Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown recap for May 14, 2019

Roman Reigns shows up to start tonight's show. Roman says he has unfinished business from last night and that he wants to take care of business right here, right now. He says that Elias is a huge problem, and he plans to solve that problem by introducing The Miz to SmackDown Live. Miz says it is good to be back in London, England and on SmackDown Live, and says today could be the day that they beat Elias through and through. He also says it will be five days until Shane McMahon has nowhere to run or hide at Money In The Bank. Miz calls what Shane did to his dad unforgivable, and as he says that Shane will find himself in a steel cage with hi, Shane shows up with Elias. Shane says that Miz disgusts him, and decides to exercise his privilege by banning Miz from both the ring and the building tonight. Elias tells Roman that he can make all the corny jokes he wants, but underestimating him will be the biggest mistake of his career. He plans to prove to Roman why Vince McMahon calls him SmackDown Live's biggest acquisition, and that the McMahon family has found that WWE stands for "Walk With Elias." Shane says that he knew Miz and Roman would be difficult, and if they won't leave the ring, they will have to make them. However, there are a few people who hate The Miz's guts, and he brings them out: "The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan. Elias, Daniel Bryan, Rowan and Shane approach and surround the ring, then go on the attack. The numbers game catches up to The Miz and Roman Reigns, but The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) run in to even the odds. Even after Rowan makes very quick work of The Usos with a double clothesline, Roman, Miz and The Usos get the upper hand and force their opposition to retreat.

Backstage, Shane McMahon sets up a match between Elias, "The New" Daniel Bryan, Rowan and himself vs. Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso), and if The Miz gets involved, the steel cage match at Money In The Bank is cancelled.

Before the next match, Randy Orton says he will climb the ladder, grab the briefcase and become Mr. Money In The Bank for the second time to make RKO the three most dangerous letters for the WWE Champion. When Andrade shows up, Zelina Vega says everyone is sensitive when it comes to spoilers nowadays, and regardless of what show is being spoiled, she and Andrade do not care. Andrade says he will ruin Money In The Bank by saying he will be the one to win it all.

Andrade beats Finn Balor, Ali and Randy Orton in a Fatal 4-Way Match. After the match, Ricochet runs into the ring, jumps from the top rope to the ladder and fights off Andrade on the top of the ladder before knocking Andrade off and taking the briefcase.

We hear from Carmella, who says that the odds are in her favor Sunday as she has won two Money In The Bank Matches and she has successfully cashed in to become a champion.

In the locker room, Xavier Woods meets with Kofi Kingston. Kofi asks Xavier to stay backstage so he can handle his match one-on-one.

We get a closer look at the career of Bobby "The Brain" Heenan, courtesy of Progressive.

Charlotte Flair shows up. She says that Sunday will be the culmination of her rivalry with Becky Lynch and end with her becoming SmackDown Women's Champion. We then a video package of Charlotte and Becky's friendship and falling out through their time in WWE leading up to Sunday's match.

Backstage, Lacey Evans says everyone has forgotten that Becky has two championship matches on Sunday, and after she teaches Becky about a woman's right, Becky will be "Becky Black Eyes" while she is Raw Women's Champion.

We hear from Aleister Black, who says that within Shakespeare's words, there is a struggle between ambition and how one pursues it. In the end, people are left with their own truth. For those who try to get into his head, they will not like the place they try to venture into, and thus he clothes his naked villainy with old, odd ends.

Shane McMahon, "The New" Daniel Bryan, Rowan and Elias beat Roman Reigns and The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso). After the match, The Miz runs out with a steel chair and attacks Shane's team. Shane retreats as he and The Usos hammer Rowan.

We hear from Ember Moon and Bayley concerning the women's Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) vs. "The New" Daniel Bryan and Rowan is the kick-off for Money In The Bank.

The IIconics (Billie Kay and Peyton Royce) guest on commentary for the next match.

Before the next match, Paige says it is great to be home before introducing Asuka and Kairi Sane as "The Kabuki Warriors," saying they are the next Women's Tag Team Champions and the future of the women's division. When Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville shows up, Mandy tells Paige to calm down, saying she didn't name the royal baby and that names matter, as she will be Miss Money In The Bank after Sunday and going after the women's tag titles with Sonya, for they are the future.

The Kabuki Warriors (Kairi Sane and Asuka) beat Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville after Asuka rolls Mandy Rose - who says she has the match - up into an inside cradle.

We see a video package of Lars Sullivan's recent path of destruction, then Kayla Braxton interviews Lars Sullivan backstage. Braxton is absolutely nervous and cannot even conduct the interview.

We hear from Kevin Owens, who says that we are nearing a special edition of The Kevin Owens Show with special guest Kofi Kingston and that it is time to ask if Kofi can stand on his own. He says he knows the answer, and on Sunday, the world also will when he breaks him.

Kofi Kingston shows up ahead of Kevin Owens for The Kevin Owens Show. Kofi says that he has received an extension to The Kevin Owens Show, and he is here. If Owens wants him and the WWE Championship, he will get his chance on Sunday. He then asks about tonight, and says it would be fitting for Kevin Owens to host his own show. When Kofi introduces Owens, Owens does not show up, and Kofi proposes the show be renamed after him before giving Owens another chance to make good on his word. Kevin shows up on the TitanTron and mocks the fact that Kofi Kingston is on his own, saying it is as the worst time possible after sharing his magic moment only for the dream to end and reality to begin. He states that Kofi is only WWE Champion because of Xavier Woods and Big E and that his time as champion will end on Sunday because he is WWE's most dangerous man. We then see a video package chronicling Kevin Owens' time after NXT in WWE. Kofi asks what the video package proved and tells him that he is tired of hearing him talk before tossing his plate of pancakes and both chairs out of the ring and calling Owens out to the ring. Owens makes his way to the ring, but stops halfway down the ramp and walks away. He then turns back around and heads back to the ring, stops at the end of the ramp, and walks away again. At this point, Kofi has had enough, and Kofi and Owens brawl on the ramp. Kofi is then suddenly attacked by Sami Zayn, and Owens and Zami take the boots to Kofi. Before Owens can hit Kofi with a powerbomb to the apron, Xavier Woods rushes in to save Kofi, but the numbers game catches up with him. Sami and Owens attack Kofi again, and Owens tells Kofi that the title is as good as his and that he is leaving enough of him around to take the WWE Championship from him on Sunday. Owens then hits Kofi with a cannonball before Sami attacks Kofi again, but Kofi manages to fight back as Owens retreats.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
