Honor Roll - Ring of Honor recap for July 21, 2018

Jay Lethal shows up to start tonight's show. He says that when he beat KUSHIDA at Best In The World, it was not just a victory for him as it was part of his plan to re-establish himself at the top of the world by avenging the losses he obtained while he had all the singles gold. He completed that list by beating KUSHIDA, and now it is time to re-enter the title picture. Lethal then calls out Dalton Castle, saying he wants a shot at the ROH World Championship. Suddenly, Matt Taven shows up, asking Jay Lethal exactly how many shots at the title he needs, as he has only had two World title shots in the six years he has been here and both of them ended in interference. He says that both of them ended in interference and ROH did nothing about it, and that Dalton Castle is ducking him with a fake injury. Taven names himself the uncrowned ROH World Champion, and tells Lethal to get in line behind him. Suddenly, "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes shows up with Barnard the Business Bear, and tells Taven and Lethal that while they have valid points, he is next in line. Dalton Castle then arrives and says that the last time he heard somebody talk about something he has was back in 1997 when his mother bought him a Tamagotchi. He then makes it clear to Lethal, Cody and Taven that he feels like his body has been run over by a herd of wildebeests, but he is still ROH World Champion and he is not afraid of any challenge. If all three of them want to challenge him, he will do that. The crowd chants "Fatal 4-Way," and Castle says that not only is he afraid of a four-way dance, he will take them all on at the same time tonight.

It is announced that Eli Isom, Kenny King and Chuckie T vs. The Kingdom (Matt Taven, Vinny Marseglia, TK O'Ryan) for the ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Championships is being pushed back to next week, with the four-way dance for the ROH World Championship taking place as tonight's main event instead.

Sumie Sakai retains the ROH Women of Honor Championship against HZK after fending off an interference attempt by Hana Kimura and Kagetsu. It is announced that next week, Mayu Iwatani and Jenny Rose will take on Kimura and Kagetsu.

In footage from earlier today, news reporter Gregory Helms interviews "The Villain" Marty Scurll, but Scurll gets angry with him after Helms tells him to chill out and attacks Helms and a few members of security before attempting to break Helms' fingers.

Jay Lethal beats Dalton Castle, Matt Taven and "The American Nightmare" Cody Rhodes in a Four Corners Survival Match to become the ROH World Champion for a second time! After the match, Castle and Lethal shake hands.
