Raw Deal - Raw recap for May 6, 2019

WWE Chairman Vince McMahon shows up to start tonight's show. He states that this will be a night that nobody will forget because it is starting with him, but Roman Reigns shows up almost immediately after Vince. Vince tells Roman he has the police waiting in case he decides to Superman Punch, and asks what he is doing on Raw. Roman tells Vince to watch his tone, and says he has been on Raw for a while and that he plans to leave it better than he found it. He also states that Vince calling the fans "the authority" a lie as his family has been running the show, but that is over now and he takes orders from the fans, not Vince. Vince tells Roman not to think about coming to Raw again, as it would start a floodgate he would have no control over. Suddenly, "The New" Daniel Bryan shows up on WWE television for the first time since WrestleMania 35. He says that ever since he was robbed by Kofi Kingston of the WWE Championship, he has spent the last month in solitude and meditation for answers that thought leaders could understand. When he heard that Roman was showing up, he thought that he and Vince could have an intellectual conversation. Suddenly, Kofi Kingston shows up. Kofi tells Daniel that he could have came to him if he had a problem with him winning the WWE Championship, and Daniel calls him an undeserving champion whose win was a fluke. As Kofi and Daniel argue, Vince proposes that they have a wild card rule that allows three SmackDown Live Superstars to come to Raw on a given occasion, and that three Raw Superstars could come to SmackDown Live. Kofi says he saw Roman's message for tonight, and since Big E and Xavier Woods are on the mend, he decided to show up as well. Daniel says that he is here for a WWE Championship rematch, then Drew McIntyre shows up. McIntyre says that if nobody has got what it takes to get this under control, then it is up to him. He says that this is not "SmackDown presents Raw," and says Kofi and Daniel should be lucky he cares more about Roman than them. He tells Roman that if he thinks the rules do not apply to him, then he is an egomaniac and he will Claymore him back to earth. Roman takes this as a challenge, and Vince proposes that this become an official match. He also proposes that Kofi and Daniel Bryan face each other for the WWE Championship again tonight as well, then says tonight will be unforgettable and that he is a genius. "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles then shows up.

After the commercial break, "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles asks WWE Chairman Vince McMahon what he is doing putting SmackDown Live's Superstars on the show. Vince mentions his new wild card rule, but Styles thinks this is a little too convenient. He proposes that he go to SmackDown Live and bring some friends with him to counter the arrival of "Roman Reigns' best friend Seth Rollins," but as Vince explains the wild card rule, Seth Rollins shows up. Rollins calls Styles' words a "sucker punch," and says that Raw was fine before he showed up and will be fine without him as this is his show. Styles says he tried to give Seth the benefit of the doubt and be a good sport after last week, but he threw the Universal title in his face and ran his mouth. If Seth refuses to treat him like a man, he can be the man that beats his ass and stands over him as Universal Champion at Money In The Bank. Vince proposes they have a match, but instead of as opponents, they will be in a match as tag team partners and that match is happening right now.

Bobby Lashley and Baron Corbin beat Seth Rollins and "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles after Styles walks away from the match following an inadvertent Phenomenal Forearm to Rollins.

Backstage, The Miz waits in front of Shane McMahon's office door.

Sami Zayn shows up. He asks the fans what they have to complain about now, and says that the difference between himself enjoying something and the fans enjoying something is that the fans are still the fans afterwards. He says that fixing one's self is hard and that complaining is the easy way out simply because the fans are cowards. Before he can say much else, Braun Strowman shows up. Sami takes off his jacket and hat, then runs awayw when Strowman rushes into the ring. When Strowman folows, Sami retreats through the crowd, but that does not stop Strowman, who stays in pursuit and chases Sami to the back. As The Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado) shows up for the next match, Strowman chases Sami Zayn to a dead end. Sami tries to escape through a garage door, but Strowman grabs him and throws him in a dumpster. All of a sudden, a truck is heard, and a garbage truck takes the dumpster away. The trash is dumped into the truck, and so is Sami Zayn.

The Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik, Lince Dorado) beat three unnamed opponents.

Backstage, Natalya and Naomi read cards from Lacey Evans, who asks that they be ringside at her match tonight in "formal ringwear attire." Dana Brooke shows up with a card, too, and the three of them are fed up with Lacey. Also, the cards smell like peach cobbler.

