War of the Worlds 2016 - Night 1 - The Results

Might I suggest reading Voices of Wrestling's review? I had a blast reading this one as I worked on this recap.

The show starts with Bullet Club (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Tama Tonga, Tanga Roa) in the ring. The Club's newest member, Adam Cole, states that the Club is not afraid of repercussions because The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe), Colt Cabana and Jay Lethal don't scare them. He states that they are not done with their attacks, and are about to make ring announcer Bobby Cruise their next victim when The Briscoes show up. Jay says that both sides are popular, but he and Mark are only worried about getting business done in the ring and not fooling around on the Internet before calling Bullet Club "dick riding bitches." The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) then show up, talk about how tough people from Detroit are, then suggest to the Briscoes that they both team up to take on the Bullet Club. Adam Cole butts in, asking how they're going to take them on with only four guys. Enter Adam Page, who says he'll be the fifth man. He also wants the match now, but Bullet Club gets out, with Matt Jackson saying that they're waiting until the main event as The Bullet Club doesn't "jerk the curtain."

ACH and "Reborn" Matt Sydal beat "The Last Real Man" Silas Young and The Beer City Bruiser. After the match, ACH says it's time for him to go it alone, and ACH and Sydal shake hands.

Roderick Strong beats Lio Rush (who replaces Jushin "Thunder" Liger, who was attacked by Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian at Global Wars). After the match, Roddy continues to taunt Liger...who shows up and hits Roddy with a palm strike. He talks with Lio Rush, then joins commentary.

War Machine (Hanson and Rowe) declare before their next match that they are putting their titles on the line in what is originally a non-title match.

War Machine (Hanson and Rowe) retain the ROH World Tag Team Championships against CHAOS ("The Rainmaker" Kazuchika Okada and Gedo). After the match, The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) show up and make fun of War Machine's beards, calling them "ZZ-Flop" before saying that War Machine have never beaten them and that they were never pinned when they lost the tag titles. They challenge War Machine to a match for the tag titles in New York City this Saturday. Hanson mentions that The Addiction haven't won a match in two months, and attack their opponents every time they lose. Rowe then accepts the challenge...for later tonight.

KUSHIDA beats Dalton Castle.

Hiroshi Tanahashi and "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin beat The All Night Express (Kenny King and Rhett Titus).

Tomohiro Ishii beats Moose.

The Addiction (Christopher Daniels and Frankie Kazarian) beat War Machine (Hanson and Rowe) to become the ROH World Tag Team Champions after Kazarian hits Rowe with one of the championship belts as well as the ammunition belt from their entrance gear.

reDRagon (Bobby Fish and Kyle O'Reilly) beat Tetsuya Naito and Jay Lethal.

Bullet Club (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Tama Tonga, Tanga Roa) announce that Adam Page has been invited to an early superkick party after he fails to appear with The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe) and The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley). For a few minutes, the match is 5-on-4 when Adam Page gets an impressive replacement: Colt Cabana.

Bullet Club (Adam Cole, Matt Jackson, Nick Jackson, Tama Tonga, Tanga Roa) beat The Briscoes (Jay and Mark Briscoe), The Motor City Machine Guns (Chris Sabin and Alex Shelley) and Colt Cabana when Adam Page, who is initally thought to be out, appears and hits Jay Briscoe with a steel chair before putting him into a table (but not through it) with the Rite of Passage. It is then revealed that Adam Page has joined Bullet Club, and he takes a noose and hangs Chris Sabin with it over the top rope
