Raw Deal - Raw recap for July 2, 2018

Roman Reigns shows up to start tonight's show. Roman Reigns says they are talented and that they have a bright future, but he feels ashamed to have lost to The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder). He blames the loss on "the worst tag team partner of all time," Bobby Lashley. Instead of a tag team rematch, he wants to fight Lashley, and if he can't have him at Extreme Rules, he wants him tonight. He says that Lashley is an egomaniac and that Lashley was not nor will ever be the guy, because he is the guy around here. Suddenly, Dolph Ziggler and Drew McIntyre show up, and Dolph says Roman has to make everything about him, walks around like he owns the place and declare everything has to go through him. Drew mentions Roman making the save for Seth Rollins last week, then Dolph says he and Drew are out here to go through him for sticking his nose in their business. Drew says it is only fair to return the favor. This leads to a 2-on-1 brawl between both sides, and Roman is easily outnumbered. Suddenly, Seth Rollins runs to the ring and evens the numbers game. Seth sends Drew out of the ring, and Drew has to drag Dolph out of harm's way.

Backstage, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns meet with General Manager Kurt Angle. Angle says he will schedule the match for next week, but Roman wants it tonight. Angle tells Roman he has the tag match with The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder), then changes his mind and tells them they have their match tonight.

Before the next match, Curtis Axel parodies Matt Hardy as he talks about last week's match. Bo Dallas tells Matt Hardy that he must face them both at the same time. Bo and Curtis then sing "He's Got The Whole World In His Hands."

Curtis Axel beats Matt Hardy following the distraction by Bo Dallas.

In the locker room, Seth Rollins - who reveals that he has a 30-minute Iron Man Match against Dolph Ziggler for the WWE Intercontinental Championship at Extreme Rules and Roman Reigns are met by Bobby Lashley. Seth leaves, then Lashley says Roman has brass balls to call him an egomaniac. Lashley tells Roman he is not Superman and that he is a heat magnet and a trouble starter. He says nobody likes Roman aside from Seth, and that he does not like him either. As much as he would like to face him at Extreme Rules, he wants to win tonight. Roman tells Lashley that he will start, finish and win the match and to stand on the apron and watch. Lashley tells Roman they had better win or else he will be held responsible. When Roman asks if this is a threat, Lashley tells him it is.

We see footage from earlier today of Bayley's first counseling session. Sasha Banks shows up, then she and Bayley argue. All of a sudden, Dr. Shelby shows up and asks them to follow him into "the friend zone." In "The Friend Zone," Dr. Shelby goes over the seven tenets of friendship: love, helping, joy, sharing, time, honesty and respect.

Constable Baron Corbin shows up. Corbin says he is here to help everyone get to their full potential, and says that if authority does their job, they're just trying to make you a better person. He says Commissioner Stephanie McMahon made him Constable to help Angle be a better General Manager and help everyone in the locker room be better wrestlers. He then mentions what happened between him and Finn Balor in their match last week, and insists that he was just trying to help. He calls Finn Balor's behavior "inappropriate and unprofessional," and calls Finn Balor out, demanding an apology. Finn Balor shows up. Corbin thanks Finn for coming out, and asks him to come into the ring, apologize, admit he was wrong and promise he will never do what he did last week again. Corbin apologizes to Finn first to prove he is not singling him out. Finn makes a joke about Corbin's vest, and Corbin gives him another chance to apologize. Finn says Corbin deserves an apology...to whoever gave him his haircut. Corbin tells Finn he is just trying to help, as is it hard for guys like Finn as they are not guys like him. He says Stephanie picked him as Constable of Raw for a reason, and demands that Finn apologize. Finn says he is sorry...that Corbin lost a chance at respect after becoming Stephanie's stooge. Corbin responds by punching Finn, but Finn replies with a Sling Blade and drop kicking Corbin the apron. Corbin retreats.

Backstage, Elias is met by Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. When asked if he is performing, he says he is not performing for the fans, but for them, he has something in mind. As he plays, Liv and Logan trash a few things backstage.

