Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for May 26, 2016

Michael Cole is in the ring with the Money In The Bank Briefcase. He then interviews Dean Ambrose in the ring. Ambrose says he destroyed Chris Jericho on Sunday in grand fashion, and before he can say what he's willing to do to win the MITB Briefcase, Kevin Owens shows up and tells Michael Cole to get out of the ring before he gets in it. Cole leaves, then Owens confronts Ambrose and says the only crazy thing about him is that he thinks he has a chance against him as he declares himself the future Mr. Money In The Bank. Sami Zayn shows up and says nobody cares what Owens has to say...and Ambrose agrees. Sami makes it clear he's tired of Owens costing him matches, but says that the briefcase is his focus, not Ambrose. He says that Ambrose and Owens aren't taking the briefcase from him. Suddenly, Alberto Del Rio shows up. He says he's won the Money In The Bank Ladder Match before and he'll do it again. Sami Zayn tells him he's not even in the match, and that he has to beat Zack Ryder tonight to qualify. Kevin Owens attacks Sami Zayn from behind, and Sami goes after him only to almost accidentally hit Dean Ambrose with the Helluva Kick, but Sami stops himself. Owens is out of the ring, and as Sami stares down Owens, Ambrose almost gets Sami from behind with Dirty Deeds. Sami and Ambrose then stare each other down as Del Rio and Owens watch on.

Alberto Del Rio beats Zack Ryder with the Cross Arm breaker to qualify for the Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Enzo Amore and Big Cass show up. The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley) interrupt before Enzo can talk, and it becomes clear both teams don't like each other. Big Cass says he and Enzo want a piece of them, and D-Von accepts the challenge...but Bubba Ray says they're not doing this on Raw, not tonight.

Renee Young interviews Lana and Rusev. Lana declares that Rusev be addressed in interviews as "the greatest US Champion of all time." Rusev says that Kalisto is a baby and that titles are for grown men, and that Kalisto will fare no better than he did at Extreme Rules, and he will make sure Kalisto will make sure he never flies again.

Rusev retains the WWE United States Championship against Kalisto. Before Rusev can attack Kalisto after the match, Titus O'Neil shows up and confronts Rusev, telling him to be a real champ and defend the title and take him on right now. Rusev leaves, telling Titus he's not worth his time.
