Layin 'da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for May 12, 2016

Dean Ambrose starts tonight's show. He says that he and Chris Jericho are even now, and that as long as his heart beat, nobody can take the ring from him. He then wonders what to take from Jericho next, then decides to take his ego. As he talks about what he's going to do to him, Chris Jericho's entrance interrupts him. When the lights come back on, however, Dean Ambrose is down, and Jericho is in the ring. He puts Ambrose in a straightjacket, then attacks him. Ambrose is defenseless, and can't do anything against Jericho. Officials finally break this up, then Jericho gloats.



Rusev beats Sin Cara with the Accolade after Lana splashes Jerry "The King" Lawler's water into Kalisto's face, allowing Rusev to have his way with both Kalisto and Sin Cara.



Renee Young interviews Emma. When she asks who Dana Brooke is, Dana Brooke shows up and tells us exactly who she is, and we find out she has a debut match against Becky Lynch.

Dana Brooke beats Becky Lynch in her debut match with a jackknife pin and a poke in the eye from Emma.



AJ Styles is in the locker room with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. He says he's got their backs, and if Roman Reigns jumps in, he'll take care of him.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) show up. They talk about their recent troubles with The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch), and say they plan on smacking them back to the futures. Suddenly, The Vaudevillains show up and say that they will soon become the next WWE Tag Team Champions, that the sun will set on The New Day, and that the night will belong to them.



Aiden English uses the ropes outside of the referee's field of vision to beat Kofi Kingston after



Roman Reigns tells The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) to handle family business, and if AJ Styles shows, he'll handle him.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs. The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) ends when the match gets out of control outside of the ring. After the match is over, Luke Gallows hits both of The Usos in the back with a steel chair.



As R-Truth waters his selfie stick while taking a picture with Tyler Breeze, Fandango and Goldust dance.

Bob Backlund talks with Darren Young...and it becomes obvious Backlund doesn't know what a smartphone is.



The Gorgeous Truth (R-Truth and Tyler Breeze) beat Goldango (Fandango and Tyler Breeze)...after Breeze turns on Truth and Fandango turns on Goldust. Goldust and R-Truth are attacked after the match, and Goldust protects R-Truth, keeping Truth from the brunt of the punishment.



Renee Young interviews Charlotte and Ric Flair. Flair says he'll be at Extreme Rules in spirit and that Charlotte will retain the WWE Women's Championship.

The Miz and Kevin Owens beat Sami Zayn and Cesaro after Sami Zayn accidentally hits Cesaro with a Helluva Kick meant for Miz. After the match, everyone brawls with each other, and The Miz stands tall at the end of the show.
