Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 16, 2016

AJ Styles starts tonight's show. He's sick and tired of everyone - including Roman Reigns - calling him a liar. After showing some tweets involving him and The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson) on the TitanTron, and after AJ says he got where he is on his own, Roman Reigns shows up. Roman says that unless AJ Styles wins the WWE World Heavyweight Championship, nothing he's done matters. Roman says that Styles is phenomental, and that he'll be in The Usos' (Jimmy and Jey Uso) corner. When he asks AJ Styles if he'll be in The Club's corner, he says yes and that he'll also be wherever Roman is until he takes the WWE World Heavyweight title. Roman says that he'll do whatever it takes to retain the WWE World Heavyweight Championship and that he knows AJ can't beat him on his own, so he expects The Club to be there this Sunday. AJ says he'll have reinforcements, and Anderson and Gallows show up. Unfortunately for them, so do The Usos, and Roman hits AJ with a right hand to knock him out of the ring.

The Miz, Maryse and Kevin Owens guest on commentary for the next match.

Apollo Crews is Golden Corral's "Fired-Up Superstar of the Night."

Sami Zayn vs. Cesaro ends when Kevin Owens attacks The Miz and takes their brawl into the ring. Sami and Cesaro fight off Miz and Owens, causing the match to be thrown out. Shane McMahon shows up and makes a tag team match between the team The Miz and Kevin Owens vs. the team of Cesaro and Sami Zayn. Stephanie McMahon then shows up and takes the predictability out of it by taking last week's SmackDown into consideration and teaming Cesaro with The Miz and Kevin Owens with Sami Zayn, much to the chagrin of Owens. She also tells Kevin that if he walks out on the match, then he's automatically out of the Intercontinental Championship match at Extreme Rules.

Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens beat The Miz and Cesaro after Miz tosses Cesaro out of the ring and tries to do the Cesaro Swing, only for Cesaro to hit him with his own Skull Crushing Finale. After the match, Kevin Owens attacks Sami Zayn and tells him "I won this one, too."

Renee Young interviews Chris Jericho, who says he wants Dean Ambrose to apologize for destroying his jacket.

The Shining Stars (Primo and Epico) debut next!

John Cena returns in two weeks.

Dean Ambrose shows up. After talking about what happened to him in the last week, saying that when he was placed in the straightjacket, he felt something snap. He calls out Chris Jericho, who shows up. Jericho tells Ambrose that he wants the $15,000 his jacket costs, and to apologize for destroying said jacket. Ambrose says that's not happening, as he is challenging him to a match at Extreme Rules. Jericho tells him he's got the match, then Ambrose wants to know if he's sure he wants to do this, but Jericho says he's the real lunatic here and that he will destroy him on Sunday. Ambrose says "Good. I've got a gift for you." Down comes a steel cage, with several weapons at the top such as a barbed wire 4x4, a potted plant and even a straightjacket. He says that this match will be the first ever Asylum Match, that there is no escape, and that when he's done with Jericho, Jericho will never, ever be the same again.

We see a video package of how The Golden Truth (Goldust and R-Truth) got together during the last five months.

Tyler Breeze and Fandango beat The Golden Truth (Goldust and R-Truth) after Tyler Breeze ducks and R-Truth accidentally kicks Goldust in the face.

R-Truth talks with Goldust backstage and tries to talk some sense into them. When Tyler Breeze and Fandango show up and make fun of them, Goldust and R-Truth immediately regroup.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) show up, with a large item covered with a black curtain. Kofi says he doesn't get the whole "bygone era" thing that The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) are talking about. We then find out that a time machine is behind the black curtain. They uncover it, go in and go back in time. Kofi comes out, and we get the original Kofi Kingston with eh Jamaican accent. Xavier Woods pulls him back inside, then the show goes black and white. When they make it to the bygone era, everyone has weird facial erea, Booty-O's are Derriere Squares, and there are no video games. After Kofi says he hates the bygone era and that The New Day will always be tag team champs regardless of the era, they are attacked by The Vaudevillains.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) beat The Club (Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson). After the match, Gallows attacks Roman Reigns as he stares down AJ Styles, but The Usos keep Anderson and Gallows busy. Anderson brings a steel chair into the ring, but AJ Styles almost ends up being the one using it when Roman Reigns catches him and hits him. Anderson and Gallows eat Superman Punches, but AJ Styles ends up using that steel chair after all and hits Roman Reigns on it with the Styles Clash.

Before the next match, Big Cass says that while The Dudley Boyz have a problem with the new era, he has a problem with The Dudley Boyz. Before he can finish speaking, The Dudley Boyz show up.

Big Cass beats D-Von Dudley.

Rusev attacks Sin Cara backstage during the next match.

Alberto Del Rio beats Kalisto after Rusev sends Sin Cara into the ring and attacks him some more there, distracting Kalisto and allowing Del Rio to get the win. Rusev attacks Kalisto after the match. After a while, he lets go of the hold and throws the United States Championship at a downed Kalisto.

Dolph Ziggler vs. Baron Corbin in a no-disqualification match is the kick-off for Extreme Rules.

Shane McMahon and Stephanie McMahon are in the ring for the contract signing for the WWE Women's Championship Submission Match between Natalya and Charlotte at Extreme Rules. "The Nature Boy" Ric Flair shows up and introduces his daughter, Charlotte. Shane then introduces Natalya. Before Natalya signs, she asks Charlotte what happened to her between NXT and now, and then signs the contract. Charlotte tells Natalya she's delusional, and that the crowd is here to cheer for her, not Natalya, and says that Natalya is proof that the Hart family is a bunch of familures. Charlotte almost signs the contract, but she and Ric Flair notice something in the contract. It is revealed that if Ric Flair shows up during the match, Charlotte will lose the WWE Women's Championship. Shane then brings out security on Flair again, and Stephanie says that if Charlotte doesn't sign the contract right now, she will lose the WWE Women's Championship tonight. Ric Flair then takes his anger out on Shane and Stephanie, and threatens to fight Shane. Shane doesn't want to fight him, saying that he has too much respect for him. Stephanie, on the other hand, admits she doesn't and slaps Ric Flair right in the face. Nattie then puts a distracted Charlotte in the Sharpshooter as security takes Ric Flair out of the ring to end the show.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
