Layin' da SmackDown - SmackDown Live recap for May 28, 2019

Before the next match, a video package plays chronicling the rivalry between Kevin Owens and Kofi Kingston, Owens says he was going to kick the show with his own show, but now he cannot think of anything worse than giving a show to fans who are not worthy of it. He says that the only reason being here is bearable is because he will beat up Kofi Kingston in a few minutes, for he has developed a taste in the last few weeks for dishing out physical punishment on members of The New Day (Kofi Kingston, Big E, Xavier Woods). He then says he did not attack Big E and that he had nothing to do with the attack on Big E because he is a good person, but if The New Day want to blame him for something, they can blame him for the pain that Xavier Woods has been in for the past few weeks or Kofi Kingston's fairy tale ending at the hands of Dolph Ziggler due to what he does to him tonight. He says that the title will come back around to him in due time, for he is the best on the show. Kofi shows up and tells Owens to stop lying, for he is a liar and not a good person, and that instead of Owens softening him up for Ziggler, he will make Owens pay for what he has done to Big E and Woods before leaving with an understanding of why he is WWE Champion.
