Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 9, 2016

Chris Jericho starts tonight's show with another edition of The Highlight Reel. Tonight's guest was supposed to be Dean Ambrose, but he's out ever since Jericho hit him in the back of the head with Mitch the potted plant, whose remains sit on a stool, and says that Ambrose is now a shattered mess of dirt and dust and bones waiting for someone to put him back together again. He then verbally craps on the audience for mourning Mitch's death, and yet he understands why they mourn as he says that Mitch is more interesting than Dean Ambrose. He then calls Dean Ambrose a loser just like the WWE Universe, and says that explains why Ambrose is so relatable. Jericho then calls himself the "Halley's Comet" of wrestling, and says that the WWE Universe really wants the gift of Jericho. Suddenly, he is interrupted by Colin Cassady, who is not impressed with "the gift of Jericho," and says that Jericho doesn't know what the "new era" is all about. Big Cass says he has arrived, and that Jericho is in his way. Jericho tells him to run off to the hospital, but Big Cass says he's here to fight and he wants to fight right now. He says Jericho may be the best in the world at what he does, but he's seven feet tall and you can't teach that. Jericho teases a fight, but then he leaves the ring. Colin Cassady calls him "sawft," and Jericho rushes back into the ring only to run right into a big boot from Big Cass.

Chris Jericho gets with Stephanie McMahon backstage, telling her that Colin Cassady and the new era has no respect, that the lack of respect in the new era is all Shane McMahon's fault and that she's the smart McMahon and that she and him together can stop the new era. Stephanie McMahon responds by siding with Shane, saying he's doing a great job, and putting Jericho in a match with Colin Cassady later tonight. She also warns Jericho to never ever drive a wedge between her and Shane again.

Baron Corbin beats Dolph Ziggler.

Shane McMahon meets with Charlotte and Ric Flair backstage. Charlotte mentions Stephanie's decision to ban Ric Flair from Extreme Rules and wants it reversed, but Shane says Stephanie's decision is final and that Ric Flair is also banned from the ring tonight.

Jojo interviews AJ Styles, Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson. Styles says he nearly obliterated Roman Reigns with the steel chair, but he didn't, and that he will not hesitate to take out Roman next time. He also says that as of tonight, "The Club" is officially back together again.

R-Truth beats Fandango after Truth is accidentally pushed into the ropes, knocking over Breeze, who is on the apron along with Goldust.

Stephanie McMahon makes The Miz vs. Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens for the WWE Intercontinental Championship official for Extreme Rules. Sami Zayn shows up and wants in on the action, but Shane McMahon tells him he has to earn his shot. Sami Zayn says he's fine with that and wants to earn his shot tonight. Stephanie makes a match for tonight between Sami Zayn and The Miz, and if Sami beats Miz, Sami is in the match and it becomes a Fatal Four-Way. The Miz doesn't like the idea, but Stephanie McMahon tells him to deal with it.

Natalya guests on commentary for the next match, and makes it clear that she did not tap out at Payback.

Paige beats Charlotte with a roll-up when Charlotte is distracted by Shane McMahon and a few officials forcing Ric Flair to leave the ring when he shows up to confront Natalya despite being banned from ringside.

Sami Zayn beats The Miz, and is now part of the Intercontinental Championship match at Extreme Rules.

Renee Young interviews Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch says Emma's eye poke was no accident. Emma shows up, and says that speaking of eyes, Becky should have some in the back of her head. Becky is then suddenly attacked by Dana Brooke, Emma's ally from NXT.

UpUpDownDown and Dolph Ziggler advertise Bacon Stuffed-Crust Pizza from Pizza Hut.

Zack Ryder talks with Shane McMahon when Kevin Owens shows up amd complains about the Intercontinental Championship, and Zack Ryder says he should be in the title picture because he beat him for the title at WrestleMania. Shane gets the idea to put Zack Ryder in a match with Kevin Owens, and if Zack Ryder wins, he replaces Kevin Owens in the Fatal Four-Way Match for the Intercontinental title at Extreme Rules. Owens is livid.

Tom Phillips interviews Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso). Roman says tonight is about two things: representing family and beating The Club (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson). He doesn't matter what the situation is in this elimination rules match; he plans to win tonight.

Sin Cara beats Rusev with some help from Kalisto, who makes Lana's distraction attempt backfire.

Primo and Epico are coming back next week!

Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs. The Club (AJ Styles, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson) ends with Karl Anderson hitting Roman Reigns in the back with a steel chair. AJ Styles and Roman Reigns brawl, and each one dares the other to them with a chair. AJ Styles slides out of the ring in the end.

Kevin Owens beats Zack Ryder.

Renee Young interviews Colin Cassady, who is pretty much known as Big Cass at this point. Big Cass dedicates tonight's match to Enzo Amore, and says that he'll be the only man left standing in the room after fighting the biggest match of his life.

The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods) are in the ring. They mention their match for the WWE Tag Team Championships against The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) at Extreme Rules, then worship the last Booty-O from WrestleMania. Big E then says that the era that The Vaudveillains want to take the WWE back to is an era that's not so kind to people like them...smartphone users.

The Dudley Boyz (Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley) beat The New Day (Kofi Kingston and Big E) after The Vaudevillains (Aiden English and Simon Gotch) attack Xavier Woods and Big E, and D-Von takes advantage of the situation with a big lariat. The Vaudevillains then hit the Whirling Dervish on Kofi Kingston after the match.

This Thursday on SmackDown: Sami Zayn and Cesaro vs. Kevin Owens and The Miz! Roman Reigns vs. Luke Gallows!

Before the next match, Chris Jericho is attacked during his entrance and the attacker steals his jacket. The attacker is revealed to be none other than Dean Ambrose when the lights come back on. Dean Ambrose tears up the jacket, and Jericho gets back in the ring only to get a beating from Ambrose. Jericho saves what's left of the jacket, then slaps Big Cass when he tells him to get out of the way. Big Cass roughs Jericho up, then sends him back in the ring where he eats a Dirty Deeds from Ambrose and destroys the jacket futher to end the show. Shane and Stephanie McMahon discuss what just happened, then Stephanie looks at the nearby picture of Vince McMahon and a young Shane as Shane takes a phone call. Stephanie smiles.

Here are the top 10 moments from tonight's show!
