Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 28, 2022

Kevin Owens - in a cowboy hat - shows up to start tonight's show, and introduces Seth "Freakin'" Rollins. Together, they head to the ring for The Kevin Owens Show. Owens admits they have not secured their place in WrestleMania yet and says that this is not okay, as they are the two biggest Superstars in history. Rollins says it is no secret they have been screwed on the road to WrestleMania, but the WrestleMania goes have given them one more opportunity in the form of the Raw tag titles. He says they will take the titles into WrestleMania and make moments. Owens says that people have stated his disdain for Texas may distract, but nothing will distract him and keep them from becoming tag team champions next week and going on to WrestleMania. Owens then stomps his hat to prove that nothing or nobody from Texas will distract them, then Rollins brings out tonight's guests: Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis). When Chad Gable says "Thank you" as Alpha Academy is welcome to the show, Kevin Owens mentions that he pronounces it funny. Gable says that Owens and Rollins are a bunch of asses making assumptions, then says he and Otis are still the champions right now. Owens says that is true until next week, when the Raw tag titles come home to him and Rollins, and Rollins says they need the titles and the titles need them. Gable says they weaseled their way into their match and turned the odds against them. Owens says he does not like numbers and that they are confusing and that it is business, not personal, but Gable says Owens and Rollins are so worried about getting their spot at WrestleMania when they've been there and he has not. Rollins says that after he and Owens win the belts, Alpha Academy can face them at WrestleMania. This leads to Chad Gable "shooshing" Owens and Rollins so much that Owens hits him with a Stunner.

We see a video package of Omos.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Omos, who says that ever since he debuted last year, he has dominated against all his opponents, and tonight, he comes across his largest opponent in T-Bar. Omos says that tonight, he will dominate him.

Omos beats T-Bar.

Backstage, we hear from Doudrop and Nikki A.S.H. Nikki says she is the hero of the story, not tonight's opponents, and Doudrop says Nikki can be the hero because she is just fine being the villain. Becky Lynch show up and say that heroes and villains do not matter and that winning does, and that she and Doudrop are willing to put differences aside and win tonight just like she will win at WrestleMania.

Backstage, Liv Morgan looks at Rhea Ripley's vest and says that tonight will not be easy, and wants to know what the strategy is. Rhea Ripley says "brutality," then Bianca Belair shows up and says she wants a piece of Becky Lynch for a long-overdue K.O.D. and a preview of WrestleMania.

Bianca Belair, Rhea Ripley and Liv Morgan beat Becky Lynch, Nikki A.S.H. and Doudrop after Bianca hits Becky so hard with her hair that it leaves marks on her midsection.

Tommaso Ciampa beats Robert Roode after kneeing Dolph Ziggler in the face. After the match, Roode attacks Ciampa, then gets him up so that Ziggler can superkick him. Dana Brooke and Reggie beat Akira Tozawa and Tamina. After the match, Dana kisses Reggie in the ring. Afterwards, Tamina pulls Tozawa off the floor and kisses him.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford). Montez Ford says he and Angelo Dawkins are former tag champions, and if they can take out RK-Bro, they just might be next in line for them. Dawkins says they have to save the tag division from Alpha Academy as well as Seth Rollins doing his best Dr. Eggman impression. He hopes that Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens are ready, because they want the tag team titles.

Before the next match, Rey Mysterio says that The Miz and Logan Paul challenged him and Dominik Mysterio to a match at WrestleMania, and even after they accepted, they still had to cheap shot them. Rey says that at WrestleMania, The Miz will be done with "all his B.S." Dominik says that tonight, they are focused on The Hurt Business and not some "Hollywood mega-dumbass and his fan boy." The Miz shows up and takes offense to Dominik's description of himself and Logan Paul before running down his WWE accolades, to which he adds joining forces with Logan Paul, whom he calls "more man than anyone in this arena." He says that with his help, Logan Paul will become the most successful Superstar in WWE history besides himself, as Logan Paul will enjoy beating Rey and Dominik down more than anyone else. Miz then says he also heard cheers last week and that he is getting the respect he deserves due to teaming with Logan Paul, then says that the fans want "the same old standard crap" in Rey and Dominik while he and Logan are better, newer and more global.

The Hurt Business (Shelton Benjamin and Cedric Alexander) beat Rey and Dominik Mysterio after The Miz grabs Dominik's ankle and tries to pull him out of the ring, which causes Rey to chase after Miz. This allows Shelton to pin a distracted Dominik with a schoolkid pin for the win.

Backstage, Matt Riddle tells Randy Orton that he is staying inside the lines on his coloring book to stay focused, and says he cannot tell if it is because of The Stomp that Seth "Freakin'" Rollins gave him or because he put the "hi" in Ohio. Orton notes that Riddle is doing just fine, then says that he and Riddle are going to win the Raw tag team titles if that is the last thing they do.

Backstage, Carmella and Queen Zelina talk about Carmella's new YouTube reality show "Corey & Carmella" before addressing Naomi and Sasha Banks' challenge, saying they accept. Carmella says that after they win, she and Corey Graves will really put on a show.

The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) beat RK-Bro (Matt Riddle and Randy Orton) after Angelo Dawkins moves Orton's foot off the bottom rope after Montez Ford hits the top rope splash.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Kevin Owens and Seth Rollins. Rollins says they have momentum, ride it into WrestleMania, and hopefully ride it into facing The Usos for the SmackDown tag titles. Owens says that after WrestleMania, they will leave "the hellhole that is Texas."

We hear from Veer Mahaan, who says that the lion is a predator whose only instinct is to hunt and to devour. Veer Mahaan is coming to Raw.

Backstage, Austin Theory meets with Vince McMahon and mentions Pat McAfee's podcast interview with Vince, and asks what could happen if Pat ticked Vince off. Vince says it is not that kind of show, and leaves. Austin then says "But it could be."

Finn Balor beats Damian Priest after reversing the Reckoning to become the WWE United States Champion! After the match, Priest says the fans carried him to the United States Championship, then says the fans never gave him that kind of respect when he was champion and that he will win that championship back and prove that this inspiration did not mean anything. Priest then levels Balor with a clothesline before sending Finn Balor into the announce table with a release crucifix bomb.

Edge heads to the ring. Edge says he is ready for someone to step up and take his challenge to face him at WrestleMania, and demands somebody step up to him. When nobody shows up, Edge asks what has happened to WWE. Suddenly, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles shows up. AJ says to Edge "I accept," and Edge says he is happy because both they and the fans have wanted this match for a long time. Edge then says he wants "the bulldog AJ" and not the man who has been "a tag team bitch to Omos for the past year." Edge then extends his hand, and when AJ reaches out to shake it, Edge beats AJ up. AJ fights back, but Edge ducks the Phenomenal Forearm and kicks him in the groin. Edge then grounds for the ground and pound on Styles, then teases leaving only to grab two chairs, take them to the ring and places AJ's head on one of them. He then reluctantly takes the other and hits AJ with the Con-Chair-To. After two Con-Chair-To shots, Edge looks at the WrestleMania sign to end the show.
