Raw Deal - Raw recap for February 21, 2022

Brock Lesnar heads to the ring to start tonight's show. Before Lesnar can say much of anything, Paul Heyman arrives, but Lesnar warns him not to walk off the stage before helping to lead a "you suck" chant. Heyman says that Roman Reigns does not suck before calling Roman the true world heavyweight champion of WWE and explaining that he is here out of love for their twenty years of business and friendship. He says that Heyman is myopic and on top of the world right now, but he has an obstacle in his path in the form of a WWE Championship defense at Madison Square Garden. Lesnar says he can appreciate Heyman even though he is "such a dick," and Heyman says that even if Bobby Lashley does not show up for the show, he will still have his back to make the match world title-caliber. Lesnar tells Heyman he is doing fine without him, and after thanking him for telling him where he needs to be, he tells him that on Friday, he will be standing with Roman Reigns demanding acknowledgement when he shows up on SmackDown.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Seth "Freakin'" Rollins and Kevin Owens. Owens says they have a path to the main event of WrestleMania as they are the best team on Raw, and that after having went to management, they will be added to the Raw tag title match in two weeks when they beat RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Matt Riddle) tonight. He then says after they win the Raw tag titles, they will challenge The Usos for the SmackDown tag titles, then says that this plan is so good that it makes WrestleMania taking place in "the hellhole that is" Dallas, Texas more bearable.

Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis) beat The Street Profits (Angelo Dawkins and Montez Ford) after Montez Ford lifts up Otis only for Otis to land on him for a pinfall attempt and Gable grabs the ankle to keep Montez from kicking out.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Tommaso Ciampa. Ciampa says this all started because Dolph Ziggler wanted to disrespect him on his home turf and that he will take on Ziggler any day of the week, with Robert Roode being a bonus. He then says he knew who he needed to call for a tag team partner: Finn Balor. Finn Balor says Raw may be his home now, but he does not forget where he came from and he does not forget his history with Ciampa. He says that they stood neck and neck, but now they stand shoulder to shoulder.

Finn Balor and Tommaso Ciampa beat The Dirty Dawgs (Dolph Ziggler and Robert Roode).

It is made official that Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 38 will be a Winner Take All title versus title match for the WWE Championship and Universal Championship.

It's time for Miz TV. He tells the fans that being like him is unattainable and that he knows that they attach themselves to somehow else who has become famous, like Rey Mysterio, and look past his misconducts. Miz says that the fans need Rey because if he succeeds, they succeed, and that he has realized that the fans cannot be trusted. He says he has found a new tag partner he can relate to who is from a fighting family and is very dashing. Rey and Dominik Mysterio show up, and Rey says that he and Miz are not the same and that there is nobody who would tag with The Miz because nobody in the locker room can stand him. Rey says that the outsider who is willing to tag with him should go back to where he came from and give a WrestleMania moment to those who deserve it, but Miz says he knows what is best for the wrestling business, not him or the fans. He says their match at Elimination Chamber felt like a handicap match, then questions if Dominik has a WWE contract because of Rey. Dominik says he has been in the front row since he was seven and that he knows what it takes to be a WWE Superstar. He says that he will do what it takes to stay here, because the wrestling business is in his blood and all he knows. Miz then proposes that his new tag team partner face Rey and Dominik at WrestleMania, then introduces his new tag team partner: Logan Paul. Logan Paul says he has bigger pool toys than Rey, then Dominik says that if that is the best Miz can do, they accept. Miz then attacks Rey from behind while Logan attacks Dominik, then send both of them into ring posts. Miz hits Rey with the Skull Crushing Finale, then Logan does the same to Dominik.

Backstage, Kevin Patrick interviews Alpha Academy (Chad Gable and Otis). Gable says that tonight's main event is disgusting, as Seth Rollins and Kevin Owens complained to get a title shot and it worked, then says that regardless of who is in the title picture, they will win.

