referee Marty Elias gets Speared, and referee Justin Borden slides in during a Cage pinfall attempt. When Mil Muertes kicks out, Cage lays Justin Borden out with a clothesline. Referee Rick Knox runs in to count the pin, but when Cage kicks out, Rick Knox gets choke slam. Later on in the match, a fan takes off his jacket and removes his mask to reveal he is Pentagon Dark in disguise, and Pentagon Dark proceeds to attack Cage with a steel chair. Senior referee Marty Elias recovers when Mil Muertes pins Cage in the middle of the ring to end the match. After the match, Catrina walks away from Mil Muertes instead of performing the Kiss of Death on Cage. After Catrina and Mil Muertes leave, Pentagon Dark then tells Cage not to be sad that he did not win the medallion, for next week, they will square off in the ring for the Lucha Underground Championship, and just like in Aztec Warfare, he will walk out as champion, and he will break his arm into pieces.

The White Rabbit Clan (Paul London, Saltador, Mala Suerte) are currently sitting in a bizarre and surreal black-and-white checkered room that is supposed to be a house. Paul London asks if the furniture - which is a size fit for a toddler - could be any smaller, then Saltador - who has never spoken until now - says he finds it quite comfortable. Suddenly, Mascarita Sagrada shows up and tells The White Rabbit Clan that the White Rabbit will see them now. The White Rabbit Clan gets excited and leaves the house, and the next thing we see is The White Rabbit Clan following Mascarita Sagrada into a portal and being met by The White Rabbit, who asks The White Rabbit Clan what they desire fo him. Paul London asks for his guidance, and The White Rabbit asks them what they would be willing to exchange for it. Paul London says "Anything that you wish." The White Rabbit takes off his glasses - revealing he is Kevin Kross (aka Killer Kross from Impact Wrestling) - and commands The White Rabbit Clan to kill Mascarita Sagrada. The small masked man in the cage next to The White Rabbit hands Paul London the scepter of The White Rabbit, and after some hesitation, Paul London smashes the staff into Mascarita Sagrada's skull. The White Rabbit laughs, and says it was very entertaining before saying it is time to see how far Paul London is really willing to go. The small masked man in the cage also laughs, and the show ends.