We see even more footage from earlier today of Bayley and Sasha Banks' counseling session with Dr. Shelby. Dr. Shelby plays a game of "Honesty Theatre," where Sasha and Bayley try to be in each others' shoes. Sasha portrays Bayley as childish, while Bayley mocks Sasha calling herself a boss and calls her a backstabber. Bayley and Sasha then argue, and Dr. Shelby finally screams "Enough!"

Roman Reigns and Bobby Lashley beat The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) by disqualification after The Revival continuously attack Roman - who refuses to tag in Lashley, who takes matters into his own hands in an attempt to get Roman to tag him in - on the ground. After the match, Lashley heads to the back while The Revival continue to attack Roman.

Backstage, General Manager Kurt Angle is met by Kevin Owens, who tells him to fix the chaos going on on his show while asking for his match against Braun Strowman to be cancelled. Owens tries to do favors for Angle, who says that there is no way that Owens is getting out of this match. Angle tells Owens he doesn't deserve Shania Twain tickets.

We get a special look at Ant-man and the Wasp, which premieres in theaters this Friday.

Backstage, Roman Reigns meets with General Manager Kurt Angle, who tells him that Bobby Lashley was looking for a match with him at Extreme Rules and that the match is set. Roman tells Angle to find a replacement, because he will lay Lashley out next time he sees him.

Before the next match, Mojo Rawley asks No Way Jose if he made himself perfectly clear, and says he paid a steep price and sacrificed everything to get in the ring while No Way Jose just dances. Mojo feels he should not give Jose a rematch just because he dances, then throws the microphone at him. He ducks a punch, then lays Jose out before grabbing a mber of Mojo's conga line and attacking him. Jose goes after Mojo outside of the ring, but Mojo sends Jose back-first into the ring apron.

We see footage from earlier today of Renee Young interviewing "Rowdy" Ronda Rousey for WWE.com. Ronda is excited for the Raw Women's Championship match at Extreme Rules, and while she is suspended, she will be sitting front row as a fan.

Before the next match, Nia Jax tells Alexa Bliss that two months ago, when she beat her for the Raw Women's Championship, she hopes she was finished with her, but she was wrong. She also thought Alexa Bliss would be behind her forever after Backlash, but she was wrong again. After one Money In The Bank contract cash-in, they are back where they started. Nia Jax says this needs to end, and at Extreme Rules, it will. She announces that their match for the Raw Women's Championship will be an Extreme Rules Match as per General Manager Kurt Angle. As for tonight, if Mickie James wants to bring Alexa Bliss with her, then she has back-up of her own in the form of Natalya.

Nia Jax beats Mickie James after Natalya foils Alexa Bliss' distraction attempt from the ring apron.

Backstage, Kevin Owens tries to meditate, but it is not working. When he asks what Jinder Mahal, Jinder tells Owens he must breathe in and...shanti. Suddenly, Charly Caruso interviews Owens, who insists that he is not shaken up by Braun Strowman and that he is thrilled the match is still on before saying that he is not terrified of Strowman after facing him before. Tonight, he plans to get in the ring and show how one destroys a monster.

Backstage, Renee Young interviews Bobby Lashley, Lashley says that it was enjoyable watching Roman get what he was asking for tonight and that he cannot wait for Extreme Rules. Lashley says Roman only made a name for himself while he was gone, and that Roman's yard would be a concrete patch in a trailer park if he was still here all this time.

Braun Strowman beats Kevin Owens by count-out after Owens runs to the back. He tries to get in his car, but cannot, and he hides in a port-a-potty. Owens cannot get in his car, so he hides in a port-a-potty. Braun Strowman starts looking for him, but when he passed by the port-a-potty again, he smells something. Owens is using the toilet. Strowman asks if anyone is in there with a lady's voice. Owens answers. Strowman takes a nearby roll of duct tape and wraps tape around the port-a-potty, then grabs the ropes underneath and drags the port-a-potty towards the ring. After dragging the port-a-potty up a ramp and nearly tipping it, Strowman lugs the port-a-potty by the ropes to the stage. Strowman then runs towards the port-a-potty and topples it off the stage with his bare hands. Owens has to be helped out of the port-a-potty. When he comes out, he is in pain and covered in a blue liquid.