We hear from Veer Mahaan, who says that we question because we do not understand and that we do not understand because we do not belive, and for that our kingdom has become empty and will soon become his. Veer Mahaan is coming to Raw.

Rhea Ripley beats Nikki A.S.H.

Damian Priest beats Shelton Benjamin. After the match, Damian Priest gives props to Shelton Benjamin for fighting him like a man, then says he has beaten athletes of his caliber before and that there are former world champions that he has always beaten. He says that they have all stepped up and he has remained United States Champion, then says that it is WrestleMania season and wants a WrestleMania-class opponent. He announces an open challenge for next week and wants a world champion-caliber challenger. Suddenly, Finn Balor shows up and tells Damian Priest that if he wants to face a serious athlete and fighter who is a world class-level opponent, then he is talking about him. He tells Damian to be careful what he wishes for and that he will see him next week.

Reggie heads to the ring. Reggie asks Dana Brooke to join him in the ring. Dana Brooke shows up. Reggie says he has been supportive of Dana Brooke ever since she became champion and that he is fine with the two of them becoming friends, but he lost sight of what was important and took his opportunity only to feel bad about it all week. Reggie apologizes to Dana Brooke and says he wants to prove that she means more to him, then brings a referee to the ring. Reggie lays down for Dana Brooke, then Reggie kicks out twice. On the third attempt, Dana kisses him. In the process, Dana Brooke wins the WWE 24/7 Championship, then R-Truth, Akira Tozawa and Tamina run towards the ring only for Dana and Reggie to fend them off. Tamina catches Tozawa, then drops him when he tries to kiss her. Tamina then chases Dana and Reggie to the back.

Bianca Belair heads to the ring. Bianca talks about how she made history at last year's WrestleMania and how she is ready to run it back with Becky Lynch and the Raw Women's Championship. She gives credit where credit is due to her Elimination Chamber opponents, then says there can be only one "tough-est" and that she is the hardest working woman in WWE and has worked hard for this moment and will not be letting up now. Becky shows up and congratulates Bianca on making it back to the big time, then says she was only able to main event WrestleMania because she did it first. Bianca says Becky did it first, but she did it better. Becky reminds Bianca she walked out as double champion, and that she has held the Raw Women's title for three years and has never been beaten for it, then reminds Bianca it has been six months since she beat her for the SmackDown title, which Becky says Bianca loves to bring up to play the victim. Bianca says she is not a victim and that she went to the back of the line to get back on top because Becky told her to, then Becky says she herself is the victim because the fans loved her before Bianca came around and turned on and despised her for beating Bianca for the SmackDown women's title. She says that for that, she despises the fans, and says that she beat someone she loved in Lita before saying what she could do to somebody she despises. Bianca says she will make Becky the victim, then Doudrop shows up for the next match.

WrestleMania 38 is 40 days away!

Becky Lynch guests on commentary for the next match.

Bianca Belair beats Doudrop.

Edge heads to the ring. Edge talks about how he heard about Hulk Hogan beating Andre The Giant at WrestleMania 3, had his WrestleMania debut at WrestleMania 14, had his big match at WrestleMania 2000 and had to outdo himself at WrestleMania X7. He also talks about how he won the first Money In The Bank Ladder Match, put Mick Foley through a flaming table, came close to beating The Undertaker's streak and retired World Heavyweight Champion at later WrestleManias. Edge says that was not enough for him, and that he worked ten years to get WrestleMania back and main evented again last year. He says that some kids dream about the Stanley Cup, but he has always dreamed about WrestleMania and still does. He says that he needs WrestleMania and that WrestleMania needs him, then demands that someone in the locker room stand up, face him at WrestleMania and live forever.

Kevin Owens and Seth "Freakin'" Rollins beat RK-Bro (Randy Orton and Matt Riddle) to become part of the WWE Raw Tag Team Championship Match in two weeks.

This week on Raw Talk: The Miz! Bianca Belair! Finn Balor!
