Vengeance Day - NXT 2.0 recap for February 15, 2022

Pete Dunne beats Tony D'Angelo in a weaponized steel cage match.

We see footage of Cora Jade and Raquel Gonzalez getting ready for the women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

We hear from both The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) and MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) in footage from earlier today.

Toxic Attraction (Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne) retain the NXT Women's Tag Team Championships against Indi Hartwell and Persia Pirotta.

Backstage, Amari Cooper and Wendy Choo are talking when Amari mentions she has a partner for the women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Wendy tries to ask Dakota Kai to team with her, but Dakota keeps talking to herself.

Grayson Waller leads two police officers into the arena to arrest LA Knight.

We see Josh Briggs and Brooks Jensen at the bar talking about Jensen's date with Kayden Carter, who said that Jensen is like a brother to her. It takes an opinion from the bartender - who is Fallon Henley - for Jensen to find out this is not exactly a good thing.

LA Knight heads to the ring, but Grayson Waller shows up with the police officers to arrest LA Knight. Grayson Waller says LA Knight's attacks on him have caused him emotional distress and an inability to sleep. When Waller sics the cops on him, LA Knight shows Knight's attack on him from two weeks ago. LA Knight says he has already read the restraining order from front to back, and that according to the order, he cannot touch Waller, but Grayson Waller cannot touch him. Knight says that the restraining order is not worth the paper it is printed on. One of the cops shrugs, and the cops leave. LA Knight then lays out Waller as soon as Waller turns around. Sanga gets in the ring, but Knight fends him off and says that next week, he will beat Waller.

As Persia Pirotta and Indi Hartwell talk about tonight's match, Dexter Lumis shows up and Indi leaves with him. Duke Hudson then shows up and holds Persia's hand as they leave the locker room.

We hear from Tommaso Ciampa, who says that he has spent built NXT and his home for the last couple of years, yet people think nothing of it, see NXT as a "farm system" and think they are better than him. He says that Dolph Ziggler has mistaken his loyalty for fear, and says that he and Ziggler will both be watching the match for the NXT Championship that they both want, as this is his home.

Carmelo Hayes retains the NXT North American Championship against Cameron Grimes with help from Trick Williams.

Backstage, Kay Lee Ray breaks some glasses before telling Io Shirai there is something she must be must be mad about. After Io Shirai breaks some glasses with the bat, Zoey Stark shows up and destroys her mug. Io Shirai says she likes Kay Lee Ray and leaves, and Zoey Stark admits that Kay Lee Ray is off to a better start than she was. Kay Lee Ray says she and Io Shirai will have some fun.

The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) beat MSK (Nash Carter and Wes Lee) to win the 2022 Men's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.

We see a vignette for Nikkita Lyons. She talks about about how her dad told her to stop beating people as she has the potential to bring people together, but also says that she is "a whole lotta woman bringing a whole lotta whuppin.'" Nikkita Lyons debuts next week.

Imperium (Gunther, Fabian Aichner, Marcel Barthel) is in the ring. Fabian Aichner congratulates The Creed Brothers (Julius and Brutus Creed) on winning the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, but their opportunity at the NXT tag titles is just that: an opportunity. He says that one must be able to endure agony and misery in order to face them. Gunther says Imperium has brought honor to pro wrestling, and says it is time to win singles gold in NXT, and that he is watching tonight's NXT title match. Solo Sikoa suddenly shows up and says that for him, it is all about smacking the taste out of the mouth of the biggest man around, and says he will make Gunther his bitch.

Backstage, McKenzie Mitchell interviews Dolph Ziggler. He says that Tommaso Ciampa is the pulse of NXT, but next week, he will stop that pulse when he kicks the doors to his house in. He also says he will be watching the NXT Championship match closely.

NXT LVL UP starts this Friday at 10 PM Eastern/9 PM Central on Peacock and WWE Network! (The show replaces 205 Live, which has been redundant due to the sunset of the Cruiserweight Division.)

Backstage, Carmelo Hayes and Trick Williams talk about tonight's match when Pete Dunne shows up and congrats Carmelo, saying Carmelo is still North American Champion...for now.

Bron Breakker retains the NXT Championship against Santos Escobar despite interference from the rest of Legado del Fantasma (Joaquin Wilde, Raul Mendoza, Elektra Lopez) and Dolph Ziggler, the latter of whom gets beaten up by Tommaso Ciampa after hitting Breakker with a superkick.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