The Miz still waits for Shane McMahon backstage.

Ricochet beats Robert Roode to keep his spot in the Money In The Bank Ladder Match.

Backstage, Rey Mysterio talks about his recent match with Dominic when they meet Heath Slater. Dominic leaves as Rey heads to his dressing room, but he is soon followed by Samoa Joe.

After the commercial break, Samoa Joe talks with Dominic, and says he made an embarrassment out of him after getting in the ring and hoisting Rey Mysterio on his shoulder. He tells him to tell Rey he looks forward to defending the United States title at Money In The Bank.

Naomi, Dana Brooke, Natalya and Alexa Bliss show up to watch the next match from ringside.

Lacey Evans quickly beats Allie Katrina. After the match, Lacey thanks Natalya, Naomi, Alexa Bliss and Dana Brooke for coming, saying they deserved a front row seat to see what a first-class lady is capable of before Becky Lynch loses all she has worked for courtesy of a woman's right. She hopes that the four of them are smarter than they look, for if any one of them cash in on her after she wins the Raw Women's title, they will quickly regret losing any opportunity at becoming a championship when they come up short like Becky Lynch. Becky Lynch shows up and brawls with Lacey Evans in and out of the ring until Lacey retreats.

Backstage, "The New" Daniel Bryan says Kofi Kingston's constant shilling as WWE Champion of pancakes, merchandise and consumerism is a threat to human existence, and he must eliminate Kofi for the future of WWE and humanity to correct course and become the planet's champion again.

Backstage, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) are up to something.

The Viking Raiders (Ivar and Erik) beat Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder.

This week on Firefly Fun House, Bray Wyatt catches Mercy the Buzzard eating something. Abby confronts Mercy for hiding something, and Mercy won't let Bray get a look. The thing in question is a devoured Rambling Rabbit, whom Mercy accuses of forcing into conforming to his bohemian lifestyle. Bray says it's okay to express yourself, then rewards Mercy with a picnic with a bunch of bored-looking kids.

Backstage, Seth Rollins tells "The Phenomenal" AJ Styles it does not matter if his Phenomenal Forearm was an accident, as he made his point after walking away from him for the second week, and that he will have two black eyes and a broken face if he does it again.

Roman Reigns beats Drew McIntyre by disqualification after he is attacked by Shane McMahon and Elias. After the match, Shane and Elias continue to attack Roman until The Miz runs towards the ring with a steel chair and chases Shane through the crowd and into the back. With the assist from Elias, McIntyre hits Roman with a Claymore. Backstage, Shane McMahon hides from The Miz and escapes him, but he is interviewed by Charly Caruso. Shane immediately runs away to his limo, but he is nailed from behind with a steel chair by The Miz. The Miz and Shane fight each other near the limo, and Shane has to hit a low blow to retreat into his limo and get out of the arena.

Before the next match, The Usos (Jimmy and Jey Uso) show up and mock The Revival (Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder) with sweat-activated "Ucey Hot," which The Revival have unknowingly applied to themselves. The Revival's bodies are burning in pain, and The Usos tell them to come on stage to remove it with water. The Usos then say they were supposed to drink the water, not dump it on themselves, and they tell The Revival that putting the water on themselves made it even worse. The Revival runs to the back.

Kofi Kingston says that "The New" Daniel Bryan says he is not a champion, but he had to show him - and the world - that the impossible was possible. He then says he will retain the WWE Championship and send Daniel Bryan back to where he came from.

No Way Jose comes to the ring for the next match, but Lars Sullivan shows up. Instead of going after Jose immediately, he attacks Jose's conga line. Jose fights Sullivan, but Sullivan launches into the crowd before attacking the conga line again. As Lars attacks the conga line again, No Way Jose tries to fight him again, but to no avail.

Backstage, WWE Chairman Vince McMahon is on the phone concerning the wild card idea when Lars Sullivan shows up. Vince McMahon says he will be sending four men to SmackDown instead of three, then Lars Sullivan leaves.

Kofi Kingston retains the WWE Championship against "The New" Daniel Bryan.

Here are the top ten moments from tonight's show!
