Final Impact - Impact Wrestling recap for May 17, 2019

Before the next match, Glenn Gilberti shows up and says that when "The Smoke Show" Scarlett Bordeaux beat him, it was a "once-in-a-lifetime" fluke and says it was hard enough to watch one woman wrestle; now Impact is trying to get kicked off TV with ten women wrestling. He then says that the only way this match will be happening is if it is a bra and panties battle royal, but after seeing who is in the ring, it is better than they kept their clothes on. The bell ring, then all ten women in the match stomp Gilberti out of the ring. Glenn Gilberti then guests on commentary for the match to complain about women's wrestling.

Glenn Gilberti somehow wins a women's battle royal by actually being a competitor in the match despite spending almost the entire match on commentary, with Tessa Blanchard being his last elimination. After the match, Tessa chases Gilberti to the back.

We see footage from after last week's show where "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin tells Willie Mack it's not too late to back out of their match at Code Red. Willie punches Elgin, but Elgin powerbombs him into a truck.

In footage from earlier today, Rolando Menendez interviews "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin, who says he came back from Japan because he was sick of waiting in line, and is ready to take things for himself. Because of that, he sent "The Machine" Brian Cage, Pentagon Jr. and Willie Mack in the hospital. As he threatens Menendez, Rich Swann shows up and steps up to Elgin. When Elgin says Swann wants to go to the hospital, Swann punches him. This starts a brawl that is quickly broken up by security.

Rosemary beats Su Yung in a Demon Collar Match. After the match, Rosemary drags Su Yung out of the ring and to the back.

Backstage, Melissa Santos interviews Madison Rayne, who says she knows what Taya Valkryie is playing the mind games she has mastered and knows that Taya knows she can beat her for the Knockouts Championship. She then says that Taya's 30 days that she keeps hiding behind are up, and when she faces her for the title, Taya's reign will come to an end.

Madman Fulton beats Randy Shawn. After the match, Fulton continues to assault Randy Shawn, and Sami has to pull Fulton off of him.

Backstage, Melissa Santos interviews Rob Van Dam, who says it is great to be back in Impact and in the 2300 Arena. He announces that next week, he will be wrestling Tommy Dreamer and enjoying giving him a Van Daminator.

Rolando Menendez interviews Dr. Ariel via satellite regarding the update of "The Machine" Brian Cage. Cage is confirmed to have significant spinal trauma, but is already walking. Nevertheless, there is no timetable for his return.

Killer Kross beats Eddie Edwards with the Doomsday Saito after Eddie tries to use Kenny the Kendo stick as a weapon. After the match, Kross lifts Eddie up with Kenny and roundhouse kicks him in the head before he zipties Eddie to the middle rope. Kross tells Eddie he has to do this before putting on two black gloves and teasing hitting Eddie with Kenny the Kendo stick. He then breaks Kenny over his knee instead. Eddie is inconsolable.

At the Rascalz clubhouse, Dezmond Xavier tries to feed Trey Miguel chicken. Meanwhile, Zachary Wentz checks his pulse, and refuses to eat chicken by saying he is vegan. Dezmond decides the three of them might as well go training for their tag team title match against The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) next week. This leads into a training montage of hilarious proportions.

The Impact Plus Moment of the Week is "The Machine" Brian Cage vs. Kongo Kong from July 5, 2018.

Backstage, "The Walking Weapon" Josh Alexander tells "All Ego" Ethan Page they are done with Rob Van Dam, and as they argue over that, Moose shows up and says The Latin-American Xchange (Santana and Ortiz) are giving out title shots and that their title shot will always be there. As for Rob Van Dam, there is only one opportunity to be the first guy to take out RVD, and RVD has yet to meet him.

Next week: Madison Rayne vs. Taya Valkyrie for the Knockouts Championship! Sami Callihan vs. Fallah Bahh! Rob Van Dam vs. Tommy Dreamer!

Rich Swann beats "Unbreakable" Michael Elgin by disqualification after Elgin shoves the referee prior to a third powerbomb into the ring post. After the match, Elgin scares the referee to the back, then proceeds to attack Swann further until Willie Mack - who is thought to be in the hospital - runs in to fight Elgin. Suddenly, Johnny Impact shows up and lays out Willie Mack before attack Rich Swann. Elgin gets back up, then he and Johnny stare down to end the show.
